but the fans have too. its an obsession.

Yes Meghan and Harry fans are certainly obsessed.

JacknDiane · 20/10/2025 10:31

Hopefully Charles and his bag full of cash will be next.
To think we are expected to bow and scrape to these people 🤬

jumpingthehighjump · 20/10/2025 09:55

Yes they have been silent so there's no need to bring them up is there?

Yes, you keep policing this thread. You cannot dictate what posters chose to bring into the discussion on a RF thread.

KC, William have all been discussed on this thread, so have Beatrice and Eugenie. If people wish to discuss Meghan and Harry in relation to their stance on Andrew, that is perfectly reasonable.

If posters were discussing Megs latest PR stunt, then maybe you’d have a point. But unfortunately, you don’t.

If you don’t like the discussions on this thread, you are free to create your own and police that.

As am I and others, so stop trying to police what is discussed, the OP has already said this to you.

An OP doesn't own a thread and opinions are allowed
I am interested in talking about what is all over the news from Friday night until now and ongoing

But you’re attempting to shut down discussion on Meg and Harry. That’s not an opinion. That’s policing.

OP posts:
BigWillyLittleTodger · 20/10/2025 10:53

and neither do you so stop trying to police who or what is discussed, you don’t make the rules, discuss what you like, as will I.

AtIusvue · 20/10/2025 10:55

And in my opinion, the couple that stated saying nothing is the worse thing you can do- their silence surrounding Andrew makes them look hypocritical at best.

Fine, bring up Harry and Meghan but when there is an irrelevant post saying they are not parenting their own children and will there be any dirt on their nannies,
That was when I spoke out

Rest assured, I will from now on avoid commenting on any posts about Harry & Meghan

I think that one's already been dealt with, @JacknDiane, with the predictable "nothing to see here" conclusion

Interesting that the distancing has already started though, witth Bridget Phillipson's "This is a matter for the family rather than government"

Guess she must have missed tthat the head of that family is also (god help us) the head of state ...

What exactly are the Met investigating?

Whether the officer complied?

Just trying to work.out the alleged criminal act (rather than the wrong and immoral act).

How did Andrew obtain private information from another country's records?

Were any laws broken, in the UK or elsewhere, by anyone, in the course of obtaining that information?

What exactly did Andrew request from the Met officer?

What were the met officer's actions following this?

Had Andrew made similar requests in the past, did he go on to make similar requests after? What was the outcome ?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 20/10/2025 11:28

How did Andrew obtain private information from another country's records?

From Ghislaine Maxwell perhaps?

As Virginia's "employer" Hmm I can quite see that they'd have been able to squirrel her SS number out of her, and from Ghislaine to Andrew would be an easy step

AreYouSureAskedNaomi · 20/10/2025 11:30

Let the investigation tell us. Not holding my breath.

Baital · 20/10/2025 11:33

Any of her previous employers - such as Trump - would known her Social Security number.

It would be illegal in the UK to pass it on, but the laws about privacy and data protection are far weaker in the USA, so I don't know whether it would be illegal there. It isn't in the Met's power to investigate potential crimes in the US, though of course they should pass on any information.

Obviously if there is any reason to believe he has broken any laws in the UK, it should be investigated. But I think we need to remember that not everything that is wrong (immoral, unethical etc) is also illegal. Saying 'the Met is investigating' is just a smokescreen if there isn't a crime to investigate.

MrsLeonFarrell · 20/10/2025 11:35

Even if the investigation finds out what happened I'll bet the only person to face consequences is the policeman involved, not Andrew.

Baital · 20/10/2025 11:38

MrsLeonFarrell · 20/10/2025 11:35

Well, exactly, because that would a disciplinary offence at least, possibly illegal.

Yes exactly. I'm not sure that Andrew himself did anything illegal in this instance. Skeevy of course but not illegal.

the desperation of the fans to bring M into every thread. yet if anyone dares to mention A on a meghan bash thread they get told off......

Actually, I mentioned Harry once earlier in the thread and @jumpingthehighjump denounced me for mentioning Meghan. The person who used the M name was jump. I was discussing Harry, who apparently isn't allowed to have his own agency.

PinkTonic · 20/10/2025 13:23

bluegreygreen · 20/10/2025 09:56

Both political parties have a vested interest in the Epstein scandal remaining on the other side of the Atlantic. And the US press are very, very, very silent on the very powerful men at the apex of the US government, with untold intelligence and military resources at their command...potentially subject to blackmail by Epstein.

Exactly - Andrew is a convenient scapegoat.

Presumably among those powerful men are newspaper editors who don't want their journalists asking the right questions.

I am not defending Andrew in any way. I am pointing out that this blanket coverage of him, while ignoring all the other names on lists, is very convenient, especially as he has not been found guilty of any crimes.

Separately to that, I do think KC3 should have dealt with Andrew more clearly. He has brought the institution of the monarchy into disrepute.

New reporting from the BBC today seems to show that the memoir doesn’t name any other men who were involved, even though she says she feared she would die a sex slave due to the abuse she was subjected to at the hands of these unidentified men. I’m interested in why only one man is named, other than JE of course.

BemusedAmerican · 20/10/2025 13:32

@PinkTonic That is a very good question. I've pre- ordered the book.

ThePoshUns · 20/10/2025 13:33

Yes I don’t understand why she has only named Andrew. She must have been too scared to name any others just yet.

RainbowBagels · 20/10/2025 13:38

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 19/10/2025 12:49

I also dont expect anything to come of this investigation. I fully expect there to be suddenly new revelations and investigations once Andrew is dead, and everyone pretend it only was discovered then, not sat on during his lifetime.

If it pulls in any other members of the RF ( or their reputation) it wont even come out after his death. It will be another ' sealed for 100 years' job.

BemusedAmerican · 20/10/2025 13:43

I hate to say it but the others may be powerful Americans. She lived in the US. Her kids are in the US.

I think the Andrew thing is more important to us though, as it involves our institutions. Not just the RF but the lengths the government and the establishment will go to to protect them. The thread is about Andrew taking the private information of someone who he apparently didn't know but had her social security number and date of birth and asked a police officer to dig up dirt on her. All his shady deals when he was a by all accounts dreadful ' trade envoy' all hidden away. This will come to nothing too. Its gone over just his sex addiction and lack of care about where hecwasxsticking his Royal dick.
