How do you a.feel habing to pay secuirty for Andrew eh...your money protecting him...

Looking at it in terms of criminal law, I'm not sure the police can do anything.

PA asks his protection officer to get him some information. The police officer replies, I'm sorry sir, I'm not able to do that. It would be illegal."

PA doesn't commit a crime by simply asking for information. Stupid, entitled and selfish but not criminal. I think it only becomes a criminal offence if he offered the police officer an inducement, or if the police officer provided any information.

Not criminal but they will say he didnt try and get info on Virginia etc and then will infer it was all made up as he has always claimed.

bluegreygreen · 19/10/2025 14:06

Hmmm ...

Is this an investigation into Andrew, or into whether one of their own officers might have acted inappropriately in following one of Andrew's requests?

If the officer basically received the request but did nothing, there's no problem. If not ...

This is what I was gettig at on the other thread when I said it was utterly appalling of A to put the protection officer under such intolerable pressure.

Refuse to act: get berated and sworn at then get transferred to directing traffic.

Act: Risk of being found to have accessed data without good reason constantly over your head then when or if it's discovered lose your job.

What a git A is even to have even thought of 'asking' (and I wouldn't be surprised to find it was more of an order) 😡

Regular reminder that Harry didn’t want to leave and he is now desperate for reconciliation.

He's run out of shit to throw at his family and needs the money 😉

I think the RF are maybe keeping other sanctions up their sleeves to encourage Andrew to do as he’s told. Andrew with nothing left to lose is not a great prospect for the RF. They don’t want any more Oprahs or Spares or Netflix docs. They certainly don’t want him homeless and desperate for cash. So keeping something to hold over him, whether that’s losing the Prince title or kicking him out of the house or whatever is probably a good move for now.

I get where you're coming from, noonames, but guess it may come down to who's got what on who, and who might blink first

There's also the point that Andrew's not got much of a reputation left to lose, whereas others might quite like to hang onto theirs, even if they're based mostly on PR and pretence

God, what a family ... Hmm

Hasn't he been stripped of his royal security?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 19/10/2025 20:17

Dollymylove · 19/10/2025 20:08

Hasn't he been stripped of his royal security?

Yes, Dollymylobve, or at least that's what's been claimed

It was done by the late Queen when he "stepped back" from public roles, and the palace said they'd pay for private security for him instead - though whether they found some way to charge that to us too is unknowable

Teado · 19/10/2025 20:17

Andrew/Ferguson’s memoir would be explosive, fair play 😆

Probably even more woe-is-me than Spare, but I reckon a lot of things would come out.

elessar · 19/10/2025 16:29

Thank you for pointing this out (again).

Andrew is absolutely vile, the worst of the worst, but Harry, who has thrown all manner of accusations around at members of his family, has never spoken out against him.

Indeed his only public comment recently was to deny claims that he had punched Andrew in the past!

Yes.

This is very intriguing given the way he's flapped his gums so openly over his grievances with so many others.

Also notable that he's never waaaghed about the Tindalls and Peter Phillips milking their connections so hard their hands fall off enjoying the kind of HIHO he was denied and all after Michael called him a bellend.

Dollymylove · 19/10/2025 20:08

Hasn't he been stripped of his royal security?

Yes, a while ago. And his allowance. And it wasn’t public money anyway, we stopped paying for his security a few years ago.

Charles refused to pay 32k pounds a year for Andrew's live-in yoga instructor.

He's fuxked!

He isn't.

He's been allowed to put out a statement on his own behalf positing him as selflessly placing his titles into the void for the wider good. He keeps the mini palace. The 'blood princesses' retain their standing.

The only thing he's lost is the chance to place himself centre stage at 'private' family events, banter with the plebs on Christmas day and raid the dressing up box for velvet curtains.

Otherwise business as usual.

jumpingthehighjump · 19/10/2025 17:08

What's that got to do with Andrew being investigated by the Met Police?

Surely there's enough threads elsewhere to post comments like that.

Theres no need for you to police this thread thank you

I agree with most of that, Cathy, but do wonder about the "private family events"

Let's face it, if he chooses to turn up, gurning, at some future church event like the recent funeral, what are they going to do ... tackle him to the floor?

Regular reminder that Harry didn’t want to leave and he is now desperate for reconciliation.

God forbid a man would want to reconcile with his father.

Fartughtyred · 19/10/2025 21:22

There's a good reason why Harry has not said a word about Andrew and posts referencing the Sussexes on this thread are perhaps not entirely out of place. www.businessinsider.com/meghan-markle-could-testify-in-prince-andrew-lawsuit-lawyer-says-2021-12 Who knows what's been going on, but HLMTQ financed the 12 million settlement to Giuffre very quickly when she realised who else may be involved. Prior to this Andrew had always insisted that he would not capitulate and wanted to fight the allegations.
It's all so murky and horrible, but I'm another who can't understand why none of the high profile Americans involved have not yet been held to account.

A lawyer representing Roberts Giuffre told The Daily Beast Markle may have "important knowledge"
David Boies said the US has jurisdiction over her and she was close to Andrew for a period of time

At least the source is named this time, but what the hell is this supposed to mean? Confused

Even leaving aside his ridiculous assertion that "she is somebody who we can count on to tell the truth", when is she supposed to have had time to get close to Andrew during the whirlwind romance?

I think he’ll move abroad if the police get involved.

Hopefully, 'abroad' will bounce him right back...

“Lauren the Insider” latest video on YouTube where she has interviewed Andrew Lownie may shed some light, (she was in PR for celebs for 20 years) AL is looking into Soho House….
