It sounds very dodgy to me as well, I'm just not sure that Andrew has committed a crime in this country. Maybe in the US but we know he isn't going there

But chances are someone in America obtained that number of him. There's a thread to be unravelled, but the Met are here to serve powerful men so I doubt they will do anything

DarkYearForMySoul · 19/10/2025 15:43

@NewspaperTaxis when you said “… when this story was bubbling under - along with tales of State-led grooming gangs in Labour-led local authorities …” are you seriously suggesting membership of one political party predisposes to grooming and sexual assault??!!! Are you sure you’re not American, MAGA, and believed the tripe about Hilary running gangs from the basement if a pizza place?
There are conspiracy theories, and there are completely despicably horrible lies. Let’s take a guess where the above sits.

Shinybrightdarling · 19/10/2025 15:40

As far as I know, it is illegal for an adult in the UK to sleep with a prostitute aged under 18 - so Prince Andrew could possibly be considered to have broken the law.
Of course, Prince Andrew might claim he did not think VG was a prostitute - and/or he did not know she was a groomed sex abuse victim. For that to be true, he would have to say she chose to sleep with him for her own pleasure - which is very hard to believe - this must be why he had to say he couldn’t remember her.

Edited

I wasn't referring to that, only the obtaining of her NI number.

Regular reminder that Harry didn’t want to leave and he is now desperate for reconciliation.

Thank you for pointing this out (again).

Andrew is absolutely vile, the worst of the worst, but Harry, who has thrown all manner of accusations around at members of his family, has never spoken out against him.

Indeed his only public comment recently was to deny claims that he had punched Andrew in the past!

Definitely a thread but I agree that it is unlikely to lead anywhere. I don't think that is because of who Andrew is though, I am coming round to the opinion that is because who is hiding behind him and would rather the spotlight stay on Andrew rather than any of Epstein's other friends.

That bit is very weird. Lip gloss sharing is worthy of comment but Andrew isn't.

Timeforabitofpeace · 19/10/2025 16:37

I’m doubtful that the met would ever charge him.

Yes, old Charlie boy has quite the skeletons brues in his closet.

No wonder Harry got his children well away from them.

Let's hope that the background of the Sussex nannies are squeaky clean because it looks these days that the kids see them more than the parents.

I think what we mean, is the RF is above the law when it comes to serous stuff. In fact, an out of control dog is a god send as police can prosecute for something minor and then the belief they're 'just like us' can be perpetuated futher

That same dog killed a corgi in front of the Queen and attacked and injured two children. Anne should never have taken the dog off her estate. She's lucky the dog didn't kill one of the kids. The dog should never been off the estate without a muzzle.

What's that got to do with Andrew being investigated by the Met Police?

Surely there's enough threads elsewhere to post comments like that.

BemusedAmerican · 19/10/2025 17:13

@jumpingthehighjump Address that same comment to the poster who I responded to.

noonames · 19/10/2025 17:13

Futurehappiness · 19/10/2025 14:33

Close friends with Jimmy Savile. That speaks for itself.

Supported paedophile bishop Peter Ball after he was cautioned - both financially and in a series of letters to PB commiserating with him about the impact of his victims' attempts to seek justice. One of Charles's letters to him referred to one of his accusers as a 'ghastly man.....up to his dastardly tricks again'. (one of his victims committed suicide). Claimed afterwards that he had been 'misled'; apparently it did not occur to him to look into the truth of the matter.

That is quite apart from the dodgy charity work, cash in carrier bags, opaque financial dealings, profiteering though the Duchies on the back of charities and public institutions such as the NHS and the military, and being exposed as a slumlord. And that is just what we know about.

They are hardly skeletons if we know about them, surely?

jumpingthehighjump · 19/10/2025 17:22

Your post is irrelevant in your response to the poster you responded to. B.American.

For once, can we not talk about current news regarding Andrew on a thread about Andrew? Instead of snide totally unrelated comments about Meghan's nannies when there's probably four threads running about her and Harry it can be posted on.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 19/10/2025 17:26

Charles has actually done nothing much if at all

Did you honestly think he would, @Futurehappiness?

You gave an excellent summary of some of the more unsavoury things and people Charles has been involved with - though you missed out a few - and I very much doubt he'd risk these being enlarged upon

Good luck with his visit to see the pope though; once Virginia's book is published on Tuesday he might get a small column on the inside pages if he's lucky

If dog had mauled a child, god forbid, it would have been made the fault of one of her staff . There's no way she would have gone to prison for it

JohnTheRevelator · 19/10/2025 17:51

I expect it will be the usual whitewash. He is still a member of the royal family, after all.

noonames · 19/10/2025 17:53

I think the RF are maybe keeping other sanctions up their sleeves to encourage Andrew to do as he’s told. Andrew with nothing left to lose is not a great prospect for the RF. They don’t want any more Oprahs or Spares or Netflix docs. They certainly don’t want him homeless and desperate for cash. So keeping something to hold over him, whether that’s losing the Prince title or kicking him out of the house or whatever is probably a good move for now.

What in heavens name has that got to do with anything?
what a weird thing to post.

BemusedAmerican · 19/10/2025 19:15

I was responding to a pp who had said that Harry took his kids to the US to keep them away from Charles and his associates. I personally felt the original post was inappropriate. Oddly @jumpingthehighjump called me out and not the original poster. I've also pointed that out.

I'm not responding to this again.

jumpingthehighjump · 19/10/2025 19:22

I called you out for talking about Meghan's nannies which bore no relevance whatsoever.

Anyway, moving on.....Emily Maitlis has said she is glad the Met Police are looking into Andrew getting his bodyguard, a Met Police officer, to dig dirt on his sexual assault accuser. And she said this..
'I think if there have been people responsible for trying to make her life even more unbearable than it was, then I would like to see justice done.'

I agree.

Its sensible to hold onto some leverage as much as I’d like to see PA kicked out to a 1 bed cottage at Anne’s gaff mucking out the stables for cash in hand.

Cheese55 · 19/10/2025 12:40

Absolutely nothing will come of this. The RF are above the law

Looking at it in terms of criminal law, I'm not sure the police can do anything.

PA asks his protection officer to get him some information. The police officer replies, I'm sorry sir, I'm not able to do that. It would be illegal."

PA doesn't commit a crime by simply asking for information. Stupid, entitled and selfish but not criminal. I think it only becomes a criminal offence if he offered the police officer an inducement, or if the police officer provided any information.

Harry didn’t seem to say a bad word about Andrew so you’re giving him way too much credit.

Too busy slaying off his dad who actually supported him. But it was crickets for Andrew.
