Is Kate Middleton wearing a blonde WIG?

Saw pictures today of Catherine, The Princess of Wales at the Natural History Museum.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-15064693/Princess-Wales-natural-history-museum-return-work-summer.html

I’m glad to see her back to work and looking happy. I’m also stunned by how different her hair looks. I always admired her amazing brown hair, so the blonde is quite the shock. Maybe it’s the wind and the rain creating the effect, but it almost looks like she is wearing a wig?

Just to clarify, I understand she went through cancer treatment and that can affect the hair in many ways. If she is wearing a wig, I really really don’t see a problem with it. If anything, it would be such a boon to cancer patients and people with alopecia etc who do wear wigs frequently. They could see that even wearing a wig you could look as fabulous as Kate.

Either way what is your verdict, wig or her own hair? Does the blonde suit her or do you prefer her as a brunette?

For the Vote:
You are being unreasonable, Kate's hair is all her own.
You are NOT being unreasonable, it's defiantly a wig.

Also as a side note I love her outfit.

Good Heir Day! Kate returns to duties with blonde post-holiday hair

The Princess of Wales joined her husband Prince William to visit the Natural History Museum in London today as they returned to duties after their summer break.

I'm not slagging kate off because I love her, but i come from a country where only young girls have hair like this and I feel that this kind of "princess hair" coupled witj the lighter shade actually looks ageing

Can I ask which country that is? And how do older women have their hair in your country?

venus7 · 04/09/2025 19:31

How can a wig be defiant?

Butchyrestingface · 04/09/2025 19:32

I've. had alopecia since I was a teenager. I remain resolutely 'un-booned' by a member of the RF wearing a wig.

I think my fake hair is nicer than hers in any case.

Leave her alone, let her carry out her public appearances in peace.

It's a "public" appearance. As the public we are entitled to say what we like about these people whose privileged lavish lifestyle (and hair!) we pay for.

How can a wig be 'defiant'?

SunshineSunday23 · 04/09/2025 19:46

I think she’s just had some extensions in or a weave.

I do get frustrated with the Royal Family. They are obsessed with Kate’s image and her being made to look perfect. I can’t think of any other Royal, other than Charlotte, where there is such a focus on their physicality by the media and public. The constant focus Kate’s image must be exhausting. It does make me worry about the mental health of Charlotte over the long term.

However, ignoring the hair, I was surprised how she looked. She looks exhausted and not her usual radiant self. l hope she is OK and not ill either physically or mentally. She has three children and it must be worrying for all of them.

With Princess Diana, I felt she was more ‘herself’ in what she wore. She also let her kids just be kids. They looked smart but they were never made to look perfect.

some hair was good until after chemo then it thins badly

Ellmau · 04/09/2025 19:49

You can see the roots - it's just highlights. I have to say I don't think it suits her, but it's not a wig.

Gladysknightjustwalkinmyshoes · 04/09/2025 19:49

She's had cancer treatment.. leave her the fuck alone you ghoul.🤯

Yeah you’re right a colloquial vs a fact is more wrong. Ugh yourself.

A 'colloquial' that is reductive and often used by men to diminish and disrespect women.

ScruffMuffin · 04/09/2025 19:50

Looking at her roots, I reckon it's her own hair, with (not amazing) highlights and a few extensions in there. I prefer her dark hair, but maybe she just fancied a change! Let's face it... she'd probably look stunning in a bin bag, bunny slippers and a balaclava.

Butchyrestingface · 04/09/2025 19:51

As a baldie, I also really appreciate the way OP has capitalised WIG in the thread title, as if it's somehow SHOCKING and OUT-THERE - like she'd taken to wearing a SMALL GREEN MARTIAN on top of her head. 🙄

What I noticed was the Fail writing a positive article about Kate and immediately below it writing a negative article about Meghan.

How many years has it been?

Tiresome.

Predictable, but tiresome.

Nomdemare · 04/09/2025 20:03

I like gossip as much as the next person, but I feel really uncomfortable with some of the comments. She’s had cancer, ffs

LBFseBrom · 04/09/2025 20:06

No, that's not a wig. She has lovely hair and now it's sunkissed.

That's as old as time that one.

Kate Vs Meghan
Diana Vs Sarah
Diana Vs Sophie (and that would have got more prolific as Sophie married in had Diana still been alive)

Even back in 1953 they were trying to pit Margaret and Alexandra against each other. One paper said "PRINCESS ALEXANDRA HAILED AS RISING "STAR'' OF ROYAL FAMILY
From Our London Office
Princess Margaret has a successor. Her position as the Royal "star" in the eyes of the romantic and often fickle British public is being usurped by her young cousin, Princess Alexandra of Kent."

They can never praise one woman without putting a negative toward another.

YourWinter · 04/09/2025 20:11

I think it looks awful, too long, too floofy and bouncy, and much too light. I don’t like extensions on anyone (my DDs have them, both in their 30s, but at least theirs are straight). If it’s a wig it’s dreadful. She’s so beautiful and this look is just desperate and silly.

Zanatdy · 04/09/2025 20:11

Kate often has lighter tones in summer and then goes darker for winter. She has done this for quite a few years.

Waterweight · 04/09/2025 20:13

Not sure why "WIG" is in capital letters as it's not an abbreviation of anything ?

Phatgurslyms · 04/09/2025 20:16

I am a Republiclican but I find the topic of this thread repulsive. What if she is wearing a wig? Is it ok to draw our attention to it? The woman has just been treated for cancer fgs.

BilbaoBaggage · 04/09/2025 20:18

Hiptothisjive · 04/09/2025 18:36

It’s a colloquial. That’s what there is to understand.

Nonsense.
It is hypocrisy.
Kate in lieu of Catherine is a colloquial.
Girl in lieu of woman is infantilising.

Iloveyoubut · 04/09/2025 14:13

I think it’s a bit of a shitty question to ask. Sorry.

Me too, I couldn't give a flying fuck what she does with her hair it's her choice, but she's been through cancer so whatever makes her feel great then good for her...

As offensive as it is Kate's face just didn't age well no amount or lack of hair is going to fix that

Fucking hell.....was there any need for that?

BloomingNerines · 04/09/2025 20:38

i don’t think it suits her.
