Is Kate Middleton wearing a blonde WIG?

Saw pictures today of Catherine, The Princess of Wales at the Natural History Museum.

I’m glad to see her back to work and looking happy. I’m also stunned by how different her hair looks. I always admired her amazing brown hair, so the blonde is quite the shock. Maybe it’s the wind and the rain creating the effect, but it almost looks like she is wearing a wig?

Just to clarify, I understand she went through cancer treatment and that can affect the hair in many ways. If she is wearing a wig, I really really don’t see a problem with it. If anything, it would be such a boon to cancer patients and people with alopecia etc who do wear wigs frequently. They could see that even wearing a wig you could look as fabulous as Kate.

Either way what is your verdict, wig or her own hair? Does the blonde suit her or do you prefer her as a brunette?

I've. had alopecia since I was a teenager. I remain resolutely 'un-booned' by a member of the RF wearing a wig.

I think my fake hair is nicer than hers in any case.

It's a "public" appearance. As the public we are entitled to say what we like about these people whose privileged lavish lifestyle (and hair!) we pay for.

I do get frustrated with the Royal Family. They are obsessed with Kate’s image and her being made to look perfect. I can’t think of any other Royal, other than Charlotte, where there is such a focus on their physicality by the media and public. The constant focus Kate’s image must be exhausting. It does make me worry about the mental health of Charlotte over the long term.

However, ignoring the hair, I was surprised how she looked. She looks exhausted and not her usual radiant self. l hope she is OK and not ill either physically or mentally. She has three children and it must be worrying for all of them.

With Princess Diana, I felt she was more ‘herself’ in what she wore. She also let her kids just be kids. They looked smart but they were never made to look perfect.

Looking at her roots, I reckon it's her own hair, with (not amazing) highlights and a few extensions in there. I prefer her dark hair, but maybe she just fancied a change! Let's face it... she'd probably look stunning in a bin bag, bunny slippers and a balaclava.

As a baldie, I also really appreciate the way OP has capitalised WIG in the thread title, as if it's somehow SHOCKING and OUT-THERE - like she'd taken to wearing a SMALL GREEN MARTIAN on top of her head. 🙄

I think it looks awful, too long, too floofy and bouncy, and much too light. I don’t like extensions on anyone (my DDs have them, both in their 30s, but at least theirs are straight). If it’s a wig it’s dreadful. She’s so beautiful and this look is just desperate and silly.

Kate often has lighter tones in summer and then goes darker for winter. She has done this for quite a few years.

I am a Republiclican but I find the topic of this thread repulsive. What if she is wearing a wig? Is it ok to draw our attention to it? The woman has just been treated for cancer fgs.

Me too, I couldn't give a flying fuck what she does with her hair it's her choice, but she's been through cancer so whatever makes her feel great then good for her...

As offensive as it is Kate's face just didn't age well no amount or lack of hair is going to fix that
