Continuing the on from the As ever thread

  • Funny article from Jan Moir

https://archive.ph/UfTPx

  • Turns out Chrissy wasn’t the only known bully that Meg invited onto the show. David Chang has serious anger issues and has bullied staff

https://www.standard.co.uk/culture/tvfilm/meghan-markle-s-shameless-pr-stunt-with-david-chang-is-disgusting-b1244549.html

  • Megs new show hasn’t appeared in the Top ten on NF in the UK or US, which she had done for the first series. NF aren’t promoting it other that in the ‘new this week’ section. You also have to scroll along to find it.
  • No stock sold out yet

Meghan Markle’s shameless PR stunt with David Chang is disgusting

The first episode of With Love, Meghan season two has a nasty jumpscare

2 clips I've seen on sm one she's moaning about wearing tights, the other she's going on about the Sussex bit. It's their family name blah blaaahh.

Wouldn't it have been refreshing if she could have managed a show without referring to her 'royal experience'. So tedious, I'm surprised the Americans lap it up. You'd think one of her perma grinning interviewers would challenge her and suggest 'you know hun, the tights sound horrid but look at the platform the whole thing gave you, you'd be doing crap adverts on cable if it wasn't for those nasty Windsors'.

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 27/08/2025 08:04

The most interesting part of all of this is that the last thread had 1001 replies.

Was it always meant to drop in August? I thought it was going to be in the Autumn, which is a better month for watching TV 🍂 🍁 🌧️

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 27/08/2025 08:17

Although I have laughed at the American Tabloids saying Taylor Swift will be their version of a royal wedding.

And that's the problem, there is just no relevance anymore. They showed their cards and burnt their bridges, and are middle aged.

The world is much more enthralled with youth.

Thedom · 27/08/2025 08:27

I don't believe the Americans are lapping it up @Janiie , not since the early days of Oprah and Netflix.

The initial PR induced interest in her show and products has totally died off, even their crazy in house PR machine is not hitting the spot anymore, the more she has put herself out there, the more obvious it is how unlikeable she is. She comes across as such an egomaniac, self satisfied and one of the most inauthentic persons on the celebrity circuit.

I am only watching snippets of the show when they pop up, but she has not one scrap of charisma, she just can’t hold a presenting or core role in any type of a show that depends on engagement, she cannot carry it off.

Anyway, she has her little band of nasty fans to continue to give her some sense of self satisfaction, which is such a sad indictment of where she has landed.

MrsLeonFarrell · 27/08/2025 08:31

I had a look at the As Ever site and it says you can only buy 6 of each item. Were people buying multiples before? I would expect stuff to turn up on Ebay if they had.

Taylor and Travis have worked hard to get where they are and seem pleasant people who give back to others. That's how you get to be American royalty, not claiming 35 years of service when you are 40.

Vespanest · 27/08/2025 08:34

It would be helpful if her PR would have advised her to drop this authenticity crap. Unless the authenticity is regarding being an authentically staged influencer. How many takes did it need to get Lilibet to kiss a poster without once looking at the person "spontaneously" filming. The problem with ratings is that many of those who are more interested in the faux pas are that it's much more interesting seeing the clips on SM. They have learnt from season 1. Being ex military I had to wear nude tights, luckily it's more trousers now, it had zero impact on the authenticity of my character, just my wallet.

Janiie · 27/08/2025 08:40

'I don't believe the Americans are lapping it up'

Let's hope not.

Who was the last grinning, breathless interviewer Jamie someone 'I've got shivers' or similar Confused.

I know it'll be part of the deal that they can't say wtf are you on about, the nude tights episode gave you the celeb status you are currently flogging but even a subtle dig like that magazine the Cut where they seemed to be having a quiet snigger.

Bontonbonbon · 27/08/2025 08:40

Not the nude tights again! Does she have nothing else to talk about?

The whole thing is so dreary and self destructive.

What does interest me is that she was asked directly in one of the interviews to make a comment on Trump and refused. She is apparently apolitical. Which is a very strange stance for someone who has been set up as an activist and humanitarian. The refuse to condemn Trump sure scraps off the last of her justice warrior veneer.

If you’re popular- you don’t even have to say you’re popular
If you’re classy- you would never ever say you're ‘classy’
If you’re authentic- you would never ever have to use the word authentic to describe yourself.

If you have to tell people any of these things….then you ain’t any of them.

My god, just read that article, that Chang guy is another nasty piece of work, how do these bullies get a platform? Never heard of him before, but these bullies do seem to gravitate to each other, Ellen, Chrissy, Chang, Mulroney, Meghan, Harry, that horrible English comedian, Scobie, et al,, what a group of friends to have😵‍💫

Janiie · 27/08/2025 08:47

How does markle think people cope who have to wear a uniform for work, who may <whispers> have to wear tights. I mean it's all just so horrific. I can't imagine how you get to her age and only just found about about such things as a dress code for work.

I was thinking the same. The fact that Meghan's show dropped on the same day as Taylor announced her engagement really showed up how irrelevant she is. Her cringe inducing, nearly decade old stories about how her balding 40 year old husband said 'I love you' just seem a bit pathetic next to the photos of a hot young couple, who actually have talent and achievements of their own. Taylor's Insta post racked up more 'likes' than Meghan has followers in mere minutes. That's a star.

I really think Meghan should just give up on the idea of being a 'celebrity'. It's now painfully obvious that without the royal allure, she simply doesn't have much to offer.

Yes, remember all the talk about how Meghan was just too outspoken and political to be constrained by royal protocol? That was fine for boring Kate, but not independent feminist American Meghan! She had a 'voice' and was not going to be stopped from using it!

Well, now she's free to say whatever she likes, and all she seems interested in is complaining about having to wear tights 7 years ago. There's just not much there, is there?

They are shit scared of what Trump might say or do about Harry’s visa. she apparently said in response to that question, that she hasn’t said anything political since before Harry, she has clearly forgotten about her recent lobbying of politicians and cold calling random politicians, supporting her husband in his criticism of the US constitution, touring and supporting politically corrupt countries, and their ongoing involvement with the Aspen Institute.

jamnpancakes · 27/08/2025 09:27

She's now saying that Sussex is a name they use " roughly or loosely" as their surname now. Her legal name is Meghan, Duchess of Sussex 🙄This is from an interview with Emily Chang to promote the second season of the show.

PullTheBricksDown · 27/08/2025 09:29

Taylor Swift is 35 so doesn't really fit into the 'youth' category either. She is likeable though, has a work ethic - as opposed to just saying how hard she works - and has earned her own money.

Timing strikes again for Meghan. Though a good product would cut through. August is an odd time for release. It's the TV dead zone.

jamnpancakes · 27/08/2025 09:30

Sorry - to add . Meghan admitted that Sussex is not a last name. It seems yet again she throws these things out in the heat of the moment and then has to go on to elaborate eg the wedding three days earlier.

AtIusvue · 27/08/2025 09:31

Her title is The Duchess of Sussex. PR have obviously thought to themselves……we need to make Meg accessible to the US market and retain royal links….so opted for the title that would indicate that she’s divorced and thus using the title incorrectly.

I saw her in that interview and she was so evasive over the question. No megs, your surname is Mountbatten-Windsor. What a tool.

No, Janiie, it's only Meghan who has had to follow a dress code. Her code seemed to involve bespoke designer gear as well as tights, though. Perhaps the Dior and Givenchy were authentic for her. What torture, eh?

I find it really strange. Is she just very impulsive, or not very aware?

Yeah. No mention that she was Vice President of The Commonwealth Trust.
That's an incredible role and an amazing opportunity.

bluegreygreen · 27/08/2025 09:35

That interview was strange - she said her 'legal' name is Meghan, Duchess of Sussex - and totally avoided the passport question.

Edited

That can't possibly be true, can it? She's not a British citizen and even if she was, her Duchess title is only a courtesy title with no legal significance. She's either Markle or Mountbatten Windsor. Sussex is not a legal surname.

Why even bring it up anyway? What relevance does her family name have to, well anything really?

FleurDeFleur · 27/08/2025 09:39

I wonder if it's all a pre emptive strike? The title is everything to her.
Perhaps she's worried, somewhere down the line, it may get removed.
