Continuing the on from the As ever thread

  • Funny article from Jan Moir

https://archive.ph/UfTPx

  • Turns out Chrissy wasn’t the only known bully that Meg invited onto the show. David Chang has serious anger issues and has bullied staff

https://www.standard.co.uk/culture/tvfilm/meghan-markle-s-shameless-pr-stunt-with-david-chang-is-disgusting-b1244549.html

  • Megs new show hasn’t appeared in the Top ten on NF in the UK or US, which she had done for the first series. NF aren’t promoting it other that in the ‘new this week’ section. You also have to scroll along to find it.
  • No stock sold out yet

Meghan Markle’s shameless PR stunt with David Chang is disgusting

The first episode of With Love, Meghan season two has a nasty jumpscare

The DM recounting some of the nonsensical crap she comes out with.

“She continued: 'And I, and I just think there really is a lot of value to when you anchor into your own knowing”

WTF, ‘’ anchor your knowing. ‘ , poor Harry, he doesn’t stand a chance with her bamboozling him with utter rubbish.

Cynic17 · 27/08/2025 14:08

Re the names thing, does Harry really not understand that Meghan, Duchess of Sussex indicates a divorcee? Surely he only has to look at his aunt (Sarah, Duchess of York) and more pertinently his sainted mother (Diana, Princess of Wales)? He either knows nor cares incredibly little about his own family traditions and rules.

That interview she's given is terrible. I could only watch it for a few minutes it was so unbearable.

She speaks in weird, empty, circular, self help, positive thinking type slogans, that have zero content but aim to portray herself as thriving and interesting.

I'm living my story.
I'm authentic to my truth.
Type clap trap.

I literally cannot listen to people who speak like this and do not understand why everyone isn't going WTF are you talking about? You sound deranged. Stop it. Be normal.

But people like the interviewer do seem to take her seriously or act as if she's talking normally. Why??

It seems to be an American thing. Are there British celebs who do this?

But also it's a certain type of out dated celeb thing. Those who think its still 2018 and we're impressed by 'Manifesting' or 'mindfulness' and act like sages who have wisdom to impart.

Katie Perry for example became a laughing stock when she tried after being an astronaut to be deep and wise, and just sounded like an empty headed idiot.

Basically she's dated. She's acting like a mega celeb circa 2015 when she's really a has been 2025.

Meg, no one talks like that anymore.
You sound like a old fashioned loon. It's over.

Yeah, totally agree. She's a good decade behind trend. She doesn't seem to get that 'celebrity culture' peaked several years ago. The way she talks is cringe even for California. 'Anchored in your knowing' or some such gobbledygook?

These days people are cynical about celebrities and expect them to earn their keep in an overcrowded marketplace. What really does Meghan have to offer? Apricot spread, tired royal 'anecdotes' and pictures of the backs of her children's heads?

It's always a puzzle with him, though. He appears to know very little about his family, UK traditions and the Constitutional Monarchy. It's like he's got wilful ignorance.

Is it not because the most important part ( in her eyes) is the name Meghan therefore that goes first ?
But yes , Meghan , Duchess of Sussex indicates a divorcee .

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 27/08/2025 14:33

Taylor's Insta post racked up more 'likes' than Meghan has followers in mere minutes. That's a star.

If you ever needed a clearer reminder of the different leagues they are in!

I must admit I didn't realise TS was 35- but she has a relevance that no one in the RF has

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · 27/08/2025 15:51

Won't wear tights, but is happy to appear in public wearing all manner of hideously ill-fitting, inappropriate, unironed garments. WTF is that yellow outfit in her recent interview all about?

Very much enjoyed her being interviewed in a bookshop and then saying she doesn't read.

It does sum it up. Why doesn't the interviewer say yes but surely we all have to follow dress codes at work and follow policies and procedures?

She previously said she'd hosted the then Cambridges in ripped jeans and bare feet so clearly these apparently dreadful tight rules didn't extend to private time?

Everytime they have an opportunity to present themselves as being reasonable and relatable they make utter tits of themselves.

BasiliskStare · 27/08/2025 16:19

I think the problem is that H&M will never agree to an interview with people who might ask them hard questions. Or even lightly question their answers. I think they think , if they say it , it is true. But only agreeing to soft interviews just makes other people examine the answers all the more. Frankly , I don't think they care and live in their own little bubble of Harry and Meghan world.

Any way I did against my better judgment watch the flower arranging bit of WLM. I like flowers. I had to switch it straight off afterwards as the fawning and her voice just grates on me. But I do have to say "Ikebana , my arse" . Not the deepest of comments I know but I do speak as one whose mother did actual lessons in flower arranging many moons ago and won a 1st prize for her ikebana arrangement . ( local town , not Chelsea Flower Show , for full disclosure. 😂 )

I know, if you knew you were being interviewed in a bookstore , one that you have been publicly linked to, you would prepare to be asked about what you read surely?
Did it not occur to her that this would be a topic of conversation? She has no forethought. Even if I wasn’t currently reading a book I would at least have genned up on something current to speak about with some knowledge.
Where is the so called attention detail? It comes through in nothing that she says or does.

Hollywood Reporter. Not impressed

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-features/with-love-meghan-season-2-review-1236353919/

‘In fact, I’d wager audiences wouldn’t mind Markle slyly reminding us how broke we are through her lavish California-country living — is it not that unattainability that has led viewers to tune into 10 iterations of the Real Housewives franchise for two decades? But rather than fully lean into her reality, it’s as though Markle is trying to occupy the space of the middle class that we as a society know no longer exists — and she wouldn’t be a part of anyway — making the twice-failed attempt at relatability in the series all the more painful to watch, again.’

I think she’s saying Megs…… inauthentic 😂

With Love, Meghan Season 2 Review

‘With Love, Meghan’ Sticks to Original Recipe in Season 2 (Unfortunately)

Season one of the Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix series should’ve served as a taste test; instead, the host and executive producer’s lack of substitutions makes for an equally bland second season.

I’ve seen on Twitter it was number 75 on Netflix. I don’t think people are even hate/nosey watching it now.
i watched a few of the first part to see how terrible it was, I don’t need to see more. Wonder if they will still bother with a Christmas special.

I think the correct title for her would be Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, with the form she uses (without 'The') the one used on divorce.

Princess Meghan of Sussex would only be possible if she herself was royal, rather than having married royalty (e.g. Princess Beatrice of York).

No wonder her writing 'career' never got beyond 'The Bench, where life began'.

I think she really is very vacuous, not at all the 'whip smart' feminist we were told about. Perhaps she and Harry aren't such a huge intellectual mismatch after all.

The Christmas special is likely already in the can, so NF might as well throw it out there.

However, I think we can safely say that unless there's a 'divorce special' or other royal related programme in the works, we're not going to see much from 'Archewell Productions' in the future.

smilesy · 27/08/2025 11:55

Totally agree with this. Why is wearing tights when you are “on duty” not being authentic and why does it even matter? She really doesn’t understand that being part of the firm is seen by those within it as “a job”. So they have a “uniform” (which admittedly is probably going to evolve now that the late Queen has died). No one was forcing Meghan to wear tights in the comfort of her own home when she was not “on duty”. So it really is of no significance to her if she was required to wear them in her public facing role. Did she not wear a costume when she was in suits? And as many pp have said, lots of us are required to wear certain things and behave in a certain way when at work. So the same was required of the Duchess of Sussex. Big deal

Princess Diana stopped wearing tights and the sensible thing to do would be to ‘toe’ the line to start with, then give them up.
But Meghan complained that she wasn’t being paid for her appearances, so didn’t see it as a job.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 27/08/2025 16:59

I don't understand why she has to make a big thing about her name all of the time. Can she really not "get it" that titles are not necessarily surnames?

I can understand some confusion, @Lunde, when she comes from a culture who reject these sort of titles completely, but then what the hell's the point in using them at all if it's the US market she's going for?

It doesn't make sense, but then very little of it does

She's The Duchess of Sussex. That is all.
The title would only include her forename if she were to divorce, as pp have said.
Like Sarah and Diana, and - more recently - Serena, Countess of Snowdon.

StrawberryWasp · 27/08/2025 18:15

Why is she obsessed with her name and title?
I'm a Dr Maiden Name and when at work sign and refer to myself as such.

In other situations I sometimes get called Mrs Maiden name or Mrs husbands name and I don't really mind unless it's relevant such as signing papers etc.

Titles say nothing about who you are. They refer to a role you take on. She rejected the role but feels the title still reflects something about her.

It's like me retiring and insisting everyone still calls me Dr Wasp. It may be correct, and I can do it, but unless I'm working as a Dr is it necessary or important to keep correcting everyone?

Those pair are the biggest egotists imaginable and they think their titles say something about them.

In reality the fact they still use them and talk about them says everything.
They really are numpties.

FleurDeFleur · 27/08/2025 18:32

So true, @StrawberryWasp . It's very interesting how important the title is to her, and to them. They're really very royal indeed, aren't they? The worst kind; they love the titles and the wealth and the privilege. Just not the work.

BoudiccaRuled · 27/08/2025 18:35

It also explains how she manages to put up with him and why they aren't bored, doing/achieving nothing. Borderline idiots, the pair of them 😬

FitatFifty · 27/08/2025 18:42

The title is the only unique thing she has now (in America), nothing else.
The weird endless tales of their ‘love’ as a selling point is just odd. Obviously it appeals to their fans but why would anyone else be interested, see it as inspiring some way.

StrawberryWasp · 27/08/2025 18:56

They would seem way cooler if they ditched their titles and didn't care.

There is something so brittle about her.
And so needy about him.

Remember when they briefly flirted with the 'just call me Harry' approach? They could only keep that up for 5 minutes before they reverted to: I'm a Duchess don't you know. And pretend royal tours.
Such numpties.
