As per the DM, we are told Meg is using Fairwinds Estate winery for her rose. Sounds nice.
But a Reddit user has discovered, that Fairwinds winery is just a brand under the umbrella of Wine gift shop. They do corporate gifts and print on demand. Oh Meg, as ever

This is the original ranch dressing recipe courtesy of the NY times. Americans do use lots of dry herbs. Like on the commenters for the recipe, I am a huge fan of Penzeys spices.

https://archive.ph/WgEIM

I like it if people grow, dry and crush their own herbs, chilli peppers etc - I think the US has such a rich tradition of this. (I watch American you tube videos - far more useful and entertaining than M fake-picking fruit and rose stems.)

Meg has not tapped into this traditional culture of respecting the land and harvest in the slightest. It’s all pick/buy, use once, chuck, create garbage.

Genuine question - does it matter if it’s a ‘white label’ product? She’s just selling some stuff with marketing and whatnot, which is pretty normal. Regarding the wine, it has to be someone else’s wine with her label on as presumably starting her own vineyard isn’t on the plan for this year!

It doesn't matter at all that is a white label product. The problem, for Meghan, lies in her messaging. She recently posted a film of her picking fruit and making jam in a kitchen. All her Instagram messaging is about her founding a company and shows her making things at home. But her products aren't home made and they aren't made by a company she founded, they are labelled by As Ever.

This leaves her with a credibility gap and frankly makes her an easy target for the tabloids who love highlighting the gaps between what a celebrity claims and the reality. It works if the re labelled products are connected with a programme like Bridgerton because no one expects fictional character to make their own jam. We know it's all about the label and sold for fans. But Meghan is an individual who is also selling her labels to fans whilst presenting them in her publicity as home made products.

Maybe she really believed she had founded a company but, compared to the people she interviewed on her podcast, what has she actually founded? Nice labels?

Weepixie · 30/06/2025 07:43

I read that article about the jam very early this morning and couldn’t wait for you all to wake up and see it.

Weepixie · 30/06/2025 07:47

How many enhanced photos of a female founder does it take to pick an apricot?

nice one!

I couldn’t sleep last night and have been doom scrolling, the amount of references I’ve come across to the upside apricot has been quite telling. Meghan really does have to cotton on to the fact that the wider audience is way more aware of her nonsense than her blinded by the light fans.

Rust belt raspberry spread. At least it’s providing local jobs in Illinois. Meg could lean into that I suppose, go for the Bernie Sanders plaudits.

I wonder where her labels are printed? Does she get a dozen a time from the machine in the local mall, or send off for them? They could be ‘authentically SoCal’, from the LA KwikkiPrint.

CurlewKate · 30/06/2025 07:55

coolmum123 · 29/06/2025 21:33

@CurlewKate woukd you mind sharing the recipe please? I love ranch dressing but don’t like the supermarket ones. 😞

I see others have shared their recipes- sorry, I’ve been in my garden gathering dill. This is the one I use. Half cup each of sour cream, mayo and milk. Whisk. Add I tsp each of white vinegar, lemon juice and dried dill and a crushed clove of garlic. Whisk. Stir in I tbs each of finely chopped chives, chopped parsley and dill(if you have it). Salt and pepper to taste. This is quite a runny dressing- if you’re looking for a thicker dip use half the milk.

Vespanest · 30/06/2025 08:01

It goes with this stupid perception that as long as you don't verbally say something it's not a lie. Meghans living by the truth seems to include a shit load of deception. Meghan chose to do a pod cast series on her founder status. Tells the world how busy she is. I don't care if you lie to my face or let me believe a misconception knowing it's not true, I'll view it the same. Imagine sitting there with a straight face accusing others are lying . The most overused word with Meghan and Harry - hypocrisy

smilesy · 30/06/2025 08:08

Wonky labels

Serenster · 30/06/2025 08:09

Of course there is nothing wrong with a white-labelling business. But I agree Meghan hasn’t helped herself by insisting that when you buy her product, you are getting a bespoke experience. This seems inconsistent with the production journeys of her products.

For example, just before she launched her first drop of products:

“‘All the fruit came from Harry and Meghan's home garden in Montecito,' the source told The Daily Mail last night”

And now, just before she launches her wine:

A source said: 'Every time she had friends over she would test the different blends out on them and then give notes back to the expert winemaker that it needed more of this, or less of that. This is a custom-made wine.'

Mere advertising puffery, or misleading? People are free to make their own mind up.

onehorserace · 30/06/2025 08:10

So her spread, honey etc are all made by a giant factory who also make the Bridgerton jam in Illinois.

What a big sham!

More fool the people who allegedly have flocked to buy these " sell out" products.

onehorserace · 30/06/2025 08:12

Let's be honest though only idiots would have thought it was made by her 🤷‍♀️

The Mail tracked down the winemaker and my understanding from the article was that celebrities or companies were just putting their labels on her wine. It wasn’t a bespoke thing.

Doesn't it take months to make wine ? It's not like making a stew where you can add a bit more seasoning. Once the process has started I'm not sure you can just add more of this or less of that.

Weepixie · 30/06/2025 08:24

After four years of part-time study, my husband is training to be an oenologist and he would find this idea that you tell the winemaker "more of this, less of that" quite hilarious. It's just not how it's done.

Yes, what is this ‘blended’ rosé wine, made after the wines are finished and bottled?

Like student party punch? Add a slug of vodka, why not.

I don't think they are good at it, they are just extremely good at getting away with it.

MrsLeonFarrell · 30/06/2025 08:54

So I went to look at the upside down peach, which i hadn't noticed. It looks as if she held a rope, so bought peach next to the ones on her tree which aren't ripe yet. Whatever.

Then I noticed her hat has an M on it. I'm beginning to wonder if their clothing is all labelled because they can't remember their own names. I've got to a great age without needing initials on my clothing.

It’s all extremely bad for the environment too.

No one in mainstream media holds them to account. Plenty of SM commentators have, though, like the lady who discovered the meta data on the tea that the DM then repeated without attributing her as a source. The MSM have sat back and let them do the hard yards and also take most of the flack, cherry picking what they want to from their research. And that's why H&M are so interested in controlling free speech on SM through The Aspen Institute, the Parent Network etc, whilst happily leaking stories to traditional media. They regard any SM criticism of them as "hate" that needs to be shut down. There's a reason Christopher Bouzy has crawled out of the woodwork recently to take up their cause again.

I don't like her hat <contributes insightful and nuanced post to the conversation >

This might be the 'family' hat. I'm sure I saw a photo of four monogrammed/named hats they'd commissioned and Harry wore his to the Beyonce concert.
I say they commissioned them but the hats could just as likely been ordered from a 'Not On The High Street' kind of business.
