Just what planet is he on? Why on earth would his kids mental health be affected by this?

The kids clearly know nothing about the story or who P Diddy is. If he is saying that his bad mental health has then affected his children….then he needs to stop reading stories about himself! Ffs, what a twat.

Harry claimed that the article and others published by the Sun and the Sun on Sunday had “a hugely negative impact on his mental health and that of his wife and children”.

Prince Harry accused the Sun of printing story linking him to P Diddy out of revenge

Exclusive: court documents reveal Harry claimed front page story and other articles had ‘hugely negative impact on his mental health and that of his wife and children’

... which he claims his father never did.
Until people found pictures of it on the internet.

Quelle surprise 😂

Yes. Living constantly from one headline to the next, looking for reasons for anger, bitterness and victimhood. It's so unhealthy.

I just wonder where it will end. It seems to be ratcheting up all the time. It’s like ‘look at ME! Look at ME!!!! ‘. I don’t think either of them can bear to be unimportant or insignificant. They will do anything to get attention. I can’t see the situation improving as they get older. I can only see it getting worse and worse. What will Harry be like at 60? I dread to think.

FenellaFeldman · 17/05/2025 17:28

That's the danger of constantly seeking celebrity and living out some strange victimhood drama. I can't see how it will all end.

I know the ChatGPT stuff is aimed at laughing at H&M, but I think it's a step too far to make it write about the kids as the main subject.

I do have sympathy with this. I also think it is obvious in context posters were exaggerating for comic effect. So mostly I would agree with you about not bringing the children into it but part of me thinks , in context it is obvious the children aren't being got at or directly commenting on them. I feel similarly when I think about commenting on them as rubbish parents or H's current MH. Who knows. But if it taken from their own words or SM , well perhaps different.

What I do think is as a pp said , there is going to be a hell of lot more out there for A&L to read when they are old enough which will kick some comment about P.Diddy (the Sun itself saying H was not accused of wrongdoing) into the long grass.

I do find interesting is that as a few posters have said if the children are "on parade" at times to do a bit of an instagram will they remember this . When my son was young even FB wasn't a thing so we took photos or Granny did but by and large those are still in boxes to be sorted out. A bit later on they started being uploaded so we could declutter , but a lot of people I know don't put their children - or nowadays in my circle , grandchildren on SM. I think some do though. So I wonder just how different the Sussex childrens' experience is. Probably more photos than eg Noah & Apple , or Helena Bonham Carter's children ( to pluck a name out of the air) - not sure

Just catching up.

I do hope that no discussion on P Diddy took place with a 5 year old. That would be shocking.
I’m not sure why he felt it necessary to even mention his children.

PH focus for years now has been all about airing past grievances, making unnecessary and unfounded accusations, slaying dragons and ensuring he paints himself as the victim each and every time. All consuming and all so negative.

Part of the reason he left the RF and the U.K. was, as he said, ‘to break the cycle of genetic pain and suffering’ He really needs to stop with all the negativity otherwise he will be creating his very own cycle of genetic pain and suffering and he won’t realise until it’s too late.

He is an idiot.

IMHO, H has already created "genetic pain" as H&M's indiscretions have been immortalised on social media and will likely have repercussions for A&L.

H's kids will enter middle school (Grades 6-8) where kids typically range from 11-13 years old. Tweens can be perfectly horrid to each other as their social media skills often outstrip their emotional intelligence.

For example, A&L's peers will know that their father H, rubbed Elizabeth Arden cream on his frost-bitten todger while thinking of their famous paternal grandmother. I doubt that A&L's tween peer group will be backwards in sharing their opinion of that incident with A&L.

Next it will be him contemplating ending his life.

We can hope the media will have lost interest in the two of them by then. The young Waleses will be well into adulthood and the focus will be on them. We might have had three royal weddings which H&M won't be invited to and some new royal babies by then. And almost certainly a coronation too, which they probably also won't be invited to. All much more interesting and attractive than an ageing pair of has-beens.

There'll be a whole generation reaching adulthood who will barely know who H&M are. A friend of mine was a secondary school teacher who retired twelve years ago. Well before she retired, she said the girls she taught didn't know who Diana was.

Let us very much hope not. Whatever I think of him I would not wish this on anyone. By which I mean thinking about and doing it.

FenellaFeldman · 17/05/2025 18:26

Good points, @HonoriaBulstrode . I wonder if this is partly why they're so desperate to stay in the headlines? They possibly fear irrelevance as their connection to the RF diminishes? Meghan will be 44 this year, Harry 41. They need to think about the future. This can't continue.

Quite. And I would imagine should he ever get to that awful state of mind, his Pa and family would get him home and properly looked after, whatever has happened. God forbid it would ever occur. His dad loves him, for all his hurtful nonsense.

Uricon2 · 17/05/2025 18:59

I wish more than anything that H&M could find a way of living in peace and yes, if possible making it right with their families (certainly the RF and perhaps Thomas Markle)

I'm Diana's age and for all her many mistakes I think she was a loving mother and would be horrified by the current situation. I also have no doubt that Charles loves Harry and would want to make things right. The whole thing must be very distressing for him but so much hurt has been publically caused by eg the Oprah interview and Spare (etc) that it is incumbent on H&M to demonstrate that they can be trusted not to assault the Monarchy further, or any reconciliation will not work.

FenellaFeldman · 17/05/2025 19:01

I would hope so, @Uricon2 . I always think that reconciliation is possible, but it has to be worked on and it has to be sincere. I really do hope it happens.

‘Get him home’. He is a man his forties who has completely embarrassed and disgraced his family. He lives abroad. Home is with his wife and children. It’s time he started behaving like a father not a spoilt child.

Perhaps he considers them the only sympathy card he has left to play, @iamatorturedpoet?

Most of the other ones he's tried have turned out to be overblown at best and downright lies at worst, but the kids aren't yet in a position to give their own accounts so can be used with impunity

Agree - the children are the last thing he has left to weaponise for his victimhood whilst for MM the children are the last roll of the dice for her to monetise for $$$$.

Two conflicting narratives - one emotionally injured and hurting family another an idyllic family life in paradise.

Perhaps their PR gurus need to get their heads together to align their key communications strategies.

sleetysnowflakes · 17/05/2025 19:45

Because they are the only people in the world who have children of course…. Can you imagine anyone else saying, the papers shouldn’t write about me because I’m a parent Boris Johnson, Simon cowell, Gary Linneker? It suggests he doesn’t really understand the concept of a free press, and that people in the public eye, like him, will get reported about.

@BasiliskStare You’ve got your biblical heavyweights confused there - I think it’s Moses not Noah (and Apple)

Crispynoodle · 17/05/2025 20:53

I rather think their mental health will be challenged when they’re older and read everything that’s happened. They’re a Prince and princess of the Uk, their uncle will be King then their cousin I rather think they’re going to be rather annoyed that they were cut off from that side of the family given time

It’s interesting how people still talk about him as though he were a particularly recalcitrant adolescent, isn’t it?

She's called Meredith Maines. Snap on the MM initial ☺ A match made in heaven.

@Puzzledandpissedoff It’s quite the card because I always thought the children were his red line. It now seems there may be some flexibility there 🙄

Can you imagine discovering your grandfather who you barely or never met was the King of the United Kingdom and its realms? And that your heritage was a 1200 year dynasty of the most famous royal family in the world? It would be mind blowing, and if I was Archie or Lily as an adult I would be livid that my parents kept me away from that. We’ve all seen Meghan discover her heritage in Nigeria and how apparently it was so important to her, I wonder if she ever gives a thought to how her children might feel about discovering their heritage or will their minds have been so poisoned by Harry and Meghan they won’t care?
