Okay. So first of all thanks to everyone on the last thread for a really civilised discussion about Harry and his security. The Telegraph has an exclusive article where Harry claims that his security was removed to “trap” him in the RF. I’m really sorry but for some reason I am unable to archive Telegraph articles at the moment. Could anyone help?

No, it definitely wasn't as security in the UK is assigned by the Home Office on a need-to-have-basis, the RF have no say in the matter. The HO have consistently stated there is no Intel to suggest Harry's life is in danger when he is in England. If it were, he would be assigned it automatically.

i can only assume the man is having a psychotic break of some sort ….the only person to have increased his security risk is HIM, through his utterly awful statements & admissions in his awful “biography”/fictionalised victim monologue. The only person apparently left in his “inner circle” is his wife - why is she not getting him help?!

There we go again...Harry gets press coverage for his Ukraine visit and court case, so Markle (who launched her podcast on the day the court case started) has to do something to get herself in the press. She always does this. Does he not realise his own wife always works to eclipse him? They are bonkers, the pair of them. Imagine how their kids are going to turn out!

I wonder what his counsel think of him blabbing to the press, I was a witness (victim) a few years ago in a trial and was explicitly told not to speak to anyone outside of family about it until the trial was over.

There was a lot of minimising and indeed concealment. However, before Meghan, Harry still had support systems and occupations : his regimental patronages, the involvement with Invictus when it was still focused on British (and US) veterans of recent conflicts, the charity ‘initiatives’ with W&C. If Harry is in Ukraine and Meghan and her pals are in NY - who has the kids? Do they have a separate security team?

Only when he is visiting UK. Not when is in us or elsewhere. It's in the uk that he feels unsafe and he wants high level security so he can bring his family (his thoughts not mine)

I find it hard to understand how Harry can’t conceive of the difficulties of having the Met protection while he actually lives in another country!

for a start they don’t have police powers out there and wouldn’t be allowed to carry weapons (outside of the rules that apply to the normal public). While he was a member of the RF then the country they’re visiting takes responsibility for security and arranges to have the Met come over but that’s completely different to living there.

plus he expects the Met officers to do what a 6 week tour away from their families? Completely unreasonable and that’s before you consider what the taxpayers might actually think about funding it!

I just can't believe Charles continuing to not reconcile despite his cancer which surely must bring mortality in perspective? Does he not want to know his other grandkids? It all seems so hateful. I really don't feel what H said in interviews or books is so unforgivable. Not by a parent. Sad all around

Maybe he has reached out and Harry hasn't welcomed it. Maybe Harry has caused so much hurt that the king doesn't feel able to. Maybe he's afraid of upsetting William?

He can't rock up in the US. Harry is the one who caused this rift, and Harry is the one keeping the grandchildren alien to their grandpa.

Of course it’s not at the level as when he worked for our Government representing the UK, he chose not to do that anymore so his security is on a case by case basis when he visits the UK, he is not the heir, he is not the spare, he is not even a working royal and even the working royals don’t get round the clock security, only on official business, it would be absurd for someone who fits non of the above to get the same security as the King or Prince William, he made his bed, he can go and lie in it.

The Royal family have no say in how the security is handled, its not up to them. Apparently the queen went so far as to write to ravec in support of Harry's security, which if true is pretty huge when you consider a non-committal short sentence from her is thought to have swung the Scottish independence referendum.

While Harry has active legal cases in the UK, Charles has to be very careful not to be placed in a position where he could be accused of using his influence to interfere, hence I think not seeing him. The constitutional crisis that would result at the mere suggestion he was interfering in a judicial process would be huge.

These are not family matters, these are matters of state.
