The royal family

Harry and RAVEC - claims he was trapped by RF

Okay. So first of all thanks to everyone on the last thread for a really civilised discussion about Harry and his security. The Telegraph has an exclusive article where Harry claims that his security was removed to “trap” him in the RF. I’m really sorry but for some reason I am unable to archive Telegraph articles at the moment. Could anyone help?

But not the level he had before. And that's what he wants.
May be it's like a divorced woman asking for alimony to be at a level that would ensure the lifestyle she was used to before the divorce? Would that he such a bad thing?

That analogy doesn't work unless the husband is expecting the tax payer to keep his ex wife in the lifestyle she was used to before divorce.

What Harry is asking for is the taxpayer to keep him in the lifestyle he had before when he was a U.K. resident and a working royal. Because he isnt that anymore he has a bespoke arrangement that takes into account the new lifestyle that he has as a non working royal resident outside of the U.K.

He can't have his cake and eat it, something which he seems to have a problem getting his head around.

In December of 2024 a woman was set on fire in a subway train by a man who sat down and calmly watched her burn to death.

Last night a man died on a train. Another man robbed his body, then raped it. NYC commuters are having increasingly scary commutes yet police are wasted on the Sussexes. This is Adam' s last term. The police Commissioner needs to go, too.

@BemusedAmerican I don't even know what to say.

OMG Bemused, that is shocking!!

DH and I were in NYC last September. It's an amazing city. I noticed a huge increase since we were there 6 years previously in people clearly mentally unwell/on something in the streets, some of them wandering along muttering, "fuck you, fuck you"! One such guy approached DH for a cigarette and he said no. Well a torrent of abuse followed for DH and his "lady friend". Unfortunately the "lady friend' isn't such a lady and retorted in kind to the insult. So then we got, "I'm going to stab you!" Weirdly I wasn't afraid - I am probably an arse!! - but I did duck into Bath and Body Works until he went away. He was in such a state that I could probably have pushed him over with one finger!

I'm a bit scared of the subway and have never gone on it. I'm usually alone as DH has been there for work so I just walk. My DCs tracked me on my phone last time as I have a terrible sense of direction and am not good at using GoogleMaps!! I found myself nearly in New Jersey one day last time 😂

BemusedAmerican · 12/04/2025 02:58

It has gotten much worse under Adams. I've have scary experiences literally every week. I have a job with lots of interactions with the public, and in the past year, coworkers have been attacked and threatened. One coworker is trying to get us all to take up kickboxing.

I did find that Post article to be very snarky as well as the comments 😁

BemusedAmerican · 12/04/2025 03:01

If you go back to NYC download the CityMapper app. It will give you walking as well as subway and bus directions. I always get lost in Brooklyn and this app makes it much easier.

We don't know that. May be his PA or his brother (ex brother) wrote to Ravec to deny him protection? Who knows. As he said it shocked him. May be he will write this in the second book.
I just can't believe Charles continuing to not reconcile despite his cancer which surely must bring mortality in perspective? Does he not want to know his other grandkids? It all seems so hateful. I really don't feel what H said in interviews or books is so unforgivable. Not by a parent. Sad all around

KC warned him he wouldn't accept public criticism of Camilla. So H criticised her in a book and had it published. KC said he'd crossed a line.

MrsLeonFarrell · 12/04/2025 07:10

I'm not going to repeat what I wrote on the last thread, but this article does confirm me in my belief that this whole case is evidence of Harry's paranoia and mental health problems rather than actual facts. Shame on his barristers for taking advantage of him.

Anyway, it did strike me that one of his demands was to see the information on which risk assessments are based. I can't see that happening. Would you show confidential information about security to someone who looks at court documents and then runs straight out to brief the media?

I agree with a PP that this might be evidence that he has been told he is going to lose, that he can't appeal, and is escalating in response.

MrsLeonFarrell · 12/04/2025 07:11

The only solid evidence i can see is evidence that Harry is unaware we no longer have an absolute monarch. I can't believe he thinks his dad can simply order the courts and police to do things.

NewAgeNewMe · 12/04/2025 07:16

tothelefttotheleft · 12/04/2025 00:03

@NewAgeNewMe

The whole point is he didn't apply for the role as you do a job.

He was born into something.

i used to work for my family firm, along with siblings & cousins. I had a company car and health insurance. When I left I was no longer entitled to them even though I was the daughter of one of them.

Same principle. I’m still part of the family, I didn’t throw a hissy fit that I could no longer have them as I’m a grown up. Harry has been coddled for too long.

God only knows what he’ll be like when William becomes king.

NautilusLionfish · 12/04/2025 00:47

What? Once women give birth they should spend their days looking after children and never ever go out again?

You are misrepresenting what the poster said. Both parents have equal responsibility for the children and both are entitled to have time away from the home.
Ideally H would be at home with the children whilst Meghan went to NYC and vice versa.

It does suggest a lack of co-ordination in their diaries for both parents to be away at separate events on the same night.

How can he be so ill informed and unaware?
I also think he's not just bitter, but paranoid.

It is in no one’s interest for H or his family to be harmed, RAVEC is best placed to decide his security risks and security requirements. KC and PoW know what the optics would be if anyone in the family tried to reduce H’s security.

Reconciliation takes two parties with both making the effort. Why is it all on KC? H could visit with his family and, provided he gave notice, would be given security. H has visited alone several times and been given security.

NewAgeNewMe · 12/04/2025 07:38

The government should do him a favour and have him & his DCs removed from the line of succession, remove the titles including Prince. At the same time remove Andrew. Not going to happen but Lord can you imagine the hell unleashed if either of them became king. Remove the DCs as they are too young, don’t live here and have never met their cousins.

It's radical, but it's really the only solution. He's been gone 5 years and he's just not coping.

Vespanest · 12/04/2025 07:40

I do feel Harry has crossed a constitutional line, it's one thing to criticise a sausage but quite another to claim that the government and the head of state are plotting against him. He is not criticising Charles as a father but in his role of Head of state and the abuse of his powers. Whether in promoting or denying state funded security Charles would be over stepping the mark. If the mere act of being born a child and in Harry's case was a grandchild of the monarch allows life protection the cost if all entitled decided to live or retire abroad would be huge. But as ever Harry doesn't have a problem with the Hierarchy that place him above others and therefore has more entitlements only with those above him when equality matters. At least he's proved yet again that his family are right to keep him at arms length, he can't be trusted.

MayaKovskaya · 12/04/2025 07:46

Well put, @Vespanest . That's exactly the problem. He is living in the most cavalier and entitled way, and now making the most extraordinary accusations.
He needs to stop.

vera99 · 12/04/2025 07:58

Well how do you intend to stop him. Arrest him when he lands at a UK airport under some arcane law ? Maybe they could use this still extant act from 1351 and have him arrested by Beefeaters and held in the Tower.

adhered to the king's enemies in his realm, giving them aid and comfort in his realm or elsewhere;

violated the king's companion,

or this catch all would probably do the job !

The act originally envisaged that further forms of treason would arise that would not be covered by the act, so it legislated for this possibility. The words from "et pr ceo q plusurs auts cases de semblable treson" onwards have been translated as:

And because that many other like Cases of Treason may happen in Time to come, which a Man cannot think nor declare at this present Time; it is accorded, That if any other Case, supposed Treason, which is not above specified, doth happen before any Justices, the Justices shall tarry without any going to Judgement of the Treason till the Cause be shewed and declared before the King and his Parliament, whether it ought to be judged Treason or other Felony.

MayaKovskaya · 12/04/2025 08:06

I don't know what you are saying, @vera99 . However, like Harry, you seem to misunderstand how things work in the UK.
Parliament is Sovereign. The Monarchy is Constitutional. If you're not from the UK it's possibly confusing, but the gov.uk website explains how it all works.
I've no idea why Harry doesn't understand.

MayaKovskaya · 12/04/2025 08:08

@vera99 - the House of Commons Library is a good source of information on this (and many other things).

King Charles would need to recommend it first to the government for an Act of Parliament to be passed.

If their relationship is bad now, this move by Charles would be the death knell. Harry would go NC.

Probably an action King Charles should consider taking if his cancer progresses to late stages, to close the issue for certain before William ascends to the throne.

IcedPurple · 12/04/2025 08:12

This basically confirms what many of us have been saying for months.

This ridiculous 'case' has no logical basis. He's using the law courts as a venue to indulge his personal grievances against his family. At taxpayer expense. This 'case' really needs to be thrown out and Harry needs to be billed for the hundreds of thousands of pounds he has cost the taxpayer in his extended hissy fit.

KC will always hope that H and W reconcile - no loving father wants his children to be at loggerheads - and that will be his wish on his deathbed. What W does afterwards....well, I think most of us can guess.

MayaKovskaya · 12/04/2025 08:15

Charles is treading a difficult line, and I don't envy him. He cannot intervene in the judicial process, but will get blamed by Harry, whatever the outcome.
I'm not being rude when I say that Harry genuinely needs to get some better help, counselling and advice. This is not a good situation.

MayaKovskaya · 12/04/2025 08:16

@IcedPurple I think you're right, unfortunately.
