The royal family

Harry and RAVEC - claims he was trapped by RF

Okay. So first of all thanks to everyone on the last thread for a really civilised discussion about Harry and his security. The Telegraph has an exclusive article where Harry claims that his security was removed to “trap” him in the RF. I’m really sorry but for some reason I am unable to archive Telegraph articles at the moment. Could anyone help?

He needs help. And not from the sources he currently gets it.

I find it hard to understand how Harry can’t conceive of the difficulties of having the Met protection while he actually lives in another country!

for a start they don’t have police powers out there and wouldn’t be allowed to carry weapons (outside of the rules that apply to the normal public). While he was a member of the RF then the country they’re visiting takes responsibility for security and arranges to have the Met come over but that’s completely different to living there.

plus he expects the Met officers to do what a 6 week tour away from their families? Completely unreasonable and that’s before you consider what the taxpayers might actually think about funding it!

IAmATorturedPoet · 11/04/2025 21:01

Sorry, my earlier post was supposed to include Theredfoxfliesatmidnight quote but it disappeared🙄

Profhilodisaster · 11/04/2025 21:06

Whatever had happened between KC and Harry, I would think that Charles still wanted Harry to be safe , they were obviously just pointing out the risk of leaving the RF , Harry, as ever , has taken that as a threat rather than a concerned family pointing out the pitfalls.
I also think that Charles and possibly HMTLQ didn't want him to leave because they knew he'd make a complete balls up of everything without the men in grey available to clean up after him.

NorthernGnashers · 11/04/2025 21:08

Didn't PH say the other day that he was being subjected to "inferior treatment"?
For those of us born without silver spoons in our mouths, we all have to carry on under "inferior treatment".
All these court cases, one after another.

smilesy · 11/04/2025 21:11

It’s got to be an exhausting way to live. Constantly eaten up by feelings that everyone is out to get you and that the world owes you something. It’s really unfortunate that both Harry and Meghan seem to share this trait and the whole thing is spiralling. It’s almost a Shakespearean tragedy 🤷‍♀️

He really is illogical

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 11/04/2025 21:18

Harry: I will make it my life's mission to fight against the evils of the press.

Also Harry: Hello, is that the editor of The Telegraph? Which just happens to be the paper my friend Bryony writes for. Do you want an exclusive about how hard done by I am?

FFS.

It’s slightly smacks of his security being removed as some sort of retaliation or punishment. I really hope that’s not the case.

He is being treated exactly the same as other non working royals. He chose to be a non working royals. No punishment about it.

PoodlesRUs · 11/04/2025 21:20

I am growing more impressed by the entire teams that must have been involved in protecting his image and hiding the extent of his batshittery and follies all those years he was "in" the RF.

IAmATorturedPoet · 11/04/2025 20:54

Harry was a Captain in the British Army and an apache co-pilot who saw active service with two tours of Afghanistan, to lack the ability to risk assess would be quite shocking.

He's demonstrated he can't risk assessment when he boasted about killing the Taliban members and put a target on his own, his wife and his DC's backs. I don't know how he lives with himself for that.

They earned every penny they made and I sincerely hope that they got a good bonus at Christmas. Lord knows they deserved one.

Profhilodisaster · 11/04/2025 21:25

Harry wants full time security in the UK , even when he's not in the UK, is that correct? (This is doing my head in 🤣) but what he actually gets is bespoke security on a visit by visit basis.
It's like me moaning that I don't get 5 free meals a week in my work canteen when I only work 3 days a week.

Starseeking · 11/04/2025 21:26

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · 11/04/2025 20:53

I am not very clever, so don't fully understand....does Harry think that he should have 24/7 Met office protection, wherever he is in the world, despite leaving the Royal family and spending the last 5 years slagging them off? I must have the wrong end of the stick, surely? I remember news reports of their Met officers in Canada spending their time being sent to get take away coffees and do the shopping. Is this what he actually wants? For this country to spring millions for a nice polite English police officer(away from his/her family for six months at a time) to run errands for him?

I'm really confused. I thought the case was about security when Harry visits the UK on various charity junkets. (I mean, I think we all know it's really about Harry being a delusional paranoic, but I thought it was about security in the UK.)

I think that is exactly what Harry wants.

You may recall in the days before Megxit, a significant security detail is exactly what they did get. When they went on the tours to South Africa and Australia (?), all the security went with them. Bearing in mind they were working royals then.

Even in the early days of Megxit they had a huge security entourage living by them in Canada, I think it was.

I am guessing that Harry had no concept of how much round the clock security actually costs until he had to start paying for it himself (once UK taxpayers and Prince Charles, as was, stopped funding his lifestyle - remember Harry sharing his indignance and horror at being cut off by Papa in his late 30’s, conveniently forgetting he had £30m odd in the bank from inheritances from his mum and The Queen Mother!).

CrazyOldMe · 11/04/2025 21:29

Does he even realize how dangerous it could be security-wise to reveal this level of detail to the public? Baffling given how concerned he is about security.

smilesy · 11/04/2025 21:34

It’s very possible that if he reveals t what was discussed in secret, it will be a damp squib in terms of the details that Harry reveals will be the things that cause him grievance, and not the actual important secret details. He does have a habit of focusing on petty slights

I can’t decide if he is either thick as pig shit, an entitled spoilt brat or is actually seriously mentally unwell, probably a combination of all three, his behaviour is becoming more unhinged by the day.

It wasn't removed by the late Queen or Charles though, it's not their decision.

The sense of entitlement with so much of the aristocracy is unreal

TheNeedyKhakiPanda · 11/04/2025 21:51

The Prince and Princess of Wales are likely taking notes on what not to do with Charlotte and Louis, to make sure they don't turn out like Harry, but, I don't think they will as they seem to be giving them as normal a life as is possible. That note book must be fucking huge by now.

IAmATorturedPoet · 11/04/2025 21:54

*When he believes he has uncovered a wrong, he said, he is unable to let things lie and feels the need to “get under the bonnet and fix it”, adding that he was “driven by exposing the injustice'

Why didn't he apply that 'drive' and 'get under the bonnet and fix it' at African Parks?

Why is it ok for him to 'uncover a wrong' and 'get under the bonnet to fix it' but deny the same to Dr Sophie Chandauka ?

His is only 'driven by exposing injustice' if it personally affects him.

As we've seen before I doubt he'd care how damaging any revelations might be, just so long as he saw a personal advantage in making them - and since the courts won't release such records we'll never even know if he's telling the truth

What does surprise me is that he's not so far invented a serious "security emergency" when in the UK, but I guess there's still time

I suspect he thinks someone in the royal family or one of the senior staff (remember all the private secretaries he named after bugs in Spare) is behind the decision for a personal reason.

He was demanding to know exactly who said what in his security review so I think he believes there’s someone to blame.

Maybe that’s what all that ‘you owe me an apology, you know what you did’ stuff was all about as well.

Mylovelygreendress · 11/04/2025 22:05

Since 2020 I have regarded Harry as a bitter, entitled , not too bright man who is somewhat stuck in victim mode.
Having read his latest ramblings I think he is seriously mentally unwell and wonder where on earth this is going to end up.

She won't, she's got what she wanted.
