Thread after thread of pulling apart Harry and Meghan. 0.1% discussing what Andrew did?

What is going on with MN?

He also strategically positioned those dog bowls.

I have no doubt @BemusedAmerican!!! None at all!

what fans? who are "fans"

Come come you know what I mean

It's got completely out of hand on Mumsnet about H&M. I don't know why mumsnet don't set up a forum purely for knocking the couple and delete all new threads about them. Usually 4 threads with the same old posters bringing up the same old stuff and outdoing each other for new forms of insults and sneers about the couple to make each other laugh. Does anyone remember the cheese threads?
It's like that. An old boys network at the golf club pontificating about how awful the world is (with Meghan in it haha)
(It's not just me that thinks this, so so many posters avoid the RF threads and say so out away from the royal board)

Andrew has done far far more damage to the Monarchy than a couple who have left. So... she wants to be fancy with fruit on a plate and make jam. So what? Is that any reason to criticise every word, every look, every bit of her clothes, her face, her make up, her teeth ... it's bizarre and gone too far.

But on the positive side... the posters who loathe her are keeping her publicity going by spending their lives searching for negativity and contributing to her exposure, so we should be grateful.

Andrew has done awful things for the last three decades, so much, he has taken the public for a ride in the most grotesque way and operates under the protection from Charles, all the wider family and his late mother before this. That is why there isn't so many threads on him, he has protection, bit like the mafia 😂

Edited for grammar

So.....all the anti Andrew threads on here....how did they make it past that, then?

If that is addressed to me (no idea), I am talking about the media and what is kept under wraps. Not a forum where random people can say what they want without fear of being beheaded 🤣

Ok. Fine. I've always been a vocal republican and never had a threat of beheading! I've been very vociferous on the Andrew threads, but there's nothing much to say at the moment. Some of us don't like any royals, and don't fear saying so.

I agree with others that say the RF have played a blinder using H & M to distract from any scrutiny on not only Andrew but on the institution that is the Royal family. This country is about to see some of the worst cuts against our most vulnerable yet we are headed up by a family who are billionaires and still largely funded by the tax payer. I am not saying sell or seize assets, the last thing we need is for more UK assets to go to super rich foreigners but the income could be used to invest in fixing UK infrastructure and/or buying back water utility companies? The Royal Family could literally be our Sovereign fund! Their lives wouldn't change but our lives would certainly be better.

LOL yes, I was convinced at one point that Harry and Meghan were still being paid by the RF as some kind of human shields, because whatever the Royals do always comes back to someone mentioning Meghan and how terrible she is too.

I mean they could just pay corporation tax on the Duchies which apparently are private businesses when it comes to charging market rent to the NHS but not when it comes to paying tax on profits and there would be a fair bit more in the public coffers to 'solve homelessness' or 'provide early years support'.

Very many people outside of the Mumsnet bubble have differing views.

No exactly but you suggested that he was under “protection”. When he does something visible in the public eye then he is slated. To pretend he isn’t is wrong

MrsLeonFarrell · 02/04/2025 15:13

Last time Andrew poked his head out I started a thread on him. I would love to discuss his dealings in the Middle East but I don't know much about them. It's hard to discuss him when he is basically in hiding.

I wish someone would tell us what Harry said about William’s penis. I mean, I’ll never think of Elisabeth Arden the same way again-has William destroyed another famous brand?

I am not talking about him taking his horse out for a ride around his Royal Estate. There will be a lot we don't know about. That, if it were to come out, there would be an outcry. That's all.

He hasn't gone from wheeler dealer, backhanders from oligarchs to squeaky clean. Shame we can't see the records about his trade envoy travels, sealed for 30 years or whatever

No it was Harry with the Elizabeth Arden cream rubbing it on his todger while thinking about his mum!!! ( sadly not joking!)
he told us that William and himself are circumcised.

Why do we not know much about them? Why is there a convention that Parliament cannot discuss the Royal Family, yet the Royal Family can get exemptions from legislation that then cannot be debated in Parliament because of this convention? If this stuff was allowed to be openly debated in Parliament, it would be known and we could have a discussion about it. Why does the press not ask those questions? The reason the press have been able to get away with minimal regulation is because they are meant to hold truth to power, but it seems they go so far, then the Royals throw them a shiny picture of some kids or a puff piece about something or other and they back off.
Harry is an entitled twat because he is a Royal, not despite it. They made him, just as they made Andrew, and Margaret, and Edward Viii and the rest of them. Because we have a system that says that we have a family at the head who are basically surrounded by sycophants who cater to their every whim at all times in return for a few visits to some charities They get overly praised for doing the bare minimum, and have an entire establishment working to protect their reputation. That's why you don't know about Andrews trade dealings in the Middle East. '

But the point is he would be slated if he did anything in public or if it became public. At the moment he does not have a public profile and for all intents and purposes he has been exiled from having a public persona in the RF .

I think the RF are being held to account more and more in recent years and the forelock pulling of yesteryear has gone. Back in the early 90’s there was a huge outcry via the public and the media that the Queen didn’t pay tax. She then started to pay it probably because of the outcry. They certainly aren’t as protected as they once were (and neither should they be).

BigWillyLittleTodger · 02/04/2025 15:49

Samcro · 02/04/2025 14:28

really , please tell me you are joking. I have seen what happens to people who post who are not anti and have tried myself.

Do you regularly get called a racist, a bully, unhinged, deranged and obsessive then?

So it seems this thread wasn’t set up to criticise Andrew but in fact is another thread to absolve h and m of all their behaviour , pin the blame on the royal family and label all posters who criticise h and m as great big meanies who attack others .
excellent! 😀

Plus call posters names as shown on this very thread.

Back in the early 90’s there was a huge outcry via the public and the media that the Queen didn’t pay tax. She then started to pay it probably because of the outcry. They certainly aren’t as protected as they once were (and neither should they be).

Their finances were discussed in Parliament when they were paid through the civil list. The Queen changed that, and now no one knows. The Monarch used to be the only person who could amend legislation but now it seems its the Monarch and the heir. So some of the forelock tugging has gone away, but certainly they know how to work things always to their advantage and when and how to cover things up that they don't want out there. They still have many ways to butter up the press to ensure not too much damage is done to their reputation. That is the fault of the press, and the system that doesn't work for us. More scrutiny and being held to account would in the long term be beneficial to them. It means they know the consequences of their actions, and that they will not just get away with dodgy dealings and poor behaviour in the future. They would have to spend far less time on PR if they just behaved themselves. Funnily enough, I think Harry;s issue with the press is that he doesn't understand that his family are where they are because of their dealings with the press. He wants to go back to the days of complete deference to the Royal Family, where nothing was questioned and they could do what they wanted, but give nothing in return, just because they are Royal. He doesn't understand that the continuation of the Monarchy is paramount, over and above the people in it, because the people in it rely on there being a Monarch. Otherwise they will just be a bunch of out of date Aristo's who will eventually have to sell half their house to pay for the roof to be fixed on their stately home, just like their mates have to.
