Thread after thread of pulling apart Harry and Meghan. 0.1% discussing what Andrew did?

What is going on with MN?

There were lots of threads about PA at the time yhe story broke and he's been forced out of public life and has pretty much disappeared, so there's nothing to talk about.

H&M keep courting publicity, so that's what they get.

I do agree with most of what you have just said apart from the H and M bit. Those two do seem to love a faux royal tour. I wonder if Charles is trying to make the absolute most of his reign whilst he can and his health permits? I think given everything he does seem to be enjoying himself.

Whether they want to do a 'faux royal tour' as you call it... or not, that's up to them. I have watched a fair bit of footage of Harry's Ukraine visit and it was really quite moving, the time he spent with amputees and doctors in the rehabiltation centre, the Invictus heroes, the way he engaged with all those in Lviv, it was great, and to get endless criticism for it.... to me, denigrates those he spent time with over there and who really welcomed him. And that's unfair.
And that does not mean to say I love him. 🤣 I don't, he's an idiot at times, but he should not be criticised for every single thing he does where credit is due.

I don't know on Charles, maybe he just needs to keep going as that's good for his mental health or something.

You obviously haven't read the latest about the Chinese spy and Andrew then... that happened last week. And has been talked about on this thread.

The thing is they both bring the criticism all on themselves. Don’t want to be a serving member of RF but want the faux tours. Complain about security and having to give RAVEC 10’days notice for them to organise said security but then goes to a war zone. And as for the 4 car motorcades I could go on but won’t. They are so predictable it’s so entertaining.

CurlewKate · 14/04/2025 15:45

@MunnygirlLegitimate criticism is not “slagging off”. And saying there is something unacceptable in the Wales’ taking 3 holidays in 4 months is legitimate criticism.

TulipTiptoer · 14/04/2025 15:46

So... you say Harry visiting Ukraine and spending time with Invictus ex forces people and in a Rehabilitation centre, meeting doctors, amputees and children is bringing criticism on himself. 😱😲
We won't agree. So many points in your post I don't agree with so it's pointless!
Glad they provide you with entertainment though....

By using your guidelines then criticism of H and M is also legitimate then given the 4 car motorcades and the usual grizzling about security.

Yes it does when he moans about having to give RAVEC 10 days notice of coming to the UK so they can organise security for him, his continual complaints that the UK is far too dangerous for him (ahem) then flying off to a war zone or Colombia or whichever country invites him to really promote himself. He is not helping these organisations at all because of all the drama he brings with him. It’s not about them it’s all about him.

But I’m glad that your glad that I’m glad that they bring so much entertainment to the masses.

Samcro · 14/04/2025 16:09

Munnygirl · 14/04/2025 15:02

Well sometimes that is how it comes across in your posts. But haven’t you just “slagged off” W &K for being lazy?

so you want me to lie and say they work hard?

Of course it is. It sounds ridiculous. But it’s not paid for by the taxpayer.

It doesn’t matter if it’s paid for by the taxpayer or not and you would have to question who paid for the NYPD car who also accompanied Megan. Its actually the behaviour that you can also legitimately comment on. And Harry’s security whilst in the uk will be paid for by the taxpayer. But let’s be honest here he is angling to have his security reinstated for when he is living in the states.

I've heard all this before endlessly, it is very tedious.

I was being sarcastic about the entertainment actually, sorry if that didn't hit home!

If you have watched any of the footage of Harry in Ukraine, you might not dismiss it as him 'promoting himself'. I find that a very poor comment actually. He was there with Invictus, he was really welcomed, he did a good job. It was really touching.

Let's call a halt now shall we? As your obvious 'dislike' of the couple shines through... (see? two can play at the dislike game haha)

My2cents1975 · 14/04/2025 16:37

W&C are wealthy parents whose holiday plans are in line with their peers, so the fuss seems more envy than anything else. The PPoW are not hourly workers who clock in for a shift and whose productivity has a linear relationship to time, no matter how many times this nonsense narrative is introduced. Their roles are more akin to ambassadors of the UK projecting the best of the UK into the world.

Unlike politicians who insult key allies or parties that involve themselves in foreign elections (2024 Labor debacle with Democratic Party), W&C have conducted themselves diplomatically on the global stage, hosting the Obamas and the Trumps with the same grace and warmth as was required of W&C irrespective of their personal feelings.

As a result of their calm, no-drama, wholesome family image approach, W&C are the most popular royals in the UK. In addition, W&C outpoll most European politicians in their own countries, and comprehensively beat Trump and Carney in North America, as well as Albanese in Australia.

Samcro · 14/04/2025 17:07

So yet again polls are mentioned to shut down people who don’t think the wales who are supposed to be working royals always get it right.
they are not the same as other wealthy families.

I saw it and it’s all about him. Can you actually name anyone who took part in the IG or who won what or what disciplines they took part in without actually looking on the internet . It doesn’t bother me you find my comment poor not does your your sarcasm as some people get terribly defensive over these two which I find a bit bizarre.

Someone mentioning things whether a poll or not is not a way of shutting down someone. What a bizarre idea. It's their post. It's their comment .

As you say As a result of their calm, no-drama, wholesome family image approach

Don't you think thats fake to project a certain image they want the world to see 🤔 or you could say putting on a show, the image they show us isn't reality then. They might not be drama free or calm behind the image 💁‍♀️

Polls, by their nature are dynamic and are an indicator of national sentiment. Polling is not perfect as we have seen election surprises in various countries.

I am not sure how pointing out that W&C poll very well in various countries around the world is anything other than contributing information to add to the discussion.

I would think anyone from the UK, be they royalist or republican, would be delighted that foreigners perceive the UK's Head of State's family positively as this translated into soft power for the UK to deploy to extract favorable terms at the negotiation table.

The 10% UK tariff versus 20% EU tariff was not due to PM Starmer, Foreign Secretary Lammy or UK Ambassador to the US Lord Mandelson, all of whom tweeted very short-sighted insults about President Trump, and all of whom failed to observe international diplomacy 101...don't get involved in your strongest ally's domestic affairs.

I don't feel the need to justify my views to you! I really don't have to talk about medal tables for Invictus competitors.
I find your views bizarre so touché !

As I have said a few times, I found the visit to Ukraine with Invictus quite moving and I think Harry did well there.

I don' t "adore" H&M. is that the best you have? I also don't hate &W&K. yes I think they are lazy, but I don't hate or dislike them, why would I, they are perfectly nice people. but I do question why they do so little.

this topic is called the Royal family, yet its just full of threads slagging off H&M.

It's very obvious that we discuss whoever is in the news currently!

And guess who is out there putting it about all over the place??? Why wouldn't we discuss it! If they stop publicising themselves there'd be nothing to discuss. It's very simple!!

It's rich to criticise K&W for taking holidays. At least they stay and do some duties unlike the other pair who couldn't hack it.

They can have as many holidays as they want if it benefits their health and wellbeing because they have a long path ahead of them! Begrudging is not a good look.
