Thread after thread of pulling apart Harry and Meghan. 0.1% discussing what Andrew did?

What is going on with MN?

Don't forget the huuuuge bows on the shoulders! He looked like a complete tit

I quite liked Captain Tequila and Ed The Builder sporting their made up gongs ever so, ever so seriously...

BasiliskStare · 05/04/2025 21:18

I'm definitely up for the Lownie book. I do think letting Andrew wear his robes for the Coronation was a mistake. It didn't stop him getting booed on his journey to the Abbey though.

So am I, TheAutumnCrow, but I very much doubt what he wants will happen

Not when there are so many favours to be traded ...

It still rankles that PA got to dress up at the coronation and Harry who is no where as bad was treated so poorly.

I have to disagree there about Harry. I think he has behaved atrociously. What will be interesting is in light of the Virginia Giuffre “bus crash 4 days to live” headline which seems to have been proven as a lie will pave the way for an attempt by Andrew to re enter public life? Personally I think public life can well do without Andrew and I think it’s far too late in the day to rejoin the RF given his terrible behaviour .

And Andrew hasn't over decades?.

The valet helping Harry with his robes of state would have noticed the Netfix wires.

Oh Andrew most certainly has behaved atrociously over the years

Agreed

sounds like you're a republican to me!

Well maybe, but It wouldnt bother me if they were more Scandi Royal in nature- eg smaller and more accountable. Frankly even if they just weren't allowed to exempt themselves from laws, paid corporation tax on their private assets and were allowed to be discussed in Parliament, I probably wouldn't care less about how many puff pieces they put out in the press about their 4 bedroom cottages and school runs or how little charity work they did. But the fact that they do, plus the getting involved with so many dodgy, corrupt people including an inordinate number of people found guilty or suspected of sexual exploitation of children is what I find unpalatable.

mainecooncatonahottinroof · 05/04/2025 23:39

I've avoided this thread for a few days because I knew how it would go, and it sure hasn't disappointed. A lot of the regular RF posters here seem to be absent from the Sentebale threads and I wonder why that is?

Andrew is universally abhorred, so nothing to see here - and it's sad when you look back at his 'hero of the Falklands days' but it's nothing he hasn't done to himself. Same with Harry.

I don't think there's any way back for Andrew notwithstanding the recent Guiffre fiasco, and nor should there be. For me, whether or not he slept with Virginia isn't the main issue, it's his continued association with Epstein after his conviction that is so out of order that there's no way of expressing it!!! There should be no way back for Harry either. Andrew has been an arrogant dick and has often behaved in a reprehensible way but he has never trashed his family the way Harry has.

They are both bad news.

💯 agree

TulipTiptoer · 06/04/2025 08:16

Andrew is universally abhorred, so nothing to see here

Well, there is obviously a lot to see here, given that the King has been drawn into a spy scandal after new details emerged at a tribunal on Friday regarding Andrew's relationship with the spy and the media have written about it.

And peculiarly the Palace has put out a statement denying knowing of the existence of Yang, yet Charles had two meetings discussing Andrew's initiative which heavily involved the spy

Samcro · 06/04/2025 08:19

@mainecooncatonahottinroof I can only speak for myself. but I think the reason that anyone that is not anti/a hater is not on that thread, is because of the way anyone who tried to post a more measured view are treated.

CurlewKate · 06/04/2025 08:24

@Tomatotateri absolutely agree but I am a Republican for the same reasons-but I go one step further. I would be happy to see the head of state role replaced by an elected person.

CurlewKate · 06/04/2025 09:17

Why would anyone want to post on the Sentebale threads before the Charity Commission (or equivalent) has reported?

Samcro · 05/04/2025 20:43

I agree with this and I think it was a big mistake to let Andrew wear his Garter robes , especially as HLMTQ had stopped him doing so at her last Garter day. Harry was technically entitled to wear his KCVO robe but was asked not to , which he did, he just wore the medal. In this I have sympathy for Harry as if I were he I would have thought WTAF seeing Andrew . I think neither of them should have been allowed to wear robes & I wonder if KC , given the negative reaction and controversy around letting Andrew wear his, in hindsight thinks it was a mistake.

Edit to add - I think btw KC might ( ie should ) have anticipated the discrepancy beforehand and asked PA to wear a morning suit.

TulipTiptoer · 06/04/2025 09:34

I agree Basilisk. It looked incredibly petty. Like they were trying to punish Harry, but not Andrew. Not a good look.

NewAgeNewMe · 06/04/2025 09:41

So agree Basilisk & Tulip. Was definitely a wrong move.

Guitaryo · 06/04/2025 09:44

I agree it was wrong for Andrew to be allowed to wear his, but it was right for Harry not to. As he was no longer a serving royal, someone leaving at his rank wouldn't have been permitted to wear their dress upon leaving so it's fair he has the same military rules applied.

I suppose there is no current outrage because he's not in our faces flogging jam.

Samcro · 06/04/2025 09:54

oh yes because no one else in the RF flogs jam lol

TroysMammy · 06/04/2025 09:47

I suppose there is no current outrage because he's not in our faces flogging jam.

No he's doing far worse like fraternising with a Chinese Spy and the King having been dragged into it, as per official documents.

As much as some people (not you necessarily!) try to dismiss Andrew as 'oh well, no one likes him anyway', he does continue to embarrass the Monarchy

Puzzledandpissedoff · 06/04/2025 10:13

... peculiarly the Palace has put out a statement denying knowing of the existence of Yang, yet Charles had two meetings discussing Andrew's initiative which heavily involved the spy

As we've seen on too many occasions, expecting and sort of good judgement from Charles is a hopeless quest, @TulipTiptoer, so all that's really left is to dissemble, cover up and, if all else fails, seal the records

The first two are already happening and the third will probably be along soon ...

what I don't understand is why they aren't held to account financially.
I see them basically as ambassadors so why wouldn't they have to account for where the money is going?
If all is above board and legal then just be open and transparent

Guess it's the " if everything is above board and legal" bit that's the sticking pount there!
