I don’t think so.

Why not?

Conundrumseverywhere · 03/04/2025 21:10

MagdaLenor · 03/04/2025 21:03

Why not?

I just think she’s ashamed of him and doesn’t want any mention of him ‘tarnishing’ her.

I just thought she might write about him and his failings to make money.

And Wallis knew how to dress.

And use an iron. (Or how to direct someone else to use one.)

The description of Sentebale board meetings where topics that might make Harry uncomfortable (the inappropriacy of polo) could not be raised , suggests that this is also how Invictus operates. So all the Board members know that Meghan turning it into a fashion parade is ghastly but no-one can bring themselves to say it.
The opposite of what you would expect from a decent Board.

And we spent an entirely unaccounted for £26m to bring what appears to be a largely empty Invictus circus here 😡

BigWillyLittleTodger · 03/04/2025 19:16

It’s not so much the SS though how they operate is horrendous but how SC has been treated in the main stream media that could really put people off raising their heads above the parapet. Hands up 🙌 I’m impatient and want a bit of instant gratification 😂

I absolutely agree. The headlines (and a lot of the reporting, too) are from H's perspective -" H is glad/welcomes" etc and don't reflect AT ALL the reality that SC reported the H-crony board to the Charity Commission.

It is being spun as corrupt African woman stealing H's project.

Read The Times reporting, and the prevaiing opinion BTL "she sounds like a horrible woman". 😵‍💫

Still got the out of date kitchen of the previous owners as pointed out in that NY Times article, I would have though Meghan would have been itching to put her mark on the place.

Skinflint Harry.
I wonder if he's fixed the plumbing yet

.

Onlyonekenobe · 03/04/2025 21:57

“Never stood a chance” is exactly the sort of joint victimhood these two would bask in, should the marriage ever end (and I hope it doesn’t, I genuinely hope they have a close relationship of mutual respect and love). It’ll be all about relentless bullying and intrusion by the press, all cards stacked against them, in the face of adversity never before seen, unique situation, ultimately we’re putting our children and our philanthropic work first blah blah.

I get the impression that they bought a house at the extreme upper limit of what they could afford, and they can barely cover the mortgage and huge running costs let alone expensive renovations. This is why they are constantly grifting and hustling for money. I'm sure they could have gone for something a bit more modest (but still a huge mansion by the rest of our standards), but they felt entitled to a huge estate due to being oh so important members of royalty. They couldn't have William and Catherine having access to such properties and not them. It was two fingers to the RF who had them slumming it (in Meghan's eyes) in Nottingham cottage

Conundrumseverywhere · 03/04/2025 22:18

The irony is W and C live relatively modestly without live in staff in Adelaide Cottage.

MagdaLenor · 03/04/2025 22:20

They were offered - and turned down - a large apartment in Kensington Palace. It was going to be vacated by the Gloucesters, and upgraded for H&M.

Exactly! Makes me laugh how the fans of H&M claim the royal family control the press, the only one I see actually doing that is Harry, and very successfully so far.

The evil Murdoch press, no less. Whom the Sussex supporters can never accept has been pro Sussex for quite some time, as this supports Rupert Murdoch's republican agenda.

The photo of Alex Rayner doesn't help - very pale, a bit chubby. You can hear him braying as you read the article

He very much looked like and came across as a younger version of the sleazy Nicholas Soames who’d do hatchet jobs on Diana.

I missed the post you’ve quoted but I’m not impressed that it’s apparently not ok to be very pale and a bit chubby. I’ve had a lifetime of being openly mocked for my ghostly complexion and in my youth for my skinniness. Medication has now left me a bit chubby… that ironically seems to have reduced the mockery.

I'm not sure that Harry ever understood that having a $100 million Netflix contract didn't mean that he gets $100 million for himself

Firstly you have to produce x number of shows and content that NF wants to pay (and some of their ideas were turkeys - Harry interviewing Putin as a psychopath/Miss Havisham as a icon of feminism for example). Secondly as producers they must pay the production costs.

I think Harry thought they were paying this money for the kudos of having a Prince and Meghan. They moved directly into a billionaire lifestyle they could not afford and their track record is poor.

That wasn't good enough for them either(rumours are because it wasn't comparable to the apt that William and Catherine had there, which was really a whole wing of the building) so harry requested an apartment at Windsor Castle instead, which the queen rejected.

And they lived quite happily in Nottingham Cottage - including when Prince George was a baby.

Most people would kill to live in a Christopher Wren cottage but Meghan couldn't see past LA optics - she wanted a McMansion and derided Notts cottage as a "frat house" - it could have been lovely if either had put their hands in their pocket and replaced the IKEA sale furniture

When they were offered Frogmore - I am convinced they thought they were getting Frogmore House and not Frogmore Cottage.😂

I also read they turned down a DoC country estate,

I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't another book, whether from Harry or from Meghan or as a joint endeavour. It would be all about how nobly they've striven for independence and been frozen out by the RF. If they do separate, Megan's will be no holds barred bitchfest positioning herself as the complete victim of a jealous and racist family who did nothing to help her and hung them both out to dry so the marriage stood no chance.

In The Cut interview, Meghan referred ominously to diaries she had found at Frogmore Cottage. I reckon she has photographs, footage, voice notes and diaries of every detail of her life with Harry - every joint smoked, every cross word, every act of disobedience, sitting waiting just in case she needs to write a book about her abusive marriage, and the same covering her time in the Royal family. Lady C (a dubious source, I know) said a while ago that when Meghan's father dies, she's going to say he sexually abused her. (This is so shocking I really hope it isn't true.) Plan B and C if As Ever isn't for ever? If Meghan were to write a book about her marriage, no man would ever look at her again.

What you said @FelineWhiskers being openly mocked. It sounds terrible.
