Papa's camera pans to Archie and Lily, a precious, precocious prince and princess frolicking a-like to Spring lambs on a rainbow fruit platter and elevating, poltergeistly, to the Cali clouds above.

But only showing the backs of their heads! No view of the 'blue, blue eyes' allowed.

potsandmud · 01/04/2025 16:28

Why have you asked for it to be taken down @IdaGlossop??

Because there is already this thread. I set up a new one (number 4) without realising @glitterturd had already set this one up.

At the end of the previous thread, someone mentioned the celeb gossip sites. Some of them have undergone quite an interesting volte face in recent years - Lainey Gossip being a good example.

I don't know if it's still there but at one point there was a fairly lengthy mea culpa about the site's former descriptions of celebrities (nicknaming Jessica Simpson as 'Porny', was one memorable descriptor) and how this no longer aligned with societal expectations on 'be kind' and so on. The problem being that the judgement is still there but instead of being overt, it's now masked behind a purity spiral where people are judged against their perceived social justice shortfalls.

Having signed on as a Sussex supporter, LG will invariably find reasons no matter how tenuous, to judge them as right and hard done by, and everyone else as wrong.

I think some of them backed off after Meghan publicly cut ties with Jessica Mulroney after her own racism scandal.

Quite. I've seen the Guardian tie itself in knots frequently over the years, and it can be amusing to observe. They (like all papers) have a definite agenda and it most certainly does get in the way of the unbiased journalism they claim so pompously.

I think this incident will be awkward for many who like to see things in black and white (no pun intended). Anyone who really believes that M and H are champions of anti-racism will be scratching their heads as to what stance to take.

Those of us who see through the hypocritical and self-serving duo will be less surprised!

The Guardian is the epitome of left wing condescension, arrogance and bile. I am extremely left wing politically (and a constitutional monarchist, go figure) but I despair of the attitudes the left project at those they disagree with and feel superior to. I think Marina's article wasn't perfect but i feel she made some good points within the parameters she is working with there.

MrsLeonFarrell · 01/04/2025 16:34

At the point the charity commission releases a report this will all be old news. I expect there to be fault on many sides.

But Harry's reaction is ensuring that he personally will find this really really hard to come back from.

potsandmud · 01/04/2025 16:35

Oh I see!!!!!! Sorry!

Bang on. It’s so transparent. It’s tough being a woke professional!

I mean Travalyst is a useful platform for peeps that like flying private eh and lost their last cash point…

But you can see their 'red, red hair'. Very handy for her as they are visibly H's children. (All this nonsense about borrowed children is just that - nonsense.)

It’s almost impossible to believe that the day after we hear how Harry tried to strong arm someone into publicly speaking up in defense of Meghan during a media storm that they didn’t see how bad it would look to have someone defend Harry using clearly scripted and fed language the next day.

It’s a masterclass in how not to run public relations during a crisis.

They didn’t have even make sure he put it into his own language so that the ‘H’ mistake wouldn’t have been there.

I admit I’m gripped like the best car crash soap opera by these two. I can’t think of a similar example of someone in the public eye making the same mistakes over and over again.

I have started to feel a little sorry for them. I mean they are their own worst enemy but it must be tough.

It is a soap opera isn't it. Just feel sorry for the real victims of the Sussexes. They are destroying lives.

I have no idea what Catherine is like as a person. She comes over very well, but of course, that's a carefully curated public persona.

But whatever she is like in private she's won my sympathy and admiration over the past few years by her dignified and restrained behaviour in the eye of the storm created by H & M. The horrible personal attacks and slurs (I'd never forgive anyone who slandered me as a racist on a world stage) and, frankly, character assassination as well as the vile SM campaign waged against her even in the light of her illness by their supporters (with no word from H & M to call them off the attack) would have broken many people. She really has exemplifed Michelle Obama's wise counsel that 'when they go low, we go high'.

The walkabout after the Queen's death must have been hell for Catherine (and M too, but I don't feel sorry for her), but she kept it together. I don't know if I could have done that!

I agree that C comes over very well indeed as evidenced by her phenomenal polling...where she is more popular than Albanese in Australia, Trump in America and Macron in France!

Drama sells, and the press wanted "Diana 2.0...The Modern Mess Continues!" but what they got was a "level-headed girl." C has been very smart to maintain her professional public persona of "steady as she goes" and keep her private life very private.

Steady, boring and reliable is exactly what is needed for longevity in public life. And in this world of change and chaos, stability is all the more valued.

jeffgoldblum · 01/04/2025 16:44

Personally ( and this is obviously my own opinion!) the days of high brow and low brow publications is now over , I find very little to distinguish between them these days,
because I get my news through the Apple News feed it gives me articles and news from almost all of them !
the guardian and times are not above filching articles from the daily mail ! 🤷‍♀️

Same here , was sitting waiting like a lemon for the next post.

Lainey Gossip doesn't seem to be touching this racist bullying episode, normally she would be all over it, she was when it came to Chrissy Teigan.

She is forever writing about white privilege.

Harry is the poster star for racist white privilege.

Same here @jeffgoldblumapple news is good! Worked out how much I was spending on various subs for all the papers… obscene amounts. It’s not as quick to serve the headlines but it’s ok. I wish the other papers would sign up.

I’m going to go there & be the one to comment on appearance, looks & what they were wearing (unless others have already). Bcos I think it’s also relevant here. On top of everything else re Meghan wanting to hog the limelight etc I do think she was threatened by Sophie’s appearance, proximity to her husband & that she looked better in her strikingly similar outfit to her. Territorial, rude & self obsessed. And agree with the commentary that Harry is her willing flying monkey who seems unable to understand that not everyone holds her in the same deluded regard that he does.

It did actually notice at the time that they were wearing very similar outfits but Sophie looked elegant but M just couldn’t pull it off. I didn’t of course know at that point what a high achiever she was. It makes total sense to me that M, ever the feminist, was jealous of her.

She'd definitely know all about it as Chalker was in parliament from 1974 onwards and was a junior minister in the Thatcher government at the time the Lancaster House agreement was signed in 1979.

Yes, my money is on her for the Ian Smith comparison.

MM can’t do steady and boring and in the background… it’s physically impossible for her.

Place marking. I cannot believe how wild this is all turning, only Harry & Meghan could cause a ruckus like this 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

So obviously we don’t know who said the Rhodesia slur.

However……

  • Dr Sophie contacted at Trustee in Nov regarding this issue.
  • Baroness Chaulker resigned Nov 2024
  • Baroness Chaulker in a Times article described Dr Sophie's leadership as dictatorial.
  • The slur likened Dr Sophie’s leadership to white rule in Rhodesia.

Just sayin’

Edited

Also, you'd have to be above a certain age to even know enough to make that comparison, no?

Yes, she’s in her 80s and she was with The FO with an African portfolio in the 80s …..it does point in that direction.
