Imagine if she does an interview! Wow!

I hope she isn't silenced.

Vespanest · 26/03/2025 07:42

Not sure why anyone could not believe that Harry may have been racist or misogynistic, not like he hasn't got form. It's interesting that they have resigned after the complaints and legal action have begun.

Middleagedstriker · 26/03/2025 07:45

CrocsNotDocs · 26/03/2025 02:34

Maybe when Prince William said “we are very much not a racist family” he meant to precede it with “now that Harry has left us, ….”

Or his grandfather died or his uncle shuts up.

myrtleWilson · 26/03/2025 07:46

I still don’t understand your position @HelenWheels she is chair, what point are you trying to make?

MayaKovskaya · 26/03/2025 07:46

Which uncle won't shut up and stop being racist?
Confused!

AtIusvue · 26/03/2025 07:47

Passing off his resignation as being in solidarity with trustees too and claiming that there isn’t the finances to fund the court case.

Why is he, a multi millionaire, who set up the charity, not fighting the case?

Says it all, that he’s resigned.

Vespanest · 26/03/2025 07:48

As a disclaimer this is Prince Harry that is being discussed so the word racist needs to be replaced with unconscious bias, due to him being the oracle of racism

Wobblemonster · 26/03/2025 07:50

That statement is incredible. What a woman. I hope my daughter’s, when they grow up, have her integrity, confidence and eloquence.

MrsLeonFarrell · 26/03/2025 07:50

That's a pretty devastating set of accusations from the Chair. Time will tell whether it is accurate or not.

Charities do go through difficult times when they have to change focus as Sentebele has been doing. It may be that process or it may be more. It must be hard to manage a charity when people who live so far apart are involved. Plus of course any problems are going to be harder to handle with the high profile that Harry has.

I don't think any of us are in a position to know exactly what is going on but something has obviously happened to cause relationships to break down so badly. The Charity Commission report will be interesting.

Regardless of what the results are though it is sad when people in need are let down so I hope they find a way to move forward.

Thedom · 26/03/2025 07:51

I am sure Prince Seesio is not short of a bob or two either.

it is all very strange, it appears the statement from Prince Harry and Prince Seesio was 'leaked' rather than issued to the media via normal channels.

She is the woman who was shoved aside when Harry, Meghan, and Nacho posed with the trophy at the polo match.

She has guts and a sense of honor. Good for her!

Edited for typos.

Edited

is she?
I rmember the woman looked so cheesed off at the time. Good on her

Xenia · 26/03/2025 08:01

I have been trying to work out if it has a board of directors and the trustees are separate as usually in a normal company if the chair loses the support of the rest of the board the chair goes not the whole board. I can see it has trustees as know
https://register-of-charities.charitycommission.gov.uk/en/charity-search/-/charity-details/4022923/trustees
and companies house shows 4 current directors
see https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/05747857

It is 4 new trustees appointed yesterday as reported. So it sounds like it is as I guessed - board of directors and separately the trustees.

Wow.
WHAT a statement 👏

I wonder if the decision to resign is linked at all to mess him and Meghan are dealing with surrounding the archewell foundation

Because while one is bad luck two looks like a pattern

what's going on with Archewell?

Perhaps the charity is choosing it's leadership organically over the years, and maybe Harry is happy for that transformation to take it's natural course.

Well done for Harry to help start the charity. I hope it continues to help.

Are you being sarky?
I genuinely can't tell.
If not then it's lovely to see someone with such an optimistic view of things 😁

It's a shame because it gave him something positive to do.

He could do good, they both could, But he is damaged and not that bright.

oh my,
" a country no one has ever heard of"

That's really not a good thing to have said

A few random comments:

Some of the resigning trustees are black, and one of the new ones is white, so not wholly about race.

The fact that the High Court is hearing the case is not a predictor of which way it will go. We'll have to see. Although if the trustees have all resigned maybe Dr Chandauka has won by default and the case will be dropped?

The charity made a loss in its last posted accounts (2022/3); income fell, with donations making a particularly steep fall, and spending rose: SENTEBALE - 1113544

If Harry and friends are out for good, I guess they can say goodbye to the polo income too. But it seems to amount to only 11 million over the course of the charity's existence so maybe it can survive that with other streams of income, and he and Prince Seeiso are still featured quite prominently on the Sentebale website so maybe they will be back.

Seemingly the charity commission is involved with looking at governance. So I’m guessing that’s why he’s quit?

Seems so odd to walk away from your own charity because of one person. There’s more to it clearly

It wasn’t just him who walked away.

You have to look further back for the resignations. This has happened over two years. All Harry’s posh friends are long gone.

No, but it’s the charity he founded.

The trustees are being taken to court by the chair. So they have stepped down.

Are you always quite so racist?

Vespanest · 26/03/2025 08:25

She has also claimed Misogynoir, this is not white specific racism or to be directed at one individual. Whilst she has clearly taken some aim at Harry she has included more general treatment.

Viviennemary · 26/03/2025 08:25

It made a loss. How?

It’s always surprising when people think the fact that they haven’t heard of something is evidence that it’s irrelevant, rather than being evidence of their own ignorance.

glitterturd · 26/03/2025 08:31

I'm sure this is a bitter blow to Harry after all these years. It's losing another tie to the past and another of his interests.
