A genuinely nice and friendly thread about Meghan

Hi everyone! As suggested on another thread, I’m starting this to provide some balance to the MM / MS threads which have been perceived as bullying and not joyful.

So please feel free to join in and share something pleasant and joyful about your day or any comments about MM / MS as an antidote if the other threads have caused you upset. Please be nice!

I’ll begin by saying that writing notes by hand is a lovely thing to do, and conveys sincerity beyond any effusive email or text message. And nice handwriting is a bonus! Hand cramp is a problem of the digital age.

Also, I’ve watched two episodes of the series now, and I love the garden plants in California. Waiting for the spring to bloom here!

How do so many people get so excited (both for and against) about someone so bland?

I find little to either like or dislike about her, certainly nothing to either love or hate about her.

She hasn't always been a bland trad wife though. She has been something of a controversial figure. This is a nice thread, so perhaps just look up her various tv and magazine interviews.

IdaGlossop · 22/03/2025 13:51

I watched 'With love, Meghan' pretending I knew nothing about her. As a feel-good show, it has merit. The way it has been pulled apart by reviewers makes good copy but also shows how unbalanced many people are about her. As I haven't met her, I neither like nor dislike her. However, she and Harry between them have done a lot of damage to themselves and others.

WorriedMutha · 22/03/2025 14:28

It isn't that I expect a thread that is fawning all over Meghan and all criticism is sacrilege. It's just that most threads are so unbalanced and vitriolic. Princess Margaret was noted for high handedness with staff. The King is said to have a short temper. Other celebs like Naomi Campbell and Mariah Carey said to have diva streaks. Nobody cares but Meghan, whoa.
Someone keeps saying that we are ignoring bullying allegations but I'm sceptical about the timing and motivation for those. The palace conducted an investigation by independent lawyers they said would be published. But voila then they couldn't because of confidentiality of witnesses. Did they not think of that at the outset? The recent interview with the former aide must have been sanctioned by the RF and timed perfectly for Meghan's new venture.
I'm just trying to exercise a bit of judgement and won't necessarily swallow the line being peddled to me by her detractors in the media and their cheerleaders on MN.

I don’t think this is the thread to discuss this on but still…
all of your thoughts would be fine if it wasn’t for one teeny tiny issue, yes all the bully allegations in the U.K. could be retaliation, yes the timing could be convenient.
but now we have American staff , American media publishing their own findings that are not related to the U.K. staff and reports.
the U.K. reports can be brushed aside by those who believe h and m and their narrative but how can you brush aside the reports and American staff?

But you'll carry on regardless!

Anyway... back on the subject...

There are some interesting threads on Reddit about her series. Not all complimentary of course, but quite a few sticking up for her, and calling the series 'soothing'. That's how I'd describe it too. One person who films professionally talked of how good the angles/colours, sound design, motion graphics were and particularly liked the behind the scenes shots that showed the camera crew. I liked that bit too, I can't remember what episodes the crew were in.

The op said this was not set up to be a fawning thread!
but that posters would discuss things in a civil manner, I was answering that particular poster about things in her post .
i did it in a civil way.
your comment however is sneery and passive aggressive!

I don’t think they ever said it would be published ?
But you can bet your bottom dollar that had Meghan been completely exonerated, she and H would have issued a statement .

Hardly! I only said you'll carry on regardless after you saying this isn't the right thread for what you are going to post

I am trying to keep the thread relevant to the thread title but it's hopeless

I'll come back when the thread is back on track

Samcro · 22/03/2025 15:25

I have been out and am not at all surprised to see that this thread was never set up to be positive about Meghan, the ops name was a giveaway really.
so now we have just another Meghan bashing thread
👏👏👏👏

WatchedEverything · 22/03/2025 15:59

I have just watched her series and really enjoyed it. It’s not something I’d normally watch but there was so much talk about it that I thought I’d try it. Suits is one of those programmes that I could watch over and over and she was really good in that.

Someone I know knew her years ago through work and said she was always very friendly and well liked by everyone. She finds it hard to believe all the bullying stuff about her as she was the total opposite.

MonteShitshow · 22/03/2025 16:44

Ah @Samcro, I’m sorry to have offended you with my username! I chose it to use on the As Ever threads as it looked to me like the series would lead to a response amounting to a shitshow. I’m not a fan, but not a hater either. I’m not going to fawn over her and I don’t know enough to discuss the bullying accusations.

Having only watched two episodes I probably don’t know enough about the series to lead a full-on analysis of it either! But I did find some nice bits in them, maybe you could consider watching too and join in the discussion?

I think there’s less bashing on here, and some very friendly posts!

@Extiainoiapeial the second episode has the crew in there, trying some blackberries then having a cup of coffee :)

No thanks, as I have posted before, it’s not my thing.
I don’t watch things just so I can slag someone off.

I agree with this.

If the investigation into the bullying claims had been released, and if it was shown that Meghan had bullied some of the Kensington Palace office staff then I’d likely readjust my opinion about Meghan. But at this point the bullying claims seem like a smear campaign.

A bit like how they both accused the RF of racism
without any proof

This is an interesting article with details of the sweaters and T's that she wore in the series

I don’t find it difficult to believe that there was concern over Meghan and Harry’s children’s skin colour, which I think is how Meghan worded it.

We do know that Philip had made racist comments publicly, which other members of the family didn’t speak out over in the past, and that another person in the family wore a questionable brooch, so there is racist attitudes in the family. Yes, Harry made racist remarks which he should have addressed and apologised for and didn’t, which is completely wrong, but again, shows that racism is something in their family. Without recording conversations, it’s hard to get proof of some things, so it’s just down to what you think is likely really and as I said, I don’t find it hard to believe that there were concerns about skin colour. If it’s true, I think it’s unforgivable.

There is no denying that she’s very beautiful. She still is now, but I remember first seeing her in Suits and thinking she’s stunning. I’m sure she’s the reason that my partner will still watch Suits with me now. 😂

100% this! Members of the Royal family are racist, those examples you provided are proof of that so to say they aren't...that's a lie. These are the ones we just know about.
