As ever season two: fluffy eggs (with sparkling water) on faces!

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!

Despite the ‘almighty’ British media, the rightwing US media and the internet brigade attempting to outdo each other with their crushing, supposedly annihilating reviews of Meghan’s As ever show, not only has it spent the past days in Netflix’s top 10 in more than 40 countries (including being Nr 5 in the Meg-lovin’ UK), Netflix have renewed the show for a 2nd season!

And of course, Netflix are also actively supporting the launch and commercialisation of Meghan’s As ever product range.

So, some folks have plenty of (hopefully fluffy - add sparkling water!) egg on their faces right now, and none of them are Meghan. She’s delivered the perfect put-down to her detractors with her “Lettuce romaine calm” pun, playfully announcing her Season 2 on her Instagram…. and adding a bum wiggle which to me said “we’ve obviously known for months that there’ll be a season 2, but y’all didn’t, so we’ve let you play with your silly headlines and review-bombing about this being ‘the end of the road’ and we ‘should kiss goodbye to Netflix’ BS, before making you all look like the obsessive fools you are by announcing season 2. Back-off and just chill, folks!”

Too funny! So far in this little PR war, it’s Meghan 2, detractors 0. Basically, the general public don’t GAF about the screeching online: if the show’s a good watch they’ll watch it, and they evidently are… kinda like… a certain biography, that other Sussex review-bombed ‘abject failure’ that still went on to become a Nr1 bestseller in the UK and US…

So, where did the gormless twopenny British journalists and their equally misguided US counterparts go wrong (again)? They were so eager to wield the knife into Meghan (a soooo much easier and risk-free target than Elon Musk, Donald Trump or even Andrew Tate, whom they’re evidently too chicken sh*t to go after with a tenth of the vitriol they enjoy hurling at Meghan), that they forgot to read the not so small print.

That small print includes the words “Netflix” and “Sony Pictures Television”, producers of As ever.

Now, who wields more power and influence over US viewers and consumers, Marina Hyde and her fellow sour-grapes, or Netflix and Sony Pictures combined (not to mention People magazine, Drew Barrymore, etc)?

Hmm… tough one.

So next time spineless journos want to pile-in on a mixed heritage woman for the heinous crime of launching a feel-good lifestyle business, maybe they could read the small print about who’s backing her and turn their Trump and Musk a*s-licking tongues in their mouths a few times before spouting off, lest they end up being the ones looking utterly ridiculous?

If you feel the British and right wing media have been spineless in their continued attacks on Meghan Sussex, discuss!

Meanwhile I need to find me one of ‘em ‘Lettuce romaine calm” baseball caps. Etsy sellers, get to work!

Interesting reading the OP's post in the light of the facts!

Wow that is absolutely dismal when you think that nearly 2 billion people watched her wedding. I know not everyone has access to NF but they do have hundreds of millions of subscribers. Even the Beckham doc got more than that.

I've found the public's positive reviews for With Love, Meghan a tad unhinged. It's all 'Meghan is the most incredible host. She is bringing light and joy to the world. I've already made her delicious honey cake five times and at the weekend I held a beeswax candle-making sleepover. The best night of my life!' They actually write things like that. It's like this weird mixture of bots, cultish fandom and teenage obsessives.

Whilst these same people, SS, spend the rest of their days in their other MO targetting, bullying, harassing individuals online. Extreme delusional two faced kiss-up and kick-down behaviours. Sounds familiar.

Weepixie · 13/03/2025 07:41

Ref the viewing figures. According to Google there are approx 80 million subscription holders in the USA and 300 million worldwide.

ThePoshUns · 13/03/2025 07:46

That’s pretty poor. I must admit I would probably have hate watched it but 10 minutes of simpering was enough.
if the viewing figures were going to equate to product purchases, it isn’t going to be enough to keep Meghan in the lifestyle to which she is accustomed.

FarmerDramaLlama · 13/03/2025 08:15

I wish you could know the views of individual episodes as I’m sure after the first one it takes a nosedive.
Most people have adverts on Netflix so they want that revenue stream too, if people don’t watch they aren’t recouping their money.

My God - it IS a cult! The word 'unhinged' is a bit overused these days, but it's spot on for that kind of blind, uncritical worship.

I don't mean to rub it in but...where's OP? Anyone seen her recently?

DorisDayz · 13/03/2025 08:51

Last seen on Drew Barrymore.

NormaMajors1992coat · 13/03/2025 09:00

Thoroughly recommend re reading the OP, it’s even more hilarious now that we know how terrible the viewing figures are 😂

Even the haterz can’t be bothered with it.

What will be the excuse reasoning I wonder - by some coincidence the supporters have all been busy? “Sometimes the really successful shows start slowly - look at the US Office”? Something to do with the weather? It’s not like there’s much else big to watch right now. Maybe people are saving it for when they can buy all the products it’s advertising 🤔

FarmerDramaLlama · 13/03/2025 10:06

Twitter is still filled with nutters going on about what a massive success those numbers are. They’re really not. If half the viewers were just watching to see the fuss it’s a huge flop in real terms. I won’t watch any of the next set, I don’t want to contribute to the numbers.

Imagine if Catherine did a programme like that what the numbers would be.

Thedom · 13/03/2025 10:07

Yes and her instagram follower count has barely increased, from 2.3m to 2.5m (including plenty of bots) you would imagine it would have exploded since the airing of the show and debuting the kids on Social Media. Almost 3 months since she announced her Insta and it's a pretty dismal follower count considering the launch of the kids and her name recognition. I don't think the interest in her is there at all anymore.

Thedom · 13/03/2025 10:22

This is funny. a SS fan posted this about Catherines Christmas carol event, only got 3 million views, so a resounding fail in their eyes, wonder what they think of their idol's miserable 2.6million views.

I guess MM couldn't even make the same viewing numbers globally, as a religious event at Christmas time on a local British TV channel.

As ever season two: fluffy eggs (with sparkling water) on faces!

I would imagine the Catherine / William / Mary Berry thing a few years ago got more than that on the first transmission, just in the UK, and not counting iPlayer.

I dont think she appears drunk at that LA red carpet event. She does look anxious and is over expressing herself - think this was her first public appearance since The Hollywood Reporter investigation exposing her bullying if staff in the US was published - so I expect she was 'skittish' - similiar nervous energy as to when she did the unplanned walkabout at Windsor with W&C&H.

She was probably self conscious in that awful red dress.

That walkabout (in the context - after they'd lost their popularity) must have been hellish for her (and for the others). Meghan is clearly too scared to return to the UK because she knows she will not be welcomed by 90% of the people who turn out for royal appearances, and she's managed to avoid most of the events which Harry has returned for. But the Queen's funeral...she couldn't get out of that, and it must have been tough.

In fact, just as tough as it would have been for William and Charles and others in the aftermath of the Oprah interview. I remember William did a visit to a school and was asked 'Are the RF a racist family?' to which he replied 'We are very much not a racist family.' So Meghan, who I'm sure, would only ever wish to appear in public on her own advantageous terms and not as a boring or difficult duty (which the royals have to do) would have had a taste of what she put the RF through.

glitterturd · 13/03/2025 23:41

I be keep n on reading this as faeces. Meghan probably does that too - elevate their faeces .

glitterturd · 13/03/2025 23:41

Sorry I keep on reading this as ... or just go with my Jamaican version 😂
