As ever season two: fluffy eggs (with sparkling water) on faces!

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!

Despite the ‘almighty’ British media, the rightwing US media and the internet brigade attempting to outdo each other with their crushing, supposedly annihilating reviews of Meghan’s As ever show, not only has it spent the past days in Netflix’s top 10 in more than 40 countries (including being Nr 5 in the Meg-lovin’ UK), Netflix have renewed the show for a 2nd season!

And of course, Netflix are also actively supporting the launch and commercialisation of Meghan’s As ever product range.

So, some folks have plenty of (hopefully fluffy - add sparkling water!) egg on their faces right now, and none of them are Meghan. She’s delivered the perfect put-down to her detractors with her “Lettuce romaine calm” pun, playfully announcing her Season 2 on her Instagram…. and adding a bum wiggle which to me said “we’ve obviously known for months that there’ll be a season 2, but y’all didn’t, so we’ve let you play with your silly headlines and review-bombing about this being ‘the end of the road’ and we ‘should kiss goodbye to Netflix’ BS, before making you all look like the obsessive fools you are by announcing season 2. Back-off and just chill, folks!”

Too funny! So far in this little PR war, it’s Meghan 2, detractors 0. Basically, the general public don’t GAF about the screeching online: if the show’s a good watch they’ll watch it, and they evidently are… kinda like… a certain biography, that other Sussex review-bombed ‘abject failure’ that still went on to become a Nr1 bestseller in the UK and US…

So, where did the gormless twopenny British journalists and their equally misguided US counterparts go wrong (again)? They were so eager to wield the knife into Meghan (a soooo much easier and risk-free target than Elon Musk, Donald Trump or even Andrew Tate, whom they’re evidently too chicken sh*t to go after with a tenth of the vitriol they enjoy hurling at Meghan), that they forgot to read the not so small print.

That small print includes the words “Netflix” and “Sony Pictures Television”, producers of As ever.

Now, who wields more power and influence over US viewers and consumers, Marina Hyde and her fellow sour-grapes, or Netflix and Sony Pictures combined (not to mention People magazine, Drew Barrymore, etc)?

Hmm… tough one.

So next time spineless journos want to pile-in on a mixed heritage woman for the heinous crime of launching a feel-good lifestyle business, maybe they could read the small print about who’s backing her and turn their Trump and Musk a*s-licking tongues in their mouths a few times before spouting off, lest they end up being the ones looking utterly ridiculous?

If you feel the British and right wing media have been spineless in their continued attacks on Meghan Sussex, discuss!

Meanwhile I need to find me one of ‘em ‘Lettuce romaine calm” baseball caps. Etsy sellers, get to work!

A woman posting about her own mother and daughter on International Women’s Day - how dare she acknowledge and celebrate the women in her life? We all know the only acceptable time to acknowledge one’s mother is Mother’s Day.

Clearly, the only acceptable way to celebrate IWD is by personally curating a list of historically significant figures, or perhaps submitting a dissertation on feminism. Anything less is obviously self indulgent and a crime against womanhood. We really need to remove all the titles - this cannot stand.

Edited

It would have been a really great opportunity to revisit and highlight some of the women she met on her pseudo royal tours in Nigeria and Columbia, surely?

Lol at those having a pop at them for not being environmentally friendly or their carbon footprint whilst they themselves aren't either and aren't carbon footprint zero themselves.

Edited

Good grief, this is dim even by your usual standards. As if any of us on here could even come close to matching the carbon footprint of Meghan and Harry. What a foolish comment.

There's a reason that recipe was buried back in 2019 by an unknown person!
It's not a workable or particularly good idea!
Real chefs don't even condone adding milk to scrambled eggs!
Fluffy eggs involve whisking intensely!!!
Adding milk is done normally to make the eggs go further, but at least add a creamy if not thinner consistency.
Adding water sparkling or not just leads to tasteless thin scrambled eggs.
Adding sparkling alcohol to dishes to make them bubbly or fluffy makes sense because the fizz is created by fermentation and is more stable, carbonation of water is not , heating carbonated water makes it flat !
Anyone who carbonates water at home knows this , the colder the water the fizzier the it is!

I presumed people like MM add water to reduce the calorie content of their portion. Could be wrong though. I can't think who else would do it but exteme dieters.

Completely correct though - obviously I have no right to criticise H+M because although I rarely fly, never take private jets, mostly buy second-hand clothes, eat mostly vegan, don't water my garden in a state where there are water shortages, never buy balloons, rarely drive a car and never lecture other people about being more environmentally friendly, I did leave the hob on by mistake the other day 😱

Absolutely completely the same as H+M.

If only she was married to a multimillionaire white prince! 😂

You see for those who cry racism - this is something I have never understood. Bagging a white prince?? Is that suggesting that a black or man of colour is not good enough? Is the white relevant ? Is it the prince ie wealthy which is important? It's a bit of a put down to men of colour isn't it ? Doesn't it suggest you are somehow " bettering yourself" by doing this? I really don't get this. I know that within certain communities it is a belief that certain men are not good fathers or husbands. Is it to do with that? You see this comment time and time again on fan comments in insta. What's wrong with Barack Obama or Denzel Washington?

Why do Meghan Markle's fans always sound like they are 11 years old? That is some of the most juvenile writing I've seen on here, really odd. How old does one have to be to join this site?

Well as we now know many of them were cultivated by Meghan from the Suits days ( Meghan was the only one of the actors to make contact with them ) when they were indeed young teens. Some of course are from countries where English is not their first language but they feel some connection to Meghan because she is an "African princess" . I suppose some of it is Insta language. When you do look into some of these accounts you find very little in them other than this. People who follow thousands of similar.

But you have and buy technology that has a big carbon footprint, along with lots of other things you buy. You still fly even if it's a commercial flight. You still use electricity etc which isn't environmentally friendly.

I never said its the same but don't bang on about other people when you aren't any better either, you aren't carbon neutral.

glitterturd · 09/03/2025 15:22

@Spectre8 you seem to be missing the point here. We all know we impact the carbon footprint and each person tries to maybe lessen that but and it is a huge BUT there you have Meghan and Harry with all the miles they have tucked away on private flights last year alone and she's selling balloon arches and other crap. It seems to be a case of do what I say with eg Travelyst but heck we do what we want to 🙄 as far as h and m go!

Oh please. You can’t lecture the public about it when you rack up the air miles whilst flying by private jet. It’s hypocrisy at is very finest.

Am I reading this correctly? So to be in a position to criticise anyone else's efforts to live a more environmentally friendly life, you yourself would have to give up using electricity? Really??

Dear lord. No logic?! We all use electricity, so we're as bad as a woman who uses private jets frequently, has a mansion and big grounds in California which use precious water resources?
Reaching 🙄

No-one is carbon neutral. However, Meghan and Harry live the millionaire lifestyle and take private jets like buses so they can stop with the pretence that they are in any position to lecture the riff raff.

Thedom · 09/03/2025 15:43

Yeah, looks like you have to be living off grid to criticise those who use private jets and live in mega estates with aircon and massive watering systems.

😂

Haha! OMG it's worse than I thought - hey, you use electricity right? Then stop criticising millionaires for lecturing on the environment one minute and taking private jets the next 😂😂

You have no idea what I buy or how often I fly (only for work btw). But you can rest assured, environmentally speaking, I am certainly better than them and perfectly entitled to point out their hypocrisy.

NormaMajors1992coat · 09/03/2025 15:46

I quite agree. Yet here we are. Meghan is elevated by her marriage to a white prince. Some people on her are full of admiration for her status, and I've no idea why. It's so regressive. Just as she used IWD for self promotion, she's using her Royal status for $$$$.
I've no idea why she's so admired.

FromTheOfficeOfJammyTodger · 09/03/2025 15:53

I'm pretty sure even Greta Thunberg isn't carbon neutral. There's a vast difference between the utilitarian consumption of the average citizen, and the carbon footprint of people like MM and PH, who do not practice what they preach (and earn money to preach) in any way whatsoever. I mean, this is clear, yes? If MM's hostessing is demonstrative of her usual activities, then she's an environmentally irresponsible person. But we already knew this from the excessive private jet use.

Baital · 09/03/2025 15:54

It's the lack.of nuance.

There's no difference between using electricity, and a high-resource lifestyle such as H&M (while they lecture lesser mortals about reducing their carbon footprint)!

Very strange.

Just as Lili's blue eyes matter...

Sayitagainmyl · 09/03/2025 15:56

I couldn’t have put it better myself, OP. Meghan knows how to overcome her critics. She uses their obsession for her own gain. Of course, it doesn’t matter how much evidence there is that this woman is winning, the bitterness that consumes the obsessors has left them devoid of all reality so they NEED to believe that she is a failure and a mockery. When in truth, Meghan is laughing all the way to the bank. You can’t help but admire her game 👏👏.

RominaDina · 09/03/2025 15:57

Flying your hairdresser 1k miles in a private jet or going to Leanne on the high street for a blow dry?
It's the same!

How is she 'winning'?

She has lots of media attention right now. My impression is she is hoping for a career presenting lifestyle content. It seems a bit early to call whether she will get that or not. 'Series two' isn't actually a commissioned second series.

Maybe she will get another commissioned series. If it pays for NF no doubt she will.

The question is whether series one (both parts) give NF what they want in terms of subscribers. My impression is that it won't, but I have no.inside info. Maybe it will.

But I don't think anyone can say she is winning or losing at this point - just comment on the trends they see.

And wait for NF's decision.

It reminds me of all the comment on the Lemonada (sp?) deal after they were dropped by Spotify! Lots of talk about how great that was for H&M, yet nothing so far delivered.
