Meg must be spitting feathers after talking so much about their shared Sussex surname that the People Magazine headline is "Meghan Markle's most intimate interview in years"

And Vogue and Town and Country headline uses also Meghan Markle - as did US magazine - cant open Forbes?

Overhaul54 · 03/03/2025 21:44

But Sussex is a title not a surname surely?

Oh I get it. There was Luann of Real Housewives Of New York that was a Countess.
Meghan needs a totally fictitious Royal surname to top trump Luann's single use title.

It can take 24 hours to make a bone broth and when I was going to make some just a couple of weeks ago it would have cost me the equivalent of 60 dollars.

I had a lemsip instead.

Meghan's not making it! They sell it in cartons over here - I have two different types in my cupboard right now. However, I do also have several bags of homemade chicken stock in my freezer - I'm a Mumset Chickener who uses every last part of that damn bird!

This is the popular one where I am - https://www.kettleandfire.com/products/100-grass-fed-beef-bone-broth-32-oz

4-Pack: Beef Bone Broth - 32oz

Savory, slow-simmered beef bone broth made with grass-fed bones and organic vegetables.

Tracy Robbins crafts mixed drinks in mason jars for their mahjong game night.

Mason jar cocktails? Well I never …. I probably said in 2015 when they were first served to me.

Serenster · 03/03/2025 21:54

(That was from Town and Country’s review, by the way).

Late on the same review we are told “They discuss the concept of kintsugi and Tsai tells her, “Things that have lived and been dropped and put back together again are more beautiful,” to which Meghan starts to tear up”.

A concept so unhackneyed that literally the exact same message using kintsugi as a metaphor featured in in Call The Midwife last night….

BemusedAmerican · 03/03/2025 21:56

Yes, you can buy boxes of bone broth at Trader Joes. Several brands make vegetable stock, but I usually make my own ( I'm vegetarian). Bone broth became trendy about 3 years ago.

Meghan seems to be out for lunch in her pyjamas.

She is but we should be grateful they are not beige but navy blue. Novelty! She's missed a trick though. Royal blue would have been even better.

LaMarschallin · 03/03/2025 21:59

M&S do frozen "bone broth" cubes even in our tiny local one.

BasiliskStare · 03/03/2025 22:06

Waitrose , Sainsbury's and Holland and Barrett sell bone broth. I like it . Not sure if I had it at 3 though. Can't remember. If we were unwell , for comfort , hot ribena. But they've buggered abut with the recipe now so I wouldn't give it to the dog.

As a child of the 80s, I got Campbell's tomato soup and lucozade when I was sick.

I used to make banana faces for DS1 when he was a tot as he wouldn't bloody eat anything. If I had just had some As ever edible flowers to sprinkle on them...

My brother in law who lives in Japan explained the concept of kintsugi to me when I dropped a favourite mug on our tiled kitchen floor and the handle came off. He suggested kintsugi-ing it up with some super glue. I shed not a tear , just told him that sounded like an accident waiting to happen.

How unlike the home life of our own dear Duch.

Isn't bone broth a Gwyneth Paltrow thing? I remember reading something about her having it every day due to the collagen.

She’s bristling as Mindy Kahling calling her markle! I’m surprised she didn’t make her call her duchess and curtsy.

‘When Kaling calls her “Meghan Markle,” Meghan corrects her. “It’s so funny, you keep saying ‘Markle’ … you know it’s Sussex now. You have kids and you go, ‘I share my name with my children.’ I didn’t know how meaningful it would be to me, but it just means to much to go, ‘This is our family name.’ Our little family now.”’

She said that on tape?? She's making a point about her branding and associated inferences to the RF ON TAPE?? On the same network that she slammed the RF on?

Un-fucking-believable.

Onlyonekenobe · 03/03/2025 22:17

“They discuss the concept of kintsugi and Tsai tells her, “Things that have lived and been dropped and put back together again are more beautiful,” to which Meghan starts to tear up”

Let me guess, she was thinking about herself. Silly me. I thought she might have been weeping with regret at all the friends and relatives and employees she's dropped along the way, perhaps hoping that they've managed to put themselves back together again. The tears could be tears of remorse, or regret, or self-pity. Who knows with Meghan Markle.

This will out me to those who care: it was around 2015 that I started requesting that my drinks not be served in a Mason jar pleaseandthankyou. Not because they're naff (which they are) but because I go out to eat and drink and spend x5 the money to NOT eat and drink from my old glass jars and mis-matched crockery.

This is all sounding a hundred times worse than I dreaded.

Well, quite. Meghan has herself caused quite a lot of damage in her time.

it’s also quite ridiculous: this is Meghan’s show, which she will have okayed the guests and the contents and have worked to loose scripts. So the reference to kintsugi would have been planned in advance. “Meghan began to get tearful” though? Sounds a bit like deliberately tugging at her audience’s heartstrings to remind them all how much she’s been through…

BasiliskStare · 03/03/2025 22:31

Also from People “And my gosh, in 10 years, Archie will be driving!”
Not only that - At some point very possibly there are two unwitting souls out there who will end up with MM as a mother in law.

Me! I tried every trick in the (Annabel Karmel) book to get my dcs to eat fruit and vegetables. In retrospect, it's incredibly naive to think a child is going to eat something because of an 'elevated' presentation. The trick might once or twice but not more than that.

Gwyneth and Meghan are not going to save the planet serving bone broth. How many cows have to breathe out carbon dioxide to supply one earthenware bowl , thrown by a Cali potter in a American Riviera orchard shed made from repurposed pine planks, of the stuff?
