She's not running a burger restaurant. She's a privileged Trad Wife trying to spin a lifestyle that isn't hers. It's entertaining though! 😂

Some people do like to present their food at home nicely, I like my food to look appealing and not just put on a plate or in takeaway containers. I put my take away into plates, bowls etc. I often add extras, if I do order chips I add truffle to mine since I like truffle and not many places sell truffle chips.

You may decide not to and many other wouldn't but there are plenty of others who do.

StrawberryWasp · 03/03/2025 18:19

This has all made me laugh and cheered me up.

Meghan does bring Joy.

No. Plenty of burger restaurants present their chips like this. Gourmet burger would put their chips in a metal pot and sauces came in small bowls. You could get truffle or cheese versions.

Can't remember which resi was at but the chips came in a mini fryer basket on a wooden board which had the burger on it and the sauce in a small dipling bowl.

I didn't think you were capable of humour, but I'm howling at this 😂 😂 😂

jeffgoldblum · 03/03/2025 18:20

It's all so hilariously grandiose isn't it!!!
It reminds of that sketch with Glenda Jackson on the morecombe and wise show!

" all men are fools.... and what makes them so ... is having great beauty like what I have got! "

Of course that was a comedy show but still! 🤣

To be honest, I'm with Meghan , there is absolutely no excuse not to present every meal as if it were cooked by Heston Wotsisname and you should all be ashamed of yourselves for not elevating every plate of food that you dish up.
I live alone and even I love myself enough to take the time to show how much I appreciate me and the effort of warming up my Aldi microwave meal.

Was that flower petal on its way to an ice-cube when you rudely interrupted it to throw it on top of a pile of rice?

I suspect most of us use plates and bowls. 🤣

And have sauce.

Dolaly · 03/03/2025 18:21

at home with Archie as he stirs awake, sleepily telling her, “Mama, don’t work too hard.”

I think this is a very telling comment from a little boy, I think it leans into what a lot of commentators say about her not being around her kids a lot.

It resonates with me, my DH travels a lot for work, and I remember when our kids were younger, they would ask why he was going away again, his answer was always 'because I have to go to work' and he would get similar comments to what Archie said to his Mom.

It's actually quite sad really.

stillavid · 03/03/2025 18:22

With regards to an American way of speaking - I meant not being shy to talk about their achievements and accomplishments. I have certainly encountered that in my working life - Brits tend to downplay where as Americans are more confident to speak about what they have achieved. I do think there are cultural differences and that was the biggest problem she faced within the RF.

And I do think she dresses better in her relaxed LA way rather than the RF code which to me looks like going to a wedding most of the time and I think most people would struggle with that. I didn't mean colours. I have a similar body type to Meghan and formal clothes are hard and lord alone knows I would never want to stand next to Kate who wears that type of style very well indeed.

And yes of course she has tweakments etc but honestly that is what a lot of people want to know about.

Her whole programme looks to be superficial but personally I would love to know more about which tweakment she has rather than how to unbox some noodles.

Anyway, I mostly am here for the tiaras and fashion and the odd Alexis v Krystal fall out amongst the royals.

jeffgoldblum · 03/03/2025 18:22

I'm amazed @Spectre8 !! You have truffle at home??
But don't stock flour or eggs!
Odd.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 03/03/2025 18:23

She’s just a new version of Hyacinth Bucket! The Sussex residence, Duchess of the house speaking! Will we see her preparing a candlelight supper on her show?

VeryconfusedNana · 03/03/2025 18:23

Ref Mamas chicken.

My adult children refer to some of the things I’ve cooked for a long time as Mamas lamb curry, mamas chicken, mamas steak pie. And my grandchildren do the same but they call it Nanas lamb curry etc. It’s what they’ve always done of their own accord and it’s their way, I assume, of showing that in their opinion mine is the best.

Yes, but we don't need Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex to tell us how to use bowls and plates 🙄

With bread & butter?

I didn't have time to freeze it evening as I didn't want to keep the ladies at my yoga class waiting, I know how much they look forward to saying hi to me.

BasiliskStare · 03/03/2025 18:25

And did you forsee it would be so since they were small?

Yes families develop their own vocabulary history and stories but they emerge naturally and you don't usually announce to the world ones that make you sound great in advance.

A couple of pickled onions strategically placed will elevate your chips

It is just extraordinary. So lacking in self knowledge. So arrogant. So out of touch. So elitist.
So unintentionally hilarious 😂

But she's not elite, herself, and she knows it! So what this really is, is an affectation of elitism! 100% Hyacinth Bucket!

What you and Meghan have described is normal mealtime behaviour. And truffle? I have about 3 different varieties in my cupboard because it’s such a common ingredient nowadays it’s available in many forms. My chips would have truffle salt and Parmesan cheese added to them, or perhaps a bit of truffle oil with Parmesan cheese. But I don’t like oily things so it would probably not be the latter.
