@MrsLeonFarrell it's with love though!!!

Very true, I'm just being ungrateful.

User14March · 27/02/2025 16:10

Regal biscuit elevation - icing & ready made mix kits, Meghan! You’re welcome…

GiveMeSpanakopita · 27/02/2025 16:11

MrsLeonFarrell · 27/02/2025 15:59

So, not only has she touched everything on my plate, she also dropped it from height? Yum.

Yes. It's the Meghan Experience. You crouch down in a deep hole whilst she paces imperiously about, 50 ft above you, and occasionally drops bits of food down into your awaiting maw.

On the food will be written messages, insincerely assuring you that you are loved.

This may or may not be a metaphor for Harry's day to day existence.

StrawberryWasp · 27/02/2025 16:14

Fair enough @GiveMeSpanakopita that mystery and speculation isn't genius marketing. (Responding from last thread)

I guess to those of us (me) who have no marketing experience, can't help thinking there must be more planned to be revealed and in place than there seems. It cannot possibly be so high profile and with Netflix involved and be as amateur as it seems.

So one explanation would be deliberate mystery for speculation.

If speculation paid she'd be a billionaire.

TheSecondMrsCampbellBlack · 27/02/2025 16:19

Thanks for the new thread

What the Duchess from Monte knows about elevated fruit you can taste in our juice…

Underlings, crew & H all wait anxiously by to see if others bees/chickens/pineapple/bananas/oranges pass muster…Will she say YES?!

Can anyone link to best ad?

User14March · 27/02/2025 16:38

(Subtle luxe jet lands)…

To the Martha Stewart’s of the world she’s humbly known as ‘The Duchess of Monte’!

Her job? To award the Duchess Monte name to only the FINEST fruit!

Today, these strawbs :( have NOT reached the PRECISE moment of ripeness!

BUT TOMORROW (!) ‘The Duchess of Monte’
KNOWS they’ll be thriving, PERFECT!

Say YES to the BEST the Goddess, the ICON The…Duchess of Monte!

Sod the cake mixes - what I want to know is why the hell some available products couldn't have been sorted out for when the show's aired

With Netflix supposedly backing it I'd have thought they could provide someone with the expertise to get this across the line, so now I'm wondering if they've deliberately left it to Meghan knowing she'd make a hash of it, as further justification for not renewing the contract

Good theory. I have suspected since the soft launch of ARO that there are no products. Netflix already looks a bit silly but will obviously survive. Meghan, though, is in real trouble.

BemusedAmerican · 27/02/2025 16:45

My idea of a regal biscuit is Walker shortbread, available in all supermarkets & Trader Joe's.
.
BTW, TJ sells a huge spanokopita for $3.99. Imported from Greece

There's a new Hilary Rose article in The Times, full of marvellous digs.

isaknowsbest · 27/02/2025 16:50

God Meghan loves herself 😂 she's just so much funnnn 🙄

Onlyonekenobe · 27/02/2025 16:59

Just catching up on last thread.

Someone asked whether an actual blooper real wouldn't be fun to watch? Not for me. I would feel very uncomfortable watching someone quiet shout at people doing their jobs, bullying people who know better into doing what she wants, a dictator strutting around in high heels or Hermes slides or even barefoot manipulating and switching it on/off for the camera.

I do also notice that her munificence seems to be reserved for men who look deeply sceptical. If that video is a teaser, lord help us. Aren't teasers meant to be the best bits?

Also, there's something about the lighting on that set/kitchen that makes the whole thing feel really depressing. Maybe it's meant to be gentle light, moody? To me it just looks like a wet and overcast day in suburbia. I'm sure the outside shots will be better.

Welsh cakes and spanakopita are THE BOMB.

Cake and pancake mixes are shit and disastrous for anyone seeking to launch a brand, let alone one based on cooking and entertaining. Fuck I'd be so pissed off if someone invited me over and fed me a box mix cake! They're the easiest bloody thing to make.

The focaccia didn't prove overnight, hence why it looked flat. It needs a short prove, a mix and then a longer (8-12 hour) prove. It's that darn attention to detail again.

The clothes are so, so, so wrong. That blush pink shirt and trouser combo is from the Jane Pauley interview. Love a rewear but that really isn't lifestyle-show-shot-in-a-kitchen clothing. Gah, why can't she get these things right??

Finally: I'm going to repeat my suspicion that they have no team. When you imagine Harry and Meghan as they might have been without the RF connection, they're (her) a mediocre, cosmetically enhanced, excessively skinny ex-actress past her best and (him) a terminally thick and entitled bozo with issues. They don't deserve to be taken at all seriously and the only reason they are is because of who he was born to. Without A LOT of help, these two have nothing to offer in a very crowded field. They come across as having nothing to offer right now, and that I think is because they have not much help at all. There is no social media team. There is no on-tap stylist and MUA and hairdresser. There is no on-tap security other than that one guy who's always photographed with them. There is no on-tap PR person or on-tap booking agent. All these things cost an ungodly amount of money and these two don't want to spend it even if they have it. This all looks like amateur hour because it is amateur hour: it's just the two of them, a laptop and phone each, and an awful lot of self-belief and aggrandisement. For all their tuning their backs on the RF, they are holding onto it with a white-knuckled grip.

NotaRealHousewife · 27/02/2025 17:04

@BemusedAmerican thoroughly approve of the shortbread 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Uricon2 · 27/02/2025 17:14

@JSMill couldn't reply on the last thread but totally agree about the aims of Newman's Own.

Unfortunately I think H&M may upend his famous saying from when his first product made profit, "Let's give it all away!" to "Let's keep it all". They pay lip service to philanthropy.

Have been thinking that maybe, just maybe, there is a cunning double blind going on and the 4th March will be the launch of a whole range of ethically sourced, affordable, desirable products and we will all be amazed and humbled.

I then remembered that I'm awake and 1/4 is some time away.

Vespanest · 27/02/2025 17:16

I have more hope for Meghan with the Netflix show than as ever, Meghan is still struggling with the instagram followers even after last nights drama. Teigen who was mentioned in the other thread has over 40 million followers and still took years to break even. Even Pamela and Dolly are better numbers and Meghans followers will include those who are following for reasons other than admiration. I wouldn't be surprised if the brand is tied to proving she has a market and that market will not necessarily be the Netflix viewers numbers. I can see people watching with love waiting for a car crash but not in a million years are they going to put their hands in their pockets for a Meghan branded product.

BemusedAmerican · 27/02/2025 17:21

Just found out that our POTUS, Trump, is addressing the Congress on March 4. I know what I'll be watching.

BasiliskStare · 27/02/2025 17:44

@Words and @Uricon2 -Brava both of you for your Betjeman. Here is another poor offering. I remember this for its poignancy & I have only had to change a couple of words - it's not a laugh out loud one.

The Last Laugh

I made hay while the sun shone.
My title sold.
Now, if the harvest is over
And the world cold,
Give me the bonus of netflix
As I lose hold.

Exactly.

Being royal is really a great privilege. You can get so much admiration and prestige without being anything special at all. It's the titles, the status and of course the royal machine working diligently in the background which does all the heavy lifting.

I wonder if Harry is still so dismissive of the 'men in grey suits'? Because without them, he's really not up to much. And neither is his wife.
