Meghan confident that the kids are inheriting her business. Which is insane. We all know it won’t last.

‘Adds Meghan: “I hope that when they get old enough, they feel really proud that they were part of the beginning of this with me.”’

This can't be real- she hasn't even got anything for sale yet.

myrtleWilson · 03/03/2025 16:40

21 mentions of 'love' in that article (not counting references to the series title) I wonder what message it is trying to convey...?

JADS · 03/03/2025 16:40

This might be a stupid question, but what is People magazine? Is it like Hello? It just seems to print silly planted articles. This one is like Meghan trying to clap back at all the criticism she has received - she has no real friends, she works for Archwell for 1 hour per week etc. Yoga with 40 - 50 people sounds absolutely awful, surely 10 is the maximum.

MissFenellaPrism · 03/03/2025 16:41

I strongly suspect that Charles will have made some financial provisions for Archie and Lilibet, because he is a decent man, and because he's realised what idiots the parents are.H&M are not making the kind of money to sustain their chosen lifestyle.

StrawberryWasp · 03/03/2025 16:41

That article following the earlier discussion about how she fabricates on her 'wonderful life' is just like an illustration of the nonsense.

The self obsession that her being herself on TV is bringing her friends joy. As if her friends are just bit players in her life waiting for her to succeed. Main character syndrome there.

Then the children call them 'mama's meals' and will remember them forever, calling roast chicken Mama's chicken as adults.
She's writing her own mythology and pretending the kids say things they don't, and then imagining a future where they wax lyrical about her.
It's weirdly insane.

Meghan, we all cook for our kids. It's called: What's for Dinner.
You aren't some earth mother where your children already sense your wonderfulness and you can tell they'll talk wistfully about it in the future.

The stuff about sacred spaces, we all call it: Home/ My House.

Day dates: we all call it having a sandwich with Dave. (We don't have to say 'my husband' because people we're speaking to know who Dave is.)

And we call it: Get the Plates Out, That One's Dad's, when we're elevating the Chinese takeaway.

She is spectacularly deluded.
God this show is going to be appalling.

And there was I ready to give her a chance 🤣

Onlyonekenobe · 03/03/2025 16:41

Just read that article. It's astonishing.

Even if you take it at face value, there's not a single thing she says that doesn't show her in a bad light. Self-absorbed is just the beginning of it.

But actually, given how People is effectively paid-for PR, it's worse than that. This is on a part with the The Cut article. She does not come across well in this AT ALL. Everything she says is communicated in such a way that it can be taken at face value (nauseating, per the above) or with hidden layers (per The Cut, and none of those layers do Meghan any favours).

To me, she comes across as a woman with an inflated sense of self: I'm just normal! We love normal! We lover normal so so so so much! And we love it extra because we haven't had it for ages because we're unique! So unique! With such unique problems! So unique that even having a surname in common is special unlike other people! But don't confuse me for a trad-wife who took her husband's name because I'm a feminist! Empowering girls and women all my life! Ugh I could go on but it's bleurgh. She is not likeable at all. Even in this article, she comes across to me as bitter and resentful and beyond arrogant. Yuck.

It has a reputation for being exceptionally favourable to H&M. Newsweek it ain't.

Yes, People is basically a PR outlet which only prints stories preapproved by the celebrity's team. It has earned the nickname 'knee pads' for a reason.

I also can't imagine a yoga class with 50 participants. You might as well be doing it online because the instructor won't be able to offer personal guidance with so many people. Around 15 is usually the max for these types of classes in my experience. And I'm not a duchess who has to fly privately because of 'security' and is supposedly a big target for the 'paps'. I think she's made this story up.

What's with them and the whole kids inheritance?

First we have Harry declaring he can't spend his inheritance from Diana because it's for his kids!

Second we have Harry declaring that he's leaving invictus yo his kids (it's not even his to leave !)

Third we now have Meghan declaring she's leaving her ( nonexistent!) business to her kids! 🙄

isn't this the kind of stuff that Harry complained about, the 'being trapped\ by virtue of the expectations from the family business.

IdaGlossop · 03/03/2025 16:51

Whatever your opinion of Meghan, this is sycophantic, saccharine copy. There is no mention of a launch date or teasing of products, which I would expect in a piece like this. The line that stood out for me is the one about putting the finishing touches to As Ever and With love, Meghan. There is little evidence of any proper work having gone into As Ever - trademark not approved, no product range, no staff, a mere holding page for the website, no marketing, the visual identity not cohesive, emails unanswered. Meghan is good at talking up her projects but terrible at delivering them. Will this one be any different?

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · 03/03/2025 16:37

Considering this programme is about food, it’s making a lot of us feel nauseated. Doesn’t bode well if your audience feel like throwing up before it even starts.

Ha ha ha ha!

It is a saccharine interview.

NormaMajors1992coat · 03/03/2025 16:52

Even if such a class exists, there is no way Meghan is lowering herself to do yoga with 40-50 randoms, even if they are rich Montecito randoms.

Stickystickysticky · 03/03/2025 16:54

I wonder what Harry thinks, we all know he's a bit dim but even he must read this and think WTF !

AtIusvue · 03/03/2025 16:56

I bet you any money, Chinese takeaways at her house involves ‘hoose rice’ 😜

TheSecondMrsCampbellBlack · 03/03/2025 16:59

Some translation:

“I appreciate everyone who gave me the grace to make mistakes and figure it out and also to be forgiving with myself through that. It’s a learning curve," she says."
= I am a complete business fuckwit who has no idea what I'm doing so I am trying to Own It but it's hard when it's a teeny bit more than a 'learning curve' - it's more like a shitshow from Montecito

“There are tons of twists and turns — even with the name,” she says in her most intimate interview in years. “I was figuring it out in real time.”
= I don't even know how to google copyright law and I'm not speaking to Benita any more so she won't help me.

“When I was last on social media, Boomerang was the thing,” she says, laughing. “Instagram Stories didn’t even exist. So it’s been a minute.”
= I have no idea what I'm doing with social media which is why I am messing it up so spectacularly

AtIusvue · 03/03/2025 17:06

I’ve got to give it to meghan. Ive been feeing a sense of dread the last few days, what with all that’s going on in the news. Great to know we can rely on the zero self awareness of meghan to all give us a bit of a laugh! X

Stickystickysticky · 03/03/2025 17:07

I could understand and forgive this if she was just an ordinary woman off the street trying to figure out how to set up an instagram page (me) but she's not, she's got a whole bloody production team behind her, there's absolutely no excuses for her to have cocked it up so badly.

Uricon2 · 03/03/2025 17:11

She's had years to get this right. She's had access to literal millions of dollars to get this right. The show launches tomorrow and we still don't know what she'll be selling in her product line, apart from jam. Any sales impetus will be lost because the show IMO will go out without any tie ins and if actual physical goods do appear at some point, I'll wager "love, Meghan" will be a distant memory for most people.

MissRoseDurward · 03/03/2025 17:13

Bringing your kids up to know the importance of getting an education and to have a good work ethic is more important than leaving them oodles of dosh, imo. I don't think it does young people any favours to grow up knowing they'll never have to work for anything they want.

Good point. Everything is so worrying and rubbish but we have the Gordon Selfridge of Montecito as a distraction!

Wrong. People will view With love, Meghan through a backwards-angled and relatable lens, creating community by supporting a strong, independent female founder 😆

I think Bill Gates said he would leave his children enough money to do something but not enough to do nothing. Of course that is a man with an incredible work ethic.
