Meghan has renamed her luxury lifestyle brand 'As Ever'.

'As Ever essentially means as it's always been, and if you've followed me since 2014 with The Tig, you know I've always loved cooking and crafting and gardening — this is what I do,' she said. '

What does the colour of her skin have to do with it ?
The only bully I can see is Meghan herself .

Today's script.
As Ever is a brand of clothing based in New York. I wonder if they have the trademark already.

Just popping this here too!

Brilliant plagiarism as it’s best, as ever. Thanks for sharing this

JustMyView13 · 18/02/2025 11:30

It’s fascinating how so many people spend so much time hating on Meghan. A person they have never (and probably will never) meet.

For everyone who despises all she does, a few helpful reminders:

You can block her profiles on social media to prevent yourself from seeing her content.
You don’t need to click on articles which mention her or her family or her brand.
You can ignore her new show on Netflix, and set your social media profile to mute content like that so you see less.
You can avoid engaging with posts on MN that talk about her life, projects and content.

It really is that simple.

Chuchoter · 18/02/2025 11:15

@Mittens67 I agree. Meghan is an attractive woman, I don't like the human hair extensions but that's her choice to make.

Her face and figure are irrelevant to any negativity, it's what she says and does that many dislike.

I didn’t realise she wore them. Bleugh! Plus where do human hair extensions come from? Some poor woman trying to make ends meet?

I don't think they have the trademark, but I'm not sure where I read that so it may be wrong.

EsmaCannonball · 18/02/2025 11:32

It just shows where Invictus lies in their priorities now. Harry used to say it was the most meaningful thing he had ever done, now it's a marketing tool for his wife's jam-flogging business.

SlightlyJaded · 18/02/2025 11:32

@JustMyView13 Oh. Are we not allowed to have opinions on people who persistently push themselves into the public eye? I thought that was the point of them...?

Or perhaps, we only allowed to have positive opinions.

I don't understand this reply?

There had been a tendency on threads about Harry and Meghan for any cricism of them to be interpreted as racist rather than opinions based on their words and actions.

These accusations tend to derail the thread and it descends into arguments. It hasn't happened for a while though.

jeffgoldblum · 18/02/2025 11:33

Why did you feel the need to look for , find a thread , open it , and then post that?
I would say you should take your own advice if seeing perfectly normal criticism of another person you don't know upsets you @JustMyView13 !

When Nigella Lawson moved from being a reasonably famous journalist into a celebrity chef it worked because it was clear she had a lifelong passion and deep knowledge about food. She's got the old family cookbooks and the handwritten notebooks covered in food stains. Although aspects of her shows are clearly staged (it's not her house, it's a studio), you do get the sense that she is the kind of person who cooks food and then stands eating it at the kitchen counter.

With Meghan it just feels like Suits never translated into a bigger acting career, she was heading into her forties with the prospect of nothing better than Hallmark made-for-TV movies in front of her, and so cookery and lifestyle influencing is just another angle.

Nigella is also a very talented writer. She wields words like aromatics. She also has a sense of humour and knows the power of gentle self-ridicule.

IsoldeWagner · 18/02/2025 11:34

@JustMyView13
It's also important to differentiate between criticism of a person who chooses to be in the public domain and who is very controversial, and "hate".
Hate is quite different. If you see it on here, report it
Otherwise, anyone can criticise the behaviour and choices of someone who chooses to be a celebrity and has been somewhat controversial.

Oh look at this ---

Escudo de Porreras

Isn't that very similar to her new brand logo -

Nigella is intelligent and interesting.
She is also a good writer and cook.
Very different.

As Ever- I think it's a stupid name.
I thought American Riviera Orchard was one word too long.
American Riviera or Riviera Orchard or even American Orchard but not the 3 together.

But what do I know.

Why though ... its pure entertainment.

Its always a joy to watch the grandiose and delusional stumble into another mess of their own making.

The hypocracy and preaching of a public figure is fair game and satisfying to pick apart.

Its pure giggles served right up on a nearly daily basis - so many surprises never fails to disappoint.

  1. The thread appeared as trending on my homepage, so none of those things happened.

  2. I never shared an emotion so to conclude I am ‘upset’ is quite odd.

It's like being back with the girls school bullies - can't hate the woman of colour in public but online .. no problem at all - shameful to have so much hate for a stranger - and this is parents forum so most of you will have children soaking in this toxicity - makes me shudder to be so negatively invested -

Did/do you hate Rishi Sunak? Priti Patel? Kemi Badenoch? Kwasi Kwarteng? Did/do you hate them for the colour of their skin or for the things that they did/do?

I'm a WOC. I really liked Meghan to begin with and did a lot to celebrate her entering the RF with my daughter and her friends. I thought she'd be a fine role model for my mixed race child. My daughter has grown up to be kind, hard working, perseverant, loyal, honest and naturally very beautiful. Luckily, nothing Meghan Markle is has rubbed off on her.

HeyIAmGlidingHere · 18/02/2025 11:46

So can Porreras in Mallorca give her a hard time or not? Weird logo to use.
Also as a pp said, asever.com does look like sever. Surely someone noticed that?
She'd have been better keeping it all simple with her face on the jar (like Paul Newman and his sauces) and using My jam to start off with.
Then see whether it took off. My jam is my jam was a decent slogan. And her signature on the label.
Could have then branched out with My limoncello or whatever she moved on to.
I guess the issue may have been yanks calling jam jelly and My jelly having bootylicious vibes.

CoffeeCoffeeTea · 18/02/2025 11:46

Should rebrand as ‘What ever’

Chuchoter · 18/02/2025 11:49

I loathe and despise David Lammy. It's nothing to do with him being a black man. It's his odious political views that I hate.

But any criticism of him is met with 'You're a racist!'

It's wrong to shut down debate, discussion and criticism by saying it's only because of a person's ethnicity that you are negative about them!

I also cannot stand Tilda Swinton and she's practically an albino!

Mildly invested - enough to engage with a trending thread - yes, hence the use of the word fascinated.

But Jeff said I’m upset, which I find quite odd.

If you can be mildly invested, is it
not ok for people to be mildly critical?

IcedPurple · 18/02/2025 11:52

The whole thing has a very 2009 vibe to it. And she's frankly too old for this wide eyed breathless persona.
