Meghan has renamed her luxury lifestyle brand 'As Ever'.

'As Ever essentially means as it's always been, and if you've followed me since 2014 with The Tig, you know I've always loved cooking and crafting and gardening — this is what I do,' she said. '

I can't get past the A Sever reading of it.

A Sever Official just makes me think of a Sharia law amputation of hands for theft.

Who ON EARTH would ok this as a brand name?

It's weak in itself because it's not distinctive of anything. The best brands either encapsulate what they are about (Netflix) or are quirkly distinctive (Moonpig) but either way are memorable. As Ever is as good as Au revoir or Best wishes. It's so common and trite as to be forgettable. A good brand advisor would bin it before they started.

Then when you realise it reads as A Sever... what were they thinking.

Hand amputations as a brand. Crack on.

BunnyLake · 19/02/2025 16:54

If As Ever is not a success (I hope it is even though I can't stand them) I think they need to regroup and think about what it is they (or she) really want. I think she should pick a lane and focus on that and stop with the scattergun approach and stop trying to compete with Catherine or any of the RF.

So if As Ever is a success no more faux royal tours, no more contrived pap shots timed to clash with other RF events (or even Harry’s), no more Invictus unless she stays behind the scenes for support, no more speeches there or anywhere else when she’s not the focus. In a nutshell behave like the forty something, intelligent, accomplished woman she’s supposed to be instead of the giddy, scatterbrained teenager she projects. Fingers crossed it’s a success if for no other reason than she’ll focus on that and put a stop to all the bs.

Lots of ifs. If Meghan and Harry had gone to California in 2020 and lived their lives quietly. If they had put their weigh behind Archewell and made a distinctive impact with it. If Harry had spent more time promoting Invictus. If they had focused their press appearances on philanthropy. If they had heeded their many advisors. All tthat would have created goodwill. Then the brand would have been obvious: By Meghan.

@IdaGlossop I did wonder if the new iteration was deliberately not mentioning her name ? Otherwise another idea could have been Love , Meghan like the series .

Or Love Meghan. How insincere it sounds, knowing what we know.

How much money has been wasted now on aborted branding?
Sussex Royal?
American Riviera Orchard?
And now, possibly, the palm tree logo for As Ever?
Have I missed anything?

friendlycat · 19/02/2025 16:11

I kind of agree with you here.

I'm by no means a fan of these two, but surely there's only a certain amount of criticism and flack that a person can take before they start to become rather unwell.

It seems that this latest brand roll out is full of problems yet again that are going to weigh heavily on her. But then my logical brain tells me why or why did she not do this properly and be guided by the professionals who are well versed in how this all works?

My underlying take from witnessing the events surrounding this couple over the past few years is that they simply do not think things through in a steady and enduring manner. But it becomes so perplexing to fathom why and how they are where they are when they had exposure to top flight professionals (especially at the beginning of their break from the UK and the royal family) who could have guided them to some platform of success that could have been built upon for the future.

The problem is hugely magnified when there is one mistake after the next and an amateurish approach to so much that they do.

Then it is compounded with the faux royal tours that just leads to more ridicule and questions of who and what are they trying to be? Especially when they are visiting some fairly dubious countries where the benefit of them doing a royal tour really is not apparent to the wider audience.

In my mind it just encapsulates exactly what the late Queen thought in the half in half out approach simply doesn't work.

But I then come full circle back to the fact that they would have been given substantial advice, especially in the beginning, by significant players in the business of how to capitalise on their position and actually build something solid and relatable but it would all have taken time.

The problem is they are now in such a weak position and completely tarnished by so much negativity I simply cannot see a way forward that has any resemblence to what they aspire to be.

Grandiose and delusional personalities think they are superior to others so dont need their advice.

What was that 40th birthday initiative? Involving women? I don't know if that's still going.

I agree.

But they both made a catastrophic mistake right at the beginning by blowing up their association with the royal family. They quite literally blew their "stardom" to dust.

Their only star power was PH's royal lineage and her previous career as an actress. They needed to retain sophistication, glamour and style, empathy, and a certain mystique. They needed to behave with decorum. They needed to still look connected to the British royal family whilst choosing to live in another country. They needed to maintain cordial and pleasant relations with their relations.

But they engaged in negativity right from the get go and they put themselves firmly in a negative position. Airing your dirty laundry in public is never a good look and certainly not when some of the accusations and statements don't stand up to scrutiny. It looks vindictive and petty. These are not the looks that you want to exude.

Also neither have any experinec of planning, strategy, team working etc.

MM endeavours and experinces were only to be sharp elbowed and to hustle. All she had to do in her previous life was loads of self care, tweakments, exercise etc and learn lines. That requires minimal brain capacity and zero collaboration and team working - so to be grandiose and delusional enough to believe you can chnage the world / be a producer / run a global retail empire when your skills consisted of booking your waxing appoinments is arrogant.

And may I conclude my post with this: if we do end up having another Caroline Flack situation, I do not want to see any hypocritical thread on "being kind" and mental health. It will be on you and people like you and frankly on platforms that allow this type of almost daily piling on on public figures.

Though we've been here before with the claimed suicidal ideation I obviously don't want Meghan - or anyone else come to that - to harm herself in this way, but it's interesting that you've put any potential blame on others

It's a well worn path that anything negative which happens to them always has to be someone else's fault, but how about Harry who is after all her husband, has accessed therapy himself and who's there on the spot to support and hopefully guide?

ERthree · 19/02/2025 17:29

LipglossAlly · 19/02/2025 07:56

Having concerns about the skin colour of an unborn child is racism (please note that the word used was concern)
Not coming out to defend your grandson when likened to a chimp( mind you said grandson is of African descent) is racism.

Some media headlines when it comes to Meghan scream racism.
I could go on and on for the entire day.
The way that women was treated whilst in the UK is abhorrent, period.

If you want to continue to play dumb that is on you.
If you want to continue idealise a family because they are "ordained by God "that is on you.
If instead of focusing on the fact that whilst we are all struggling under the strain of this COL crisis this lovely , classy family that you are so bent on defending has access to tax cuts and advantages that me and you could only dream about that is on you.
If tearing apart almost on a daily basis a woman that had the gut and decency to say no to racist abuse, speak out and rebuild her life makes you feel better that is on you

Decency ! Not a word i would use when describing her. Errant selfish and liar would be words i would use if being polite.

I'm more concerned about her staff and the emotional devastion she wreaked on many of them over the years. I do hope somelawyer pulls them all together to hold her accountable.

40 at 40 ( I think) .
I once asked about this but one of her fan club said that Meghan wasn’t obliged to give an update !
I just thought it would be nice to hear any success stories .

In the past year, the Pacifica Small Jam company was bullied by the SS to the point where Yelp was involved. Then the SS complained about a UK food bank taking donations. Now that poor NYC clothing chain is being harassed.

Factor in the Hollywood Reporter and Vanity Fair articles. Ashley Hanson talking in her podcast about needing therapy. Tom Bower being openly threatened by the SS at the IG.

What about the mental health of all these people?

There is now an 'As Ever Photography' company who has changed their instagram to

Established 2013
Way before Meghan Markle.

What an unmitigated disaster, I really can't believe it.

DuchessDissasster · 19/02/2025 18:13

There are so many good posts on here today which sum up the sorry situation.

I mean how difficult is it really to set up the legalities for a business? They have millions of dollars so why do they not have advisers who do this for them ? Are they doing this themselves? I know I wouldn't be.
Why have a dog and bark yourself?
It's like the blind leading the blind .

There are two other possibilities. That they ignore advisors who are giving them good advice. Or that they haven't appointed advisors who know about branding and trade mark registration and are doing everything themselves.

As Ever Photography is TM according to their account - which makes me wonder if you can't trademark 'As Ever' because it is too broad?

And all the ex husbands/partners, friends, colleagues, family and her Dad who she has ghosted? They must all hurt.
