Why do Harry and Meghan tell porkies that are so easy to prove wrong?

YaMuvva · 28/05/2024 15:44

Starting with the porkie that Archie wasn’t gonna be titled. Anyone who understands the Letters Patent would know that as long as the Queen was alive this was never gonna happen. I said this when watching the Oprah interview and I’m pretty appalled they told such an easily provable lie.

Then Harry said that daddy cut his security off. Anyone who knows about RAVEC knows it is independent of the Royal Family and Charles couldn’t do this if he tried. Same with “Only titled people get security” / this was so easy to prove wrong.

And why are there 2 versions of the proposal story. Did they think we wouldn’t notice? Is one a Hollywood version for their American audience?

The same with the ‘how they met’ story - in their engagement interview they said it was a blind date, to Netflix they met on Instagram.

I also was puzzled at her saying she never wore bright colours and that royal women could never wear the same colour as the Queen. It’s just nonsense. See below pictures.

Why do they do this? My theory is that everything they do now is for an American audience who are used to the reality TV narrative of “Some scenes have been created for entertainment” style TV and just accept their narrative as partly fictional, as long as it’s entertaining?

He said in an interview he had ADHD. Try googling before being so damn rude and making a fool of yourself in the process. If you can quote me when you apologise, I'll get the notification. Thanks

Well this is embarrassing because you are wrong

The irony though.

He didn’t I think someone just made it up out of thin air.

And, thanks to the internet, a year from now it well be “fact”.

LumpiBolleaux · 28/05/2024 21:00

@Sarah2891

Do you think you’ll get quoted so you can see their apology?

I think it would be damn rude not to….

@Rippledipple the Evening Standard write up of 10 key pointers from the Mate/Harry interview doesn't refer to Harry agreeing with Mate - was it an interview subsequent to this one that you believe Harry said this?
https://www.standard.co.uk/lifestyle/prince-harry-gabor-mate-interview-trauma-expert-b1064966.html

Doesn’t Harry look like Robert Webb as Jeremy in peep show in this picture - or is it just me?!

Rippledipple · 28/05/2024 21:28

Can't link as I didn't pay for the interview when Gabor Mate said 'I diagnose you with ADD' and Harry thanked him.

I'm not a fan of Gabor Mate, but he widely credited as an expert in his field.

As I said in my initial post, this thread and no doubt others like it have a very nasty vibe that despite Mumsnet reputation, I haven't seen elsewhere. It could just be the people they attract. As the thread is set up to spew vitriol, I am admittedly naive to request an apology from those that revel in that sort of thing. This clearly is not the thread for me!

But anyway I think anyone who's interested now knows what I was referring to. If indeed Harry is ND, his children may well be too and their development may well be outside the scope of what some here will be familiar with. As you were. Unfortunately.

myrtleWilson · 28/05/2024 21:34

@Rippledipple So you repeatedly said that PH had declared he was ND but now you're saying he just said 'thank you' to someone who unethically diagnosed him in an interview (one which he now regrets). I think the link I shared stated PH said "ok, should I accept that or do something about it" to which GM replied "You can do what you want with it"

And now you're 'if Harry is ND' despite being, lets put it politely, determinedly snippy to posters who questioned your post... ??

Earlier on you said it was ADHD. Which one is it?

LumpiBolleaux · 28/05/2024 21:36

If indeed Harry is ND…

That ‘if’ is doing a lot of heavy lifting.

Bit of a change from the absolute statement before.

LumpiBolleaux · 28/05/2024 21:38

And it is not nasty to point out that someone is mistaken in their understanding.

LumpiBolleaux · 28/05/2024 21:38

Or speaking bolleaux.

Lol. You're the one who needs to do some googling.

Then you’re welcome to start a thread about either of them

'As I said in my initial post, this thread and no doubt others like it have a very nasty vibe that despite Mumsnet reputation, I haven't seen elsewhere. It could just be the people they attract. As the thread is set up to spew vitriol,'

No, not to 'spew vitriol', to point out that much of what Harry and Meghan do is divisive and damaging, much of what they say is exaggerated and tbh, much of it is untrue.

If you want to see true vitriol, perhaps have a look at the Sussex Squad's outpourings - now there's real nastiness, mostly against someone who has done nothing to deserve it.

'I am admittedly naive to request an apology from those that revel in that sort of thing'. Well no, you demanded, and not in a good way, an apology from someone who pointed out you were actually wrong.

LumpiBolleaux · 28/05/2024 21:50

I am admittedly naive to request an apology from those that revel in that sort of thing

I’m not sure why you expect apologies from those who have said nothing wrong and have merely challenged an erroneous statement.

Thankfully, we have long since learned not to expect apologies from those who double down when they speak pish.

He didn’t say thanks for diagnosing him he joked ‘thanks for the free session’.

You said Harry has spoken about his diagnosis and quite rudely demanded apologies for the ‘damn rude’ people who doubted you. Considering YOU are the wrong one are you going to apologise?? By YOUR standards it would be the right thing to do.

Discussing the lies of two people is spewing vitriol? A bit ironic coming from someone who demands apologies when they themsleves spew nonsense.

The best parts of the H&M netflix documentary were the 'I love the part .......' comments on the youtube trailers.

A few for a laugh

I love the part where H asks, “What on earth happened?” He’s soooooooo close to figuring it out guys. The suspense is killing me!

I love the part when Harry wore a swastika on his arm, then proceeded to lecture the world on how WE’RE the problem. Such a class act.

I also love the part when Harry says its painful for any woman marrying into the family then attacks his sister in law

I love the part where they claim Meghan was SO popular, more popular than the queen even. Or wait no- everyone was racist and hated her. Uhm..

I love the part where Meghan tells a journalist that people in South Africa rejoiced in the streets for her wedding the same as they did when Nelson Mandela was freed from prison, and you suddenly realise that she is not joking.

I love the part where they plead for their privacy and then do an Ophrah interview, a Netflix docu series and I guess Harry has a book coming out early next year......

I love the part where Rachel can’t find any actual footage of herself being chased by the paparazzi, so she generously shares her documentary spotlight by using footage of Catherine Princess of Wales and Diana being hounded by the paps. So thoughtful!

I’m curious about this too op, I find the behaviour really quite odd and they both do it. They bare faced lie. The most recent one lying that Charles didn’t have time to see Harry, when he not only did, he also offered him accommodation, it was Harry who said no. Why lie. They do it repeatedly.

it’s really disturbing behaviour.

JSMill · 28/05/2024 22:02

I forgot about the claim that South Africans danced in the streets when they got married. There are so many fibs, it's hard to remember them all.

LumpiBolleaux · 28/05/2024 22:03

Thank you thedom 🤣

As said, I hate liars. And am not terribly fond of hypocrites.

Yeah, that was pretty nasty to lie about that, the way they and they PR team attempt to manipulate things is beyond the pale.
