Why do Harry and Meghan tell porkies that are so easy to prove wrong?

Starting with the porkie that Archie wasn’t gonna be titled. Anyone who understands the Letters Patent would know that as long as the Queen was alive this was never gonna happen. I said this when watching the Oprah interview and I’m pretty appalled they told such an easily provable lie.

Then Harry said that daddy cut his security off. Anyone who knows about RAVEC knows it is independent of the Royal Family and Charles couldn’t do this if he tried. Same with “Only titled people get security” / this was so easy to prove wrong.

And why are there 2 versions of the proposal story. Did they think we wouldn’t notice? Is one a Hollywood version for their American audience?

The same with the ‘how they met’ story - in their engagement interview they said it was a blind date, to Netflix they met on Instagram.

I also was puzzled at her saying she never wore bright colours and that royal women could never wear the same colour as the Queen. It’s just nonsense. See below pictures.

Why do they do this? My theory is that everything they do now is for an American audience who are used to the reality TV narrative of “Some scenes have been created for entertainment” style TV and just accept their narrative as partly fictional, as long as it’s entertaining?

I don't hate marchioness Rose I'm sure you hate princess Meghan though

You clearly do hate Rose otherwise why bring up spurious unfounded rumours about her, a lady you don't know (to slightly misquote you.)

As had been repeatedly said on this thread, pretty much all the criticism of Harry and Meghan is down to things they have said and done themselves - not rumour or gossip, but words that have come out of their own yaps. No need for investigation, or believing tabloid headlines, just listening to the pair of them.

SmileyHappyPeopleInTheSun · 30/05/2024 14:00

I think they mean Prince Harry and princess Harry.

I though it would be his actual name - Henry not the* *nominative Harry but quick google just left me even more confused.

This suggests there are more titles than I was aware of - and they already don't follow the rules :

Next there is Harry’s appointment as a knight commander of the Royal Victorian Order (KCVO) which would make him Sir Harry if all other titles were lost. Whether he would use that title may be doubted. Meghan would be Lady Mountbatten-Windsor, not Lady Meghan, but doubtless would ignore the rules (as do many wives of peers, knights and baronets) and call herself (and be called) Lady Meghan, just as she currently ignores the rules by styling herself ‘Meghan, Duchess of Sussex’, which would be correct only if she were widowed or divorced.

I personally don't think they'll lose any titles unless they do something drastic to cause upset - and I think Harry won't take USA citizenship because the titles would be lost.

To Strip or Not to Strip Prince Harry's Titles | Middle Templar Magazine

Amidst the clamour for the Duke of Sussex to be stripped of his titles, Master Graham Zellick examines Prince Harry’s various titles – prince, duke, HRH. He analyses if and how they might be removed and the wisdom and likelihood of this being done, que...

So basically, you are repeating the rumours because you are a fan of the Duchess of Sussex to give her her correct title. Are you one of those who will try anything to discredit the Prince of Wales? What do you think about the unpleasantness directed at the Princess of Wales following her cancer diagnosis?

I wish princess Kate a very full and speedy recovery she is clearly very loved and very much needed if only even by her children who are the most important in her life

Nice swerve 🙄

SmileyHappyPeopleInTheSun · 30/05/2024 14:03

In US they can just legally change their names and become “Prince” and “Princess”.

or Prince Duke and princess duchess. Whatever they like! No one would be surprised.

That could work - remember so advertising person being interview saying they'd hired someone who'd change first name to Lord and let people assume rest.

As long as media went along would probably work better.

In fact to add to that and I will emphasise I am not a fan, but I hate they imaginary way she has been treated by her husband that I and others like me have just made up in order to somehow support the person we do like and no, I do not see how utterly batshit it is to make up rumours about someone as a way of supporting someone else

Fixed that for you.

I asked you what you thought about the unpleasant things that have been written on social media about the Princess of Wales since her cancer diagnosis. You have not answered this, but are now trying to further other baseless rumours about the Waleses. That tells me all I need to know 😊

OneHeartySnail · 30/05/2024 14:16

Probably trying to run the thread to the end in the hopes of ending the discussion

When you insist on trying to peddle pish without any proof.

BemusedAmerican · 30/05/2024 14:21

Here in the US, there can be only one true Prince. RIP.

However, Prince, Princess, Duke, and Duchess are still popular names for dogs in the US ( cat owners tend to be more original).

Harry can officially change his name to Prince but might want to stay out of a dog park.
