Why do Harry and Meghan tell porkies that are so easy to prove wrong?

Starting with the porkie that Archie wasn’t gonna be titled. Anyone who understands the Letters Patent would know that as long as the Queen was alive this was never gonna happen. I said this when watching the Oprah interview and I’m pretty appalled they told such an easily provable lie.

Then Harry said that daddy cut his security off. Anyone who knows about RAVEC knows it is independent of the Royal Family and Charles couldn’t do this if he tried. Same with “Only titled people get security” / this was so easy to prove wrong.

And why are there 2 versions of the proposal story. Did they think we wouldn’t notice? Is one a Hollywood version for their American audience?

The same with the ‘how they met’ story - in their engagement interview they said it was a blind date, to Netflix they met on Instagram.

I also was puzzled at her saying she never wore bright colours and that royal women could never wear the same colour as the Queen. It’s just nonsense. See below pictures.

Why do they do this? My theory is that everything they do now is for an American audience who are used to the reality TV narrative of “Some scenes have been created for entertainment” style TV and just accept their narrative as partly fictional, as long as it’s entertaining?

Is that relevant to the thread? Meaning, do you think that that is the reason for her demonstrable lies?

I completely agree. They spout all of this stuff but then don’t practice what they preach.
X has been particularly bad since the Nigeria visit to try and distract from the negative news stories surrounding the Sussexes. The trolling and hate is mainly being aimed at Catherine sadly. However, their accounts are slowly but surely being suspended.

It’s ok not to be ok.

In fact, I can add a bit to your nasty rumour: the source of that bit of spite has been said to be Meghan herself when she met GC at Soho House (in the Cotswolds). Now I don't believe every bit of gossip I read (unlike you) and I don't necessarily buy that. But lots of people do, and I for one wouldn't put it past Meghan. So what do you say to that? (Oh wait - you'll say it can't possibly be true??).

The King seems fairly happy to have some of his medical information released but I don't think the Princess of Wales was in fact they likely only released what they did due to huge pressure thanks to the on-line bullying campaign that fueled media speculation to point they had to do something.

Indeed. And they can't take refuge in ignorance because they clearly do read what's said about them and the royals on social media. Given how many dreary hours of the Netflix docu and their speeches both H & M have devoted to droning on about social media "bullying".

There is a world of difference between ‘fair criticism’ and hammering a woman’s personality, looks, actions, voice, words etc repeatedly - there is nothing fair in that.

Anyone who makes their living by lying is fair game whatever gender or ethnicity they claim to be.

Good question. @Ellaelle please could you explain why you take such utter delight at the thought of families being involved in salacious gossip. It doesn’t even matter which families, it’s the delight in it that I’m questioning.

If using the UK titles it's Prince and Princess Henry - like Princess Michel of Kent - it the man title being shared with spouse sounds odd to modern ears it's how it's done in UK.

Unless it's the recent Nigerian title recently given - but I don't know how that one gets applied.

If Harry becomes a USA citizen rules there mean he'd lose his titles - so Meghan wouldn't be Duchess of Sussex either - strangely because it never got changed in USA law kids born with titles and USA citizenship get to keep their titles.

I am skeptical of the level of vitriol sometimes toward W&K. I think it’s very unkind to Meghan and Harry because it always results in a load of historical and present day home truths being shared about them. Facts and not obviously untrue gossip.

I didn’t know about Rose and Harry sitting next to one another at the state dinner until today. Certainly seems like a plausible reason that Coren was given false info with which started his rumors.

In US they can just legally change their names and become “Prince” and “Princess”.

Oh I doubt that very much - some people have said that various traits she displays are a bit narcissist but why would she get herself diagnosed for this. She wouldn't surely. Harry I think said he wouldn't try to get her help for mental health because it was hard despite being an advocate for MH issues -so why do this.

I do think various things she has done ( personal opinion ) in the words of little sister Sophie on Gogglebox - she has played Harry like a two bob fiddle.
