The royal family

Why do Harry and Meghan tell porkies that are so easy to prove wrong?

Starting with the porkie that Archie wasn’t gonna be titled. Anyone who understands the Letters Patent would know that as long as the Queen was alive this was never gonna happen. I said this when watching the Oprah interview and I’m pretty appalled they told such an easily provable lie.

Then Harry said that daddy cut his security off. Anyone who knows about RAVEC knows it is independent of the Royal Family and Charles couldn’t do this if he tried. Same with “Only titled people get security” / this was so easy to prove wrong.

And why are there 2 versions of the proposal story. Did they think we wouldn’t notice? Is one a Hollywood version for their American audience?

The same with the ‘how they met’ story - in their engagement interview they said it was a blind date, to Netflix they met on Instagram.

I also was puzzled at her saying she never wore bright colours and that royal women could never wear the same colour as the Queen. It’s just nonsense. See below pictures.

Why do they do this? My theory is that everything they do now is for an American audience who are used to the reality TV narrative of “Some scenes have been created for entertainment” style TV and just accept their narrative as partly fictional, as long as it’s entertaining?

The idea that we are all green with envy because of her brilliant career, stunning looks and fact she married a prince is insane. The poster who mentioned criticism thinking is spot on. I wonder about the state of the US education system when I see some of the posts I’ve encounter on Twitter. I think there is a special place in hell for those people who have made TikTok accounts dedicated to the problems between the Sussex’s and the RF. whatever has happened and whoever is to blame, profiteering from other people’s pain is despicable.

my fav porkie was meghan had NO idea about the royal family, who they were, anything about them at all..... until very late in the relationship 😂

Again Meghan did not say that. It was always nuanced. She said she did not know much. How much is much? Again we don’t know.

How more conceited can one get

"What's been echoed so much really in the past day by men and women alike is 'Oh! We weren't surprised when you found out you were Nigerian, I say that mostly as a compliment to all of you, because what they define as a Nigerian woman is brave, resilient, courageous, powerful, beautiful,"

I was conscious of the fact that there are little girls that I meet and they’re just like, ‘Oh my God, it’s a real-life princess.’”

Its remarkable how she somehow manages to always make a word salad of meaningless bile but also has undertones of “Aren’t I amazing” and also “Remember im a Royal!”

It's the press and posters like the OP that keep this circus going. I, for one, am getting pretty sick and tired of seeing these "Meghan and Harry are liars!" posts that rise to the top of the trending posts.

Change the record, please!

No

You could just read other threads if you don’t like?

Imagine being so arrogant that you thinks site with millions of users should only ever have threads YOU want to read on it

You might be sick of seeing it, but that doesn't mean the question has been bottomed out.

The list of untruths is quite extensive, as is the lack of apology for any of them (rather Harry doubled down on equal validity of misrememberings and verifiable events) but the reasons for adopting that approach are unfathomable, which is why people chat about it.

H&M talk about wanting to move on, however if they keep on with the strategy of their version (that is referred to as "their truth" but which is actually not truthful) then this isn't going to be easy. Because who is going to believe anything on the strength of their say-so now?

My personal fave is when she complained to Oprah that no one taught her how to cross her legs.

And also complained that she had to learn the national anthem off Google, presenting this as a hardship akin to a spell in a Victoiran workhouse.

As a gifted and incredibly successful actress, surely observation, mimicry and line-learning should be easily within her wheelhouse.

Yes I thought at the time “Did you expect someone to download it into your brain?”

Has the Bouzy bugle call gone out?

Oh stop. Not everyone who doesn’t think Meghan and Harry are devils incarnate are part of the Sussex Squad, or have anything to do with Bouzy.

👌

Well someone’s got to think she’s amazing so it might as well be her. Not convinced Harry thinks so anymore. There’s only one true love in Meghan’s life and that’s Meghan, it’s clear for even the dimmest of her fans to see that everything is always about her.

Also Harry reckons Archie’s first word was ‘crocodile’ and that is just unbelievable, of all the lies they tell this one always annoys me most for some reason 😆

Especially if you know what 'crocodile' probably means here! Ugh.

She might also remember she is not a real live princess, but a princess by courtesy of her marriage to a prince of the RF - she is the Princess Henry (as Catherine is the Princess William).

IsoldeWagner · 29/05/2024 09:45

Not just her title; Meghan owes everything she has now to marrying into the RF.

She’s not gifted and incredibly successful though. She made her living from burger ads and being a suitcase girl until she got a part in a third rate series . That’s literally all she ever did that could really be called acting. I doubt very much she would have married Harry if she had been incredibly successful.

DingDingaling · 29/05/2024 09:49

YouJustDoYou · 28/05/2024 19:51

Nah she completely mocked it.

Nope. Again this is the inability of some to have any objectivity or understanding that Meghan actually has a goofy side when it comes to humour.

….she was MOCKING herself! It was never about mocking the Queen, RIP. You’ve only to watch or read the many, many times she praised her late Majesty.

DaggerIsle · 29/05/2024 09:51

Re the marriage story, I was put off not by the lie but by the way they described their actual wedding as a 'spectacle for the world'.
How patronising to the RF, the crowds of well wishers, and the huge amount of public money spent on the day.

DingDingaling · 29/05/2024 09:52

awaynboilyurheid · 29/05/2024 08:08

Agree! she had met Beatrice knew her but didn’t know who Harry was?
Just another lie, as you say op there are SO many.
Didn’t Megan DM some British guys I seem to remember Matt Cardle (singer) got a message from her about arranging a date, she then hit the jackpot when she managed to get Harry. I remember being so excited watching their wedding with the rest of the country, watching Charles walk her down the aisle. They have just got it so wrong with their victim mentality and lies.

Misrepresentation again. She never said any of that. She said she did not know much. How much is much. Again we do not know.

I don't think she was mocking herself when she says the whole idea felt like a weird medieval ritual so she went all out.
Sounded more like a mockery of RF etiquette pandering to US sensibilities.

Their marriage stands as good a chance as anyones. However, the extra stresses on any couple puts greater strain on the relationship. If they could just settle down. Problem is how are they going to get any money.

Vopik · 29/05/2024 09:57

So I’ll start off by saying whilst I’m not a Meghan fan per se I massively respect her eloquence, confidence and tenacity. I’ll never forget the Fab Four panel where she was running rings around the others. Sadly, Kate (despite all her education) could barely string a sentence together in public for many years. I personally also really like her style and hair choices.

But she is a narcissist. And narcissists will literally say anything in the moment to make themselves look good. Hence all the porkies - M says what makes her look to the audience in front of her at the time. It’s also why she gives off that sickly sweet/ disingenuous vibe.
