Rose Hanbury denies rumours

US media are reporting that Rose Hanbury, Marchioness of Cholmondeley, has denied rumours of an affair with Prince William.

“Business Insider reached out to all parties involved with the affair scandal. While Kensington Palace “declined to comment,” Hanbury said through her lawyers that “the rumours are completely false.” This marks the first time that Hanbury has publicly said something about the affair ever since the rumors emerged”.

This looks like it was in response to a joke about William/Rose/Kate relationship on ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’.

I feel sorry for her. She isn't a public figure and now she's centre of a nasty media storm because some people are weirdly obsessed with the royal family.

I don’t think it is an obsession with the royal family but an obsessive need to speak shite and the mistaken assumption that we will be thrilled with their input.

I guess it's unlikely she would have confirmed the rumours.

But she could have just said nothing. The rumours have been circulating for years, maybe having the media say your husband isn't the father of your teenage son has just been the straw that broke the camels back

The media have also been saying he spends most of the time living in France with his male partner.

She was 19 when they met and he 42. They married shortly after.

I think the principle of securing succession with an heir and spare is very firmly established in the aristocracy as with the royal family.

She is a mother with three children who is putting her children's welfare above all else. Good for her. I would not want my kids to have to live with this crap being said about them and their parents.

People who don’t care if there any truth in a rumour that was denied by the source are not going to take a denial as any form of truth from Rose, probably the opposite and the lady doth protest too much cliche will override the no smoke without fire crap

I'm absolutely appalled that the press and that disgusting misogynist filth Colbert have seen fit to heap cruel defamatory nonsense on these two families. This has to be causing immense distress to everyone involved. This is spiteful and hateful and utterly wrong on every level.
