Rose Hanbury denies rumours

US media are reporting that Rose Hanbury, Marchioness of Cholmondeley, has denied rumours of an affair with Prince William.

“Business Insider reached out to all parties involved with the affair scandal. While Kensington Palace “declined to comment,” Hanbury said through her lawyers that “the rumours are completely false.” This marks the first time that Hanbury has publicly said something about the affair ever since the rumors emerged”.

This looks like it was in response to a joke about William/Rose/Kate relationship on ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’.

I don't think 'the rumours' have been explicitly repeated in the context of a high profile mainstream media show before, have they? With her family name made into an unfunny joke?

At what point do you think she should have 'addressed the rumours'?

Or, because the rumours have just been brought fully into the mainstream, rather than just circulating on social media, by a US tv host publicly naming her on his national show…?

I read that as “irrational show”, which seemed apt.

I think he actually took it down following a major talking down from his employer and fears they'd loose royal access.

Why would she? As far as I know, she is not planning to sue anyone.

Also go back in press archives and you'll see the same sh*t ton of negative press on Catherine and her family from the same period.

It's not a victim Olympics - it's all crap, but no ones suffered more than any other. Excusing bad behaviour towards one by saying the other gets it better is childish and pointless. None of it is appropriate.

Actually most people are oblivious to the drama. My brother follows US politics on X and he attributes the drama to foreign bots.
My coworkers who read People, etc don't see what is wrong with her twerking a family photo
They also don't understand why William is being condemned for taking time off to spend with his family. They think Kate is right to spend time with the kids.

I have never seen a social calendar for an elected official. Mine send out period emails and newsletters to let me know what they are doing.
