There’s a back view of her today in Twitter. It looks as though she straightens the top layer and her natural hair adds the volume. Previous hairdressers have told me to do this as it protects the hair.

RoyallyRhubarb · 23/02/2024 11:47

Front view = fabulous!

Back view = me on the school run without the benefit of the front view.

A tailored coat with a belt feature at the back would have provided an interesting detail.

mrsmingleton · 23/02/2024 17:36

The coat looks like one of those fake suedette waterfall things they sell.

MrsFinkelstein · 23/02/2024 18:30

I have always thought Meghan can look wonderfully stylish, but she often fails to dress for her body type.

She often wears clothes too big for her. The constant too high waisted, too long, too wide fit trousers are a disaster, and while I like that coat, I agree with a PP, a more tailored fit would have been far more flattering.

And (pauses for dramatic effect) I rarely like her shoes. The only ones I did like were the black Aquazzora (sp?), but she never wore them correctly which irked me.

I have basic Brie, some cheddar, gouda and Wensleydale with cranberries.

Turtlerussell · 23/02/2024 19:12

I’m presuming even mild non-fawning is frowned upon in certain circles hence the use of this safe space 🙂

Can’t comment really, Anne’s more of a style icon to me personally, pushing boundaries and inspiring fashion houses, and a new men’s collection. I collect vintage pieces so really love the blend of the old with the new. And how ‘rewear’ is a basic standard 😄

No cheese consumed here today, mostly homemade brown butter shortbread 🧈 🍪

AliceOlive · 23/02/2024 19:21

What are your cheese plans for the weekend?

Thegreengreengrassofhomes · 23/02/2024 19:39

I bought a nice fat slice of Gorgonzola piccante this afternoon from Eataly at Liverpool St…

AliceOlive · 23/02/2024 19:42

I’m thinking Brie.

RoyallyRhubarb · 23/02/2024 20:20

Can I just say that Wensleydale with cranberries/berries / any sort of fruit is not going to have a place on my table.

The Parmesan is being attached this evening, though.

RoyallyRhubarb · 23/02/2024 20:23

I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry but this made me laugh. On Twitter: “Queen at Live Aid 1985”

@RoyallyRhubarb 😂

mrsmingleton · 23/02/2024 20:57

I agree @MrsFinkelstein Meghan's coat looks way too big for her . She can look great but also there are massive disasters eg the red weird top dress. I think she tries to disguise her shape as she is an inverted triangle hence the off the shoulder things which actually widen her there.

MrsFinkelstein · 23/02/2024 23:04

I'm off to Gran Canaria tomorrow morning - so I'll be partaking of whatever cheese Gran Canaria stocks.

And cocktails. Probably more cocktails than cheese tbh

RoyallyRhubarb · 23/02/2024 23:58

Words fail me.

Have a lovely time @MrsFinkelstein ans make sure you get up early to bag your Sun lounger from those pesky Germans.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 24/02/2024 09:19

@MrsFinkelstein Gran Canaria cheese is all goat and sheep. You will be craving pre-sliced Leerdammer for a bit of variety after a while. But such a lovely island, so have a fab time!

I once had an incredibly expensive Gorgonzola Martini in a chic bar in the BVI years ago. I basically paid to drink a glass of what can only be described as tasting like alcoholic vomit.

Has anyone followed the Heritage Foundation court case over Harry's visa, that had a hearing yesterday? They are suing Homeland Security over the failure to provide FOI responses to whether Harry lied about his drug use to get a US visa. HS argue that is a private matter, so can't be FOI'd. HF argue that Harry wrote about his drug taking extensively in Spare, as well as in his interviews, and have also used his interview in Canada last week as proof that he's considering seeking US citizenship, so none of it is a private matter. From what I've read, Homeland Security's argument is basically that we can't believe what's written in Spare about the drug use! So, according to Biden's government, Harry's a bit of a liar!

Maireas · 24/02/2024 09:41

Harry's a bit of a liar 😂
I think we can safely say that he's not a reliable narrator of his own story.
So many things easily contradicted, easily disproven, and some things so petty as to be risible.

Maireas · 24/02/2024 09:43

Anyone else see the sweet scenes of Charles reading all the Get Well Soon cards? He was so touched, it was lovely.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 24/02/2024 09:50

@Maireas I've seen a few clips and I heard him tell the PM he was a bit tearful about them. He's a real softy. Love the card with the dog saying "At least you don't have to wear a cone"!

Maireas · 24/02/2024 09:54

I know - that was a funny one! I think he understands that he doesn't have the loyalty and popularity that his mother had, and what with various family members, 🙄probably feels like he wouldn't have got so much support.
It genuinely seemed to move him and he was so grateful, it was sweet.

So true, but when it gets the official stamp of fiction rather than fact in court proceedings from no less than the US government, then that's a whole new level to the usual talking heads challenging it. Funny, because the odious Alex Jones and others have used the defense of being an actor/fictional character in court proceedings against them, which has been thoroughly challenged by the authorities too as a poor defence. And the irony is that Harry has to sit by helplessly and watch the people defending his right to privacy and a US Visa call him a fantasist in order to protect him.

RoyallyRhubarb · 24/02/2024 10:03

Oh what a tangled web we weave….

Dont forget that Charles remembers being hates (and probably still hates) for “what he did to Diana.” No wonder he is grateful for crumbs of support.

I've always had a soft spot for him, I think he's really interesting and clearly very interested in people, society and the environment. I have no doubt he's felt absolutely hated over the years (not just over Diana). That he's not arrogant enough to assume the public will like him, but surprised by it, makes me think he's got a shyness and humility that belies much of the bad press he's received over the years as being arrogant, grumpy and aloof.
