And the witch burning hysteria too. Better make sure all the familiars are well hidden 😉

I think I’ll have cauliflower cheese tonight - dh is away so a whole one to myself!

I have never been to Westminster Abbey; I would love to go but I’m always put off by the masses of school parties etc outside. What would be the optimum visiting time to avoid the crowds?

So agree it’s like the batshit covid posters. “The whole world’s laughing at us!” Yep. That they are.

I went early morning. When you book tickets it shows how many are left for that slot so gives you a rough idea how busy each session is.

Also for anyone wanting to go who is disabled - both people with disabilities and their carers can go in for free. You can’t book, just go to the gate. They accepted my railcard as proof when I took my DD and meant we could do two short visits on a trip without spending a fortune (she wouldn’t have managed to spend a long time there)

Just popping after the insanity of another thread . Big mistake on my part to go there . I now need a hot shower plus some crackers and cheese .

Good idea. But not all at the same time 😱🙄

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 13/03/2024 12:27

@MaturingCheeseball It was super busy yesterday because it was pissing it down outside and it had been closed for 3 days for the Commonwealth ceremony. However, it still didn't feel uncomfortable in there, very busy but not insanely so or overly noisy. We got there at around 11, went up to the Queen's Gallery exhibition first, had lunch in the cafe (seated straight away and served very quickly) then had the 90 minute tour finishing at 3. Had loads of extra time for pictures and walking around to look at things again, and there's an exhibition about Notre Dame that takes about 20 minutes too. I think it closes at 4.30 for prep for evensong, which you can come back for.

All round cheese fan though I am, you can’t beat mature cheddar and a jacob’s cracker.

Yeah, same. It's getting worse, not better. I'm thinking of taking a break because what with MN allowing these and also some pretty foul ageist comments about 'parents who are old bigots' this place is turning into a toxic swamp.

GrouchyKiwi · 13/03/2024 12:52

A bag full of wild leeks. I'll make a pesto with parmesan etc and we'll have it with roast chicken and baked potatoes. Yum.

That sounds delicious.

Love wild garlic pesto too.

MaturingCheeseball · 13/03/2024 13:22

Thanks for the Westminster Abbey tips: I shall get there soon!

I am surprised at MN - a thread I started about what were posters’ motivations was deleted “because of reports” (I bet I know who…) - yet they are tolerating really hate-driven posts. I wonder how many of these people there actually are. It’s one thing to have a laugh about certain rf members but quite another to wish ill health or worse on a person - a mother of theee young children at that. Quite bewildering.

MrsFinkelstein · 13/03/2024 14:41

This twitter thread is good - debunking the current batshit theory that they used the old Vogue cover shoot to add Catherine's face.

Maybe Justine has sold out to Elon Musk. This site will be rebranded as Xnet.

@MrsDanversGlidesAgain was she Melody Leggett?😂😂

BigWillyLittleTodger · 13/03/2024 18:20

Apparently Kate is dead and has been for sometime, she’s a victim of domestic violence by William, covered in bruises apparently. I’m just waiting for someone to say William has buried her under the patio. These people walk amongst us! I need to not engage.

RoyalIyRhubarb · 13/03/2024 18:25

Not Kate, but who is hiding in this cheeseburger feast?

There was a thread the other day about what it would have been like if social media had existed when Diana died (I think the answer to that is mayhem)

Ditto had the Internet existed while she was alive, I cannot begin to imagine it. I have read some of todays erm "ideas" on here, which is at least moderated and still despair.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 13/03/2024 18:27

Newsweek reporting that an Archewell spokesperson has said they did not criticise Kate over the photoshop incident to Page Six. A bit of arse-covering going on methinks. Both over their own enhanced pictures, and taking part in slagging off another woman and not being good feminists.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 13/03/2024 18:29

@RoyallyRhubarb I'm getting Kermit.

StickyWickets · 13/03/2024 18:53

They'll be a general election soon and all the bots and nut jobs will scurry over to the politics threads. Those 'discussions' make these look positively measured by comparison!
