Maybe Justine has sold out to Elon Musk. This site will be rebranded as Xnet.

At the rate we are going, someone will come along and say Justine IS Elon Musk.

Nah. Kate is double bluffing us and she is really Elon Musk 🤪

edited to remove random extra letter

How do you know she isn't @AliceOlive? Have you ever seen Justine and Elon in the same room?

😂No, perhaps it's Kate! And Ka-lon is currently on the ISS, planning world domination.

AliceOlive · 13/03/2024 19:14

I’m hoping Kate pops over here and runs for President. Save us Kate!

Then Harry could feel proper Royal again.

In a picture but I think it was photoshopped.

Uricon2 · 13/03/2024 19:26

People apparently grow while in space (Scott Kelly put on 2 inches after a year on the ISS) so if she comes back taller/wears lower heels, we'll know.

Uricon2 · 13/03/2024 19:36

"Launched into Outer Space and Around the Globe In 1996, thanks to two Italian astronauts, Parmigiano Reggiano became the first all-natural raw milk cheese to be launched into outer space. Later Parmigiano Reggiano was adopted as an official space food, valued for the bone-strengthening calcium and other nutrients it contributes to astronauts’ diets."

This is from the official Parmesan site. I had no idea.

Me neither, cool little fact!

Can you eat chunks of Parmesan though? Do they grate it on to dehydrated food? How do they eat it without it flying around everywhere 😱😆

It's all the rage these days

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 13/03/2024 21:46

I've been wanting to type this for a day or two, but didn't want to get banned off the thread. I don't really think of Parmesan as proper cheese. I think of it as a flavouring. You wouldn't stick it in a sandwich or have it on a cracker. I wouldn't eat it with fruit as I would most cheese. My thought process was obviously anticipating @Uricon2 's very interesting post, which I am reading whilst watching a documentary on Apollo 11, so space and cheese colliding all over the universe. I'm with @smilesy - don't astronauts have it hard enough without having to eat Parmesan butties?

Yes you can eat chunks! I hack at it with a knife and eat it as a snack. It’s deelish.

I admire your courage and bravery in opening up.

I’m glad you feel this is a safe space 😊

Crying and not in a good way.

RoyalIyRhubarb · 13/03/2024 21:53

It was my teenage son who told me that the end of this cheese grater is sharp so you can use it to cut cheese as well as grate it. How did I not know this???

Thank you. I had to have my emotional support cat with me while I typed that. My DH doesn't know how I really feel about parmesan, and I feel that is could create an irreparable rift between us. I am glad I can discuss it here.

RoberttPostesChild · 13/03/2024 22:55

Hard cheeses are at their best wafer-thin, oh how it enhances the flavours! Yum. I use something called (in my house anyway) the Dutch Cheese Thingy - as below.
Old Amsterdam I think.

RoyalIyRhubarb · 13/03/2024 22:55

Mascarpone isn’t cheese though. It’s thick cream.

RoberttPostesChild · 13/03/2024 23:02

Wafer-thin Parmesan is quite safe on a small slice of pear of apple @Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar ?

GrouchyKiwi · 13/03/2024 23:09

@RoberttPostesChild Norwegians like to pretend that's their invention. As a Person of Dutch Extraction I, of course, side with the Tall People.

Agreed.

And Gorgonzola is very old thick cream.
