Stilton with sautéed mushroom and some RED ONION (yay!) on toast. Delicious!

Cheesy, tomatoey scrambled eggs on my favorite sourdough and a lovely green matcha smoothie for brunch today. Extra mature cheddar. Is there anything to beat it, really?

Yum!

RoyallyRhubarb · 25/02/2024 14:19

Although I do draw a line at cheese in scrambled eggs.

Turtlerussell · 25/02/2024 14:25

I love cheesey eggs!

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 25/02/2024 15:18

@RoyallyRhubarb interesting article thanks. Good to see a woman credited for creating Stilton 💪

You are dead wrong about cheese and eggs, though. They were made to be together, I tell you, the greatest love story ever told!

I have just had toasted Wensleydale cheese ( 2 slices of bread ) with raw red onion on top with cherry tomatoes and some mango chutney. I then had a homemade rhubarb crumble with cream.

AliceOlive · 25/02/2024 21:23

I love cheese in eggs too but I made an omelette today without it. Inspired by @RoyallyRhubarb and it was delicious.

mrsmingleton · 25/02/2024 23:08

It's a 20 min thing pulled from the interviews the journalist did with him when in Whistler. Nothing exciting. More same same. (Yes I get the bit about Hulu)

Turtlerussell · 25/02/2024 23:09

Maybe Netflix is working on something else with him. Maybe there isn’t really that much public interest in it? Even if certain parties insist there is

mrsmingleton · 25/02/2024 23:10

Flogging interviews all around - how much am I bid for this one?

Turtlerussell · 25/02/2024 23:18

Netflix seems to trend more towards miniseries targeting millennials and sensationalist true crime docs. It’s not really known for publicising royals and their humanitarian/pr endeavours. It’s a bit BBC type content really isn’t it?

Maybe Netflix are going to do a Cali Bling type series like their Dubai bling series with them instead? Or a true crime doc focusing on all the recent charity controversies.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 26/02/2024 00:00

What's the purpose of it though? It's a bit of cobbled together guff from interviews he did with ABC post Spare having a go at William/ Catherine/Charles, and the really unremarkable interview he did in Whistler, with a bit tacked on about Invictus. Nothing new, nothing particularly insightful about Invictus. And yet they bothered to put it together and stream it on Hulu. It feels like there's something I'm missing, but I can't put my finger on it.

If it was a promo for Invictus it would make a bit of sense, but chucking all the nasty and negative stuff in about his family doesn't help Invictus in any way. Plus they have a royal correspondent on there saying Invictus is no longer anything to do with the royals anyway, so why tie the two together? I am half wondering if the Royal Foundation will no longer be contributing to the coffers for Invictus, and this is Harry's way of putting it out there that they are doing it out of spite because it means so much to him or something. The particular clip that was chosen from his Spare interview was the bit about his rivalry with William. I would certainly not be putting money into it if I was William, too many rumours of financial mis-management, especially since the 2 head honchos were given the elbow.

Turtlerussell · 26/02/2024 00:21

Has the royal foundation continued to fund it? I thought Harry and Netflix were funding it?

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 26/02/2024 00:32

I'm pretty sure the RF were still contributing up to the IG in Germany last year.

Turtlerussell · 26/02/2024 00:43

Excalibur cheese! Wonderfully epic!

?!
Why is he getting all the praise? And why can’t he put his money where his mouth is? So the RF were paying to run it, he uses it to boost his profile and look kind, and as subject matter to sell to a media outlet, and Netflix pay him to film it? isn’t that very much using his position to make money

I thought he was funding the whole thing - otherwise how else can he justify being that visual over the whole thing

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 26/02/2024 01:05

IG is funded by corporate sponsors and donations. Boeing was a former sponsor and Jaguar Landrover. They also get cash from host countries. Canada has given £30m for these winter games. The Royal Foundation donated £1.11 in 2020 for the delayed Invictus Games held in 2022. Will check tomorrow about Germany, need to sleep.

mrsmingleton · 26/02/2024 09:22

@Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar yes - putting in that bit about the rivalry he had/has with William. It really is so juvenile.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 26/02/2024 09:55

Juvenile, but also quite pointed. Coupled with his quasi royal visits in Jamaica and Canadian First Nations, it really feels like he’s trying to show off that he’s a better statesman than William - when basically he’s a loose cannon with none of the responsibilities of his brother and the freedom to say what he wants with no come back. Which wouldn’t be a problem if he was a private citizen only and wasn’t cos playing royalty, which he most certainly is. It is all very Edward v George.

Also, perhaps ABC News need to remind themselves that their beloved Biden Administration thinks that Harry is a fantasist, and are prepared to argue as such under oath in a court of law. He’s not worth their fawning admiration, but I imagine they have been promised further exclusive access for these puff pieces.

What happened to their statement last year that they were done talking about the RF? Maybe all that meant was that they are happy for others to rehash it for them - Scobie, ABC. Pretty low to sanction pointed animus at your brother, when he’s got the double whammy of being on the front line of dealing with both his father’s illness and his wife’s recovery. But then that’s Harry. Pretty low.

mrsmingleton · 26/02/2024 09:59

It is indeed @Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar.
