So Harry flew for 11 hours and then spoke to his father for 45 minutes ? Charles then bobbed to Sandringham by helicopter and Harry checked into a hotel. I mean wouldn't you think Harry would have gone to Sandringham with Charles maybe ?

I am not a fan of Harry, but this visit makes sense.

It would appear that Charles hasn't started chemo yet so this is the exact right time for a face to face visit. Once he starts chemo, Harry (and everyone else) needs to stay away as his immune system will be nil.

My FIL came for a 1 hour visit, driving 3 hours there and back when ds was born. We were in hospital so he couldn't stay for long. He started chemo 2 days later. I would have preferred to have a lovely long visit with him in my own home, but it wasn't the right time.

Harry looking for a scoop on what KC cancer actually is?

Nailed it.
If Harry gave a shiny shit about his dad, he would have already pre-planned to visit his father due to his well-publicised operation before the cancer was announced.
Proper grief tourism going on here.

AutumnCrow · 07/02/2024 10:24

It's not just chemo that lowers the immune system. Cancer itself, and radiotherapy, and some medications, can weaken the immune system.

Viviennemary · 07/02/2024 10:25

Harry caused this. He needs to deal with the consequences.

I mean I don't know how ill the King Is but surely it would have been sensible to maybe video call his dad in private all this speeding/dashing/dropping everything to fly over is a bit dramatic!

Maybe they did and both agreed he should fly over to see his dad

It’s not like he has a job or issues with childcare to consider.

Doubleshot - but yours is the first mention of Meghan on this thread. Where is there any Meghan bashing prior to your post?

So do we think someone leaked that Harry was going over so that he could be spotted at LAX & Heathrow?

There are probably paps at Royal residences so he might not have been able to arrive completely unnoticed.

Would anyone have been looking everyday to see if he had been or not?

Would the headlines have been "Still no sign of Harry"?

There are always papparazi at LAX airport. They often photograph actors arriving and departing. and I imagine that some people who work there would sell the information of who’s waiting for a plane. I’ve seen no photos of him at the airport. So someone waiting to fly may have tweeted out that they just saw Harry, or an LAX employee may have sold the info. By the time he was in the air, the media knew he was on his way.

I know one thing. I just checked Omid Scobie’s Twitter and he didn’t tweet that particular info.

CurlewKate · 07/02/2024 10:31

@Viviennemary "Harry caused this. He needs to deal with the consequences."

You what now??

LakeTiticaca · 07/02/2024 10:33

Never has the phrase "you reap what you sow" seemed so apt

He didn’t rush to Balmoral to see the late Queen when she was clearly very elderly and frail.

Yes - he was in fact notable by his absence from Balmoral before the Queen’s final day, despite planning a trip to the UK and Europe to undertake engagements for Invictus and Well Child.

When did he arrive in the UK for the WellChild awards? Did Harry plan to visit the late Queen after the awards?

If he was really genuine he could have issued a statement and said “my dad is not a racist “

Not created a drama mercy flight and brought a bag of germs with him

It says it all

Maybe. it just seemed rather madash! and over dramatic.

It’s laughable how many of you think that Harry is making this all about himself when no one has seen William in weeks. He’s acting so guilty, hiding away acting like his days are spent doing the school run.

CathyorClaire · 07/02/2024 10:48

It's been an expensive jaunt for a 30/45 minute meeting especially if it's in the name of PR.

Two last minute tickets, a hotel stay and a two car police escort.

I hope Harold's the one digging deep given his willingness to pay for his own police security in the UK.

ForTonightGodisaDJ · 07/02/2024 10:49

Serenster · 07/02/2024 10:55

When did he arrive in the UK for the WellChild awards? Did Harry plan to visit the late Queen after the awards?

Their itinerary was
4 September - arrived in the UK
5 September -Manchester, One Young World Summit
6 September - Düsseldorf Germany, Invictus Event
8 September - London, Well Child awards

No trip to Balmoral was announced. Bear in mind this also all happened just days after Meghan's interview in The Cut was published, in which Meghan said it would take a lot of effort to forgive what happened to her, and that she hadn’t signed an NDA and could “say anything”. So, being conciliatory does not seem to have been their agenda at that time.

QEII died on the 8th.

Guilty of what?

he’s out doing am investiture this morning, was last seen visiting his wife a couple of weeks ago. She’s now home, and he’s been at home with her and the kids, and doing the work he can from home, before resuming public duties today.

defiant2024 · 07/02/2024 11:05

Harry's realised he fucked up - royally - and is hoping for a chance to get his feet under the table again. Considering he's a blabbermouth gossip merchant and proven liar none of them will want to be left alone with him, who knows what crap he'll fabricate, considering he's milked his pool of self pity dry.

Indeed

I don't think he's headed back to LA yet though (?) so can't know that the "45 minutes" is all there'll be. Perhaps they've arranged to meet up again or maybe they haven't, but doubtless we'll hear it all from Scobie in due course

portocristo · 07/02/2024 11:07

Not sure why KC had to rush back to Sandringham? Surely he could have stayed at Clarence House especially as its said he was tired, im sure it's not too shabby or even at Buckingham Palace, I mean who is even living there now ? Harry could have then stayed with him overnight at least and had breakfast together.

Janetime · 07/02/2024 11:07

I’m guessing there won’t be quite so much fanfare when he slinks home again,

Ahead · 07/02/2024 11:07

HRH phoned both his sons personally, Bucks palace said so the papers said. Harry went straight from a 10 hour overnight flight the papers said so and they should know they stood outside for hours waiting. HRHs waited for Harry before then leaving by helicopter (the papers said) so they could spend time in their other house in the countryside the papers said and printed pics. The papers (one paper even stated the arrival and departure times! ) said they spent 45/30 minutes together depending on which paper you read and that HRHs looked happy afterwards. Times like this makes me glad to be a person of no concern.
