Stepping back for now from royal duties. Guess William and the others will have to step up. Treatment has been started today.

Quite a shock for anyone to get that diagnosis.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer for men and many don't know they have it - may not be thay type of course Not prostate.

Wonder if he will completely step down at some point?

Wendysfriend · 05/02/2024 18:04

Just watching it on the news, god love him. Hope he's ok

Puzzledandpissedoff · 05/02/2024 18:04

Yes, I just posted this on "Charles's prostate" - though according to the BBC that part's not involved

No further news so far, but guess William just edged a little closer to the throne

GuinnessBird · 05/02/2024 18:05

Well I had a suspicion it might be prostate cancer but obviously not.

CormorantStrikesBack · 05/02/2024 18:05

Doesn’t say what the treatment is but whether it’s chemotherapy or radiotherapy it will be tough I guess..

Oh gosh, there's a real human side to this news isn't there? 😞

GuinnessBird · 05/02/2024 18:05

Well I had a suspicion it might be prostate cancer but obviously not.

It was the obvious thing to think really, and anyway I doubt they'll disclose all the details
Like Kate his medical records are rightly private

CoffeeCantata · 05/02/2024 18:07

Apparently not prostate. I do hope he has many useful years ahead.

Some pretty nasty posts about Charles on another thread today so I hope people who have mean personal things to say about him will have the decency to shut up about this and not rub their hands together gleefully.

(I'm not talking about just having republican views - I mean the spiteful posters who make it a personal vendetta.)

Neverpostagain · 05/02/2024 18:08

Yup definitely not prostate. Wishing him well.

Willmafrockfit · 05/02/2024 18:08

poor william and kate

RememberingItAll · 05/02/2024 18:08

I hope he’s ok and can back to work if he gets well. We really don’t need William as King.

Doseofreality · 05/02/2024 18:09

Didn’t Nostradamus predict this (and also predicted there will be King Harry)!

frecklejuice · 05/02/2024 18:10

Just said on the news that it isn't prostate cancer. Very sad news.

Really ??

GuinnessBird · 05/02/2024 18:10

Willmafrockfit · 05/02/2024 18:08

poor william and kate

And Harry and Meghan.

CormorantStrikesBack · 05/02/2024 18:11

BBC are talking about the counsellors of State who are meant to step up if the king is unwell and it’s the 4 adults next in line , which sadly includes Harry and Andrew!

poor william and kate

William and Kate?
surely you mean William and Harry, after all he is their father not Kate’s

RememberingItAll · 05/02/2024 18:11

King Harry and Queen Meghan, can you imagine? Bring it on.

CormorantStrikesBack · 05/02/2024 18:12

My heart did stop and I thought they were going to announce his death! My tv screen isn’t working, only sound so I couldn’t see if the news person was wearing black!

OP posts:
Belindabelle · 05/02/2024 18:12

William and Camilla are going to be very busy with the King and Kate indisposed.

BirthdayRainbow · 05/02/2024 18:13

My son just messaged to tell me. Such a shock. Poor William.

CormorantStrikesBack · 05/02/2024 18:13

I wonder if Harry will visit, it would be nice if relations could be repaired and sometimes such an event can focus people on that.

I think that would make a lot more of the public into republicans!

They’ve already dealt with that when they added Anne and Edward and said they’ll only use working royals as CoS. They’ll be fine with those two and William.
