Are we allowed to say on here? My DH just listened to piers podcast.

Choux · 29/11/2023 22:07

Yes tell us

BeigeChair · 29/11/2023 22:07

King Charles and Princess Catherine

garlicandsapphires · 29/11/2023 22:08

Charles and Kate supposedly

User5442525 · 29/11/2023 22:10

It's Charles and Kate!!! Quick Twitter search reveals that.
Quite unexpected...always thought the second one could have been Prince Philipp or a more minor Royal.

There is literally no going back for M&H now. Basically told the world that the current King and future Queen of England are racists. It seems to imply that Charles made the comment about skin colour. I really wonder what Kate did or said that was racist, or perceived to be racist by Meghan. It would be a stretch to assume she used slurs, as that would have been insinuated a long time ago on some TV interview.

Lilybetsey · 29/11/2023 22:10

Just watched PM naming them ...

Choux · 29/11/2023 22:11

Thanks for saving me a Google.

Not sure how big a deal that is. Context is everything. If it was the only comment that's very different to saying ' I wonder if he'll have red hair like H or dark hair like M? I wonder if he'll be pasty like H or darker skinned like M?' Or were the exact words published?

Lilybetsey · 29/11/2023 22:12

I just wonder how those names got into the Dutch book when Mr Honesty Scobie denies inserting them !

AgathaX · 29/11/2023 22:12

As has been said, context is everything.

flowerchild2000 · 29/11/2023 22:12

Helloooo they are all racist. Everyone knows that!

AgathaX · 29/11/2023 22:13

How do you know that? Do you know them personally?

albapunk · 29/11/2023 22:13

I wish we had context for the actual discussion that happened.

My cousin has mixed race children. It was a running thing in the family (on all sides) as to what the children would look like when they were born and who's skin tone and features they would inherit. They were first grandkids for the dads family, who are not Caucasian. There was absolutely nothing racist about these chats or comments.

caringcarer · 29/11/2023 22:14

I don't believe either King Charles or Princess Catherine are racists. I think Meghan hated Princess Catherine so much she'd say anything to get her discredited if she could.

Mischance · 29/11/2023 22:15

I wonder what was actually said?

PuttingDownRoots · 29/11/2023 22:16

Since M & K don't get on... is it because K is racist or did the not getting on cause M to perceive K as racist?

Rodelansier · 29/11/2023 22:17

Why are some things known/published abroad but censored in the UK?
It doesn't work. What's the thinking behind it?

LolaSmiles · 29/11/2023 22:17

I agree with this.Context is key.

It's fairly common in most couples and families to discuss what potential children will look like.

What would be very helpful is if instead of snippets here and there it was clear who said what and what the context was, instead of vague drips that allow people to create their own stories.

Time4the · 29/11/2023 22:19

I think Meghan is so insanely jealous of Kate she’d say anything.

wordler · 29/11/2023 22:19

Mischance · 29/11/2023 22:15

I wonder what was actually said?

I wonder what was said in the original conversation.

I wonder who repeated it to Harry (who wasn't there apparently) and how they repeated it (tone, context etc.)

I wonder how Harry then repeated the story to Meghan.

I wonder why Meghan mistakenly turned one conversation into multiple conversations about her baby's race and how she misunderstood that to affect her child's title and security options.

DH and I often talked about what our mixed race children might look like when I was pregnant.

My family too, it’s said with excitement.

HeddaGarbled · 29/11/2023 22:22

Harry said not racist. Wonder if he knew his wife blabbed (obviously, he does now).

Choux · 29/11/2023 22:22

Here's how they themselves describe their children's appearances:
