Some of it is so extremely personal.

I am so bored with these two whining, privileged, entitled people who are trying to fuel controversy so they can make more money out of their grubby books...

They wanted to live their own life abroad away from the royal family and they achieve that.

They have youth, good health, lovely kids and money and yet here they are endlessly complaining about everything...

I really don't understand why they don't just count their blessings and get on with enjoying their life.

It just looks like they are desperate for revenge and want to drag the whole family down to stay relevant. So much for claiming the wanted a quiet life out of the spotlights.

She only admitted it after the private secretary came forward as a witness. So she was shown to be a liar in court claiming she had forgotten.

I think that's going a bit far. The book isn't full of hate - though I can see full well how there could be an interpretation that it does all indeed stem from grudges that have turned into a kind of hate over time.

The made up stuff has however been a theme of many newspaper articles about this one. This author's levels of accuracy are no better than those shown by the people he writes about in interviews and Harry's book.

Most of the other thread is repeating the lukewarm or negative reviews, though the scope for mistranslation and the naming of the royal "racists" is the main theme this morning

There’s a couple I’m friends with - one white, one black. When all this was first in the news, they both said how ridiculous it was, if the only problem was speculating about the potential skin colour of a baby. They said that within both of their families when she was pregnant (x4), there was always discussion about what skin colour (light/dark) the baby might be. Not with any preference expressed, but just as you might discuss the possibility of brown, red or blond hair/blue or brown eyes/freckles etc. She talks freely about how all of her kids are different shades of brown. Is discussion of how genetics might play out considered racist? It’s normal to be interested in what characteristics your children or grandchildren might have, isn’t it?
I think there’s probably still a huge cultural divide between the US and Britain (the aristocracy especially) which could lead to misunderstanding and a perception of rudeness/hostility on both sides concerning the impact of comments which may be made with no ill intent at all.

I don't think King Charles is racist. He welcomed Meghan in his family, agreed to a huge wedding, bought Meghan expensive jewelry and also walked Meghan down the aisle. I think it's normal to wonder about characteristics of an unborn baby especially when parents have different options. I remember wondering what colour eyes my own babies would have. Skin colour is no different to this.

Everyone is assuming that the comments were racist. But it's natural to speculate on what the children will look like and even if Meghan had been blonde and blue-eyed, there would still have been speculation because he is a redhead, which in my experience always gets people wondering who the children will take after.

As for Scobie's book, I have no intention of reading it but it's just gossip and tittle tattle, just like all the royal books. I know the Meghan hate brigade are very wedded to this conspiracy theory that he and Meghan are best friends just because they're both biracial and he's the only one not sticking to the anti-Meghan party line, but he's always said he doesn't know her and barely met her, I don't see any evidence to support this theory that everyone who criticises the royals are all part of some conspiracy by non-white people to lie and try to bring down the crown. Gossip mongerers get their gossip from all sorts of places or they make it up.

That was Jason Knauf, the person William planted in Meghan's home to spy on her, who invented all kinds of nasty lies and leaked horrible things about her to the press the entire time he was supposedly working for her. He sent private info about the royals to the press, broke his NDA, leaked like crazy. He was the one who filed a complaint about Meghan for bullying without the permission of those she allegedly bullied (those she allegedly bullied asked him to rescind the complaints, and they were clearly baseless and made up) then emailed the press to tip them off about the complaint he'd just invented. He was also Thomas Markle's press handler and look how badly he fucked that up. He hired his best friend for a prestigious job when she'd only worked as a nanny before, and then when she was fired for gross misconduct she immediately landed a job as live-in nanny to a millionaire Tory whose sister is a Daily Mail journalist.

Then William showered him with rewards and accolades, even making him CEO of the Cambridge Foundation despite him having no experience.

It's obvious that everything Knauf did to undermine and leak nasty shit to try to destroy Meghan was on William's orders. Vile men, both of them.

Compared to "I hope the baby's red like you and not dark like Megan". Similar words but mean very different things. Obviously I'm completely making up the comments. Just an example of how things can be said
