What surreptitious timing, Thomas Markle has been wheeled out again, let's hear what he has to say.

I get what you mean @colourwheelofortune .

As do I, and completely agree with her.

EnoughIsay · 23/09/2023 02:47

Roussette · 22/09/2023 20:26

I've also never seen anyone defend her fathers actions and behaviours

You must be a new poster then. I've seen it endlessly over years

Me too.

Shamless defense of the indefensible.

The sister too gets defended.

No matter what you think of MM - it is very clear that her family are nasty, and sell her for money.

The posters who defend them reveal a lot about themsleves though.

EnoughIsay · 23/09/2023 02:51

@colourwheelofortune do you spend this much time and effort on everything your find boring?

skullbabe · 23/09/2023 08:26

So the outfits thing really bothers me so I thought I would have a look
Flying out: One outfit to fly to Germany and one outfit when she arrived in Germany and went to the evening party
Day one for her on the games wore shorts, tank top and jacket combo morning – afternoon changed into jeans, kept the tank and changed the jacket
Day two wore stripy top, white tank and white jeans to watch volleyball, changed into formal beige silky top and trousers to meet NATO reps, went out to dinner for her husband’s birthday and wore a stripy shirt with the white jeans from earlier in the day (Harry also change three times but rewore one top twice)
Day three wore jump shorts suit and white jacket form day one, attended a reception and wore a black dress, returned to the afternoon games and wore a blue dress (Harry also changed three times)
Day 4 wore long line jacket, white body and cream trousers and green dress at the closing ceremony
The only time she could have reworn a morning outfit was on Day one in the afternoon – but the change was not one that many of us have would not have done in the afternoon/evening – switching shorts to jeans and changing a lightweight jacket for a heavier one or a hoodie or a jumper and Day three – the blue dress – but again if we go with the theme that you go warmer towards the end of the day her change makes sense. It’s just something to criticize her for because you could hardly have expected her to attend the receptions wearing what she was wearing at the games and vice versa. It’s just odd.

Roussette · 23/09/2023 08:40

Very odd indeed. Apparently she should've worn a black polo and trackie bottoms the whole time
How dare she draw attention to herself by wearing actual clothes that aren't that!

I can sort of understand the odd criticism here and there about stuff (whilst not necessarily agreeing) but this one is desperate

There are a few issues with the criticism for me. The practical reasons you state of course. Also, I had no idea how many outfits she had worn nor do I care to scrutinise women in this way, but somehow people that can't stand her and think she should live in hiding know exactly how many outfits she wore and appear to think its' too much'. Why is it anyones concern what she wears now she pays for it herself? She is not unlike many famous women so why is it just this women who has to be critiqued over how many outfits she wears? Why aren't the same posters counting William or Kates new outfits? We pay for those. Its all once again another example of the way Meghan is held to a standard nobody else is, and there are only a few reasons to explain it.

Daisyislazy · 22/09/2023 17:23

I'm beginning to find it exhausting. Cheers 🍷

Right back at you both.

Has the HUGE industry of scrutinising, blogging about and commenting women in the public eye’s (celebrities and royals) clothing and fashion choices passed you by entirely? That seems odd, since it’s so prevalent.

Independent fashion commentators, not just random posters on MN, have commented that Meghan’s clothing on the Invictus tour was continuously providing us with new fashion moments to maintain the hype around her appearance. Even Meghan-supporting fashion bloggers like Elizabeth Holmes said that she found the constant change of outfits in Düsseldorf surprising. She compared it to a Royal tour, when it clearly wasn’t - Meghan was attending as the wife of the patron (I note Camilla has just been on a three day State visit to France, including more than 20 engagements and wore five outfits, with two repeats in that number - just for those who say no one else’s clothes get scrutinised - that is definitely not so).

Enough with the attempt at a smear too. Not to mention Roussette acting like my mother (🤣) I have zero interested in your childish attempts to silence my point of view.

Samcro · 23/09/2023 10:15

its funny that she is called boring. if she is so boring why does every royal thread end up talking about her. why do posters who find her boring/want her to go away, still search the internet to find stuff to say about her.
then she isn't seen for a while and we have where is meghan threads. she doesn't go with harry to something, where is meghan?, she goes why is Meghan there?

You can speak out all you like with your 'view' and I can disagree as much as I want. That is not a 'smear', I was surprised at your post, it wasn't like you, but don't worry about it, your research on what people think about Meghan's outfits have helped your view.

She wore clothes. That's it really. I'm pleased that I'm acting like your mother whilst being childish at the same time, there's hope for me not sliding into total senility just yet! 😅

Mylovelygreendress · 23/09/2023 10:27

Slight derail but I do like the coat Meghan has just been pictured wearing . I don’t often like her clothes but I do like that .

Serenster · 23/09/2023 10:33

Me too, Mylovelygreendress - come and join the S&B crowd where we discuss what all the Royals wear…

It's lovely

LadyMuckingabout · 23/09/2023 11:52

Like everyone, Meghan’s outfits are hit and miss. Given that she is a celebrity, I think it’s ok to criticise as well as praise. I really liked that black Banana Republic dress she wore. The brown top and trousers - ugh. As my friend said when I turned up sporting a brown cashmere sweater, camel skirt, chestnut boots and bag, “Why are you dressed as a turd?!” (Everyone needs a friend! Or mean teen dd!)

skullbabe · 23/09/2023 11:59

Elizabeth Holmes said that she found the constant change of outfits in Düsseldorf surprising

Her husband changed almost as many times and yet……..nary a comment on him.

Roussette · 23/09/2023 12:20

I have no idea who Elizabeth Holmes is and can only think Theranos!

Gothambutnotahamster · 23/09/2023 17:36

Me too @Roussette Grin

Before making untrue, goading and PA attacks on me, I would like to point out I don't post very often, I have limited time in the day and why does it bother you what I post?
Moving on...
I also don't much care how many outfits Meghan wore or whether she wanted to make it a fashion show. Probably made it more interesting I guess, but the figure I heard was $45K in clothing, so its a fair comment to make that to wear such expensive clothing to an event where most people will struggle financial, is a bit tone deaf.

Personally I find her acting boring. Very one dimensional. Her clothing, meh. I don't comment on women's physical appearance or their children. I am very bored with the constant staged pap shots and sick of the british media printing stories of meghan in a car park, doing nothing, in a market, buying flowers, in a drive through buying food. Newsworthy no, boring yes. Her podcasts, boring. The Bench, boring. Of course I am interested when she does things (in a car crash kind of way) of interest...see, the 'near catastrophic car crash.. ultimately boring as it was a non story.

The only reason every thread turns to meghan and harry, or a royal family bashing, is their fans feel compelled to bring these subjects on to them. Not to mention fans starting threads such as this one, or the fake news NY major cancels on william, one. The Earthshot threads tried to stay on track, but it rapidly went into the RF bashing mode, with transport used to trump the actual prize. When Sussex fans start bashing the RF it inevitably provokes some H&M pushback.

skullbabe · 23/09/2023 20:11

but the figure I heard was $45K in clothing

It’s interesting in this figure people count jewellery, shoes and bags that she has worn before. By my estimates her clothing was worth about £8000 but anything to bash her with. Harry’s wardrobe - his suits are designer - would probably cost just as much but no one talks about how tone deaf he is.

Roussette · 23/09/2023 21:46

*The Earthshot threads tried to stay on track, but it rapidly went into the RF bashing mode

No different to the constant H&M bashing of Invictus!

Touché
