Maybe not on this thread but in the past there's been a lot of support for Thomas Markle and Samantha Grant (mainly from the same types who spread conspiracy theories about Doria having been in prison) here over the years.
There have been tons of threads and posts over the years trying to portray Thomas Markle as a poor old man who did nothing wrong except be naïve and let someone exploit him into posing for some staged photos. Lots of comments about how mean Meghan is for turning her back on a poor elderly man with health problems.
Which isn't even true since Thomas was the one who ghosted his daughter when she stopped funding him, not the other way round.
I once posted a Telegraph article that claimed (with evidence) that Thomas Markle had faked his heart attack and surgery, and within the space of less than half an hour (and this was very late at night when you wouldn't expect many people to be online) FIVE brand new usernames popped up just screaming the most deranged abuse, calling me a "lying shit for brains cunt", literally five different usernames all posting "I am a longtime lurker but I was moved by that evil lying cunt LittleDuck's vile abusive attack on poor Thomas Markle to register an account just to express what a hideous cunt she is". Within minutes there were three full pages of different usernames just screeching abuse and screaming YOU'RE A CUNT YOU'RE A CUNT YOU'RE A CUNT CUNT CUNT CUNT CUNT over and over again. All because I mildly criticised Thomas Markle. I'm personally convinced it was Samantha Grant posting under all those different usernames, because she has a history of obsessive and abusive online behaviour and of using lots of different accounts to sockpuppet.
That's the thing that always gets overlooked, the tiny minority of really dangerously obsessed anti-Meghan posters who are abusive and use large numbers of sockpuppets. I once created a light hearted thread to share a podcast from a young woman who'd worked with Meghan at a charity and said a lot of very nice things about Meghan, I was very insomniacal and working night shifts so happened to start the thread at 2am, and within minutes there were at least 20 separate usernames tearing me to shreds, hurling abuse, belittling me, calling the podcaster girl a liar, belittling her career, just the most extreme nastiness and abuse, for NOTHING. Just because some psycho couldn't tolerate the fact one single person said Meghan was nice. Who even cares?? And I don't believe for a second there were actually 20 different posters online at 2am who all reacted with the same astounding level of extreme aggression and abuse just at someone saying "I met Meghan once and she was nice." That's not a normal reaction to have.
And there has been a lot of support for Samantha Grant here, definitely a lot of comments from posters who clearly took the Markles' side and had sympathy for them, and were against Harry and Meghan. Lots of "I don't support Samantha Grant but..." type comments. Comments minimising their actions, or claiming Thomas Markle didn't do anything except let himself be photographed, or that Samantha Grant didn't do anything except give interviews.
Lots and lots of comments putting the blame (for the NC) entirely on Meghan or making goady comments about Meghan being estranged from all her family and friends, which clearly isn't true to begin with (remember during the wedding, how obsessively certain posters pushed the lie that Meghan didn't have a single friend at her wedding, then someone found a list of like a dozen old school/uni friends who were there?), and basically acts like Meghan going nc with one side of her family is a red flag, while not holding the other Markles to the same standard. Both Thomas and Samantha are estranged from their whole entire families (whereas Meghan always had a close relationship with her maternal side) and Samantha was found guilty of child abuse and had her own daughter accuse her of being a child abuser. Yet anti-Meghan posters always minimise that and act like it didn't happen.
