I disagree
like him but not the hypocrisy
rich people off setting their travel, ra than thinking of ways not to fly so much.
doubt I’m alone

Apart from the liking him bit I agree.

Rich people jetting around while having the gall to lecture the rest of us at glitzy, other side of the globe dos on how we're killing the planet sticks in the craw.

I don't even suppose Willy's the one washing up his rubbish to be shipped off to some other unfortunate country's stinking rubbish dumps recycling as a basic tenet either.

LastHives · 08/11/2023 20:29

It's childish to think that William would contribute more by washing his recycling and sitting at home than doing what he does do. He has a position and is using it for better ends.

He does do an awful lot of sitting at home though.

The royal 'better ends' are very often a replication of existing charitable work. Makes them look relevant and worthwhile.

It’s even more childish to bring Harry up when the thread is about Williams project.
did Harry fly to Singapore?

LastHives · 09/11/2023 04:57

@Samcro no , Harry flew a much shorter distance from California into Nevada which could have been driven for a concert . Harry did fly to Japan and Singapore for an event recently which makes sense though.

Samcro · 09/11/2023 07:45

my mistake. I didn't realise Harry was involved in Earthshot

Haven't you heard? The arrogant and out of touch Prince thinks he's going to achieve more than anybody in his family ever has! Sitting at home! Ending homelessness, the middle east crisis and climate change all from the sofa! Building houses, educating people and providing employment! Sounds like a political career launch!

"That's what I'm trying to find my way in, is I care about so many things, and previously the family have been very much spotlighting brilliantly and going round and highlighting lots - I want to go a step further - I want to actually bring change and I want to bring people to the table who can do the change if I can't do it.
"And so it's all about progressing, helping and advancing particular social causes that need to be given more support.
"I've been in the homelessness sector for a long time now, and so rather than just being patron I want to do more, I want to actually build the homes, I want to provide them with the mental support, all the employment and the education they might need."
He added: "So it's all these wraparound services, it's kind of going deeper and longer, than it is the case of just having loads of causes that you sort of turn up and keep an eye on.
"It's more about: how do I show my intent more? How do we do more for you? And give you a better, better future.
"But you have to remain focused, if you spread yourself too thin you just can't manage it and you won't deliver the impact or the change that you really want to happen."

did Harry fly to Singapore?

Yes he did. To play polo.

Mylovelygreendress · 09/11/2023 12:43

The posters who say that William sits around at home , how do you know this ? Do you work with him ? Are you friends ?

Roussette · 09/11/2023 13:12

The Court Circular is a start where even a phone call is logged as 'a meeting'

themessygarden · 09/11/2023 13:23

Work phone calls are meetings. the worst kind in my view, and don't get me started on phone calls or zoom meetings when in different time zones.

Lots of people work from home, it's an outdated view to think that if someone is working from home they are just 'sitting around' having a great old time..

Iwantcakeeveryday · 09/11/2023 13:40

I want to actually bring change

Seems as though William agrees the royal family have not brought change or done anything much up until now except ' spotlighting brilliantly and going round and highlighting lots'. Thats an awful lot of taxpayer money to just 'go round highlighting lots'. People do that kind of charity awareness in their own free time, it's not something we should be paying for.

Being fifth on the duty worksheet is a bit of a clue.

And as Roussette says the Court Circular provides another insight.

Mylovelygreendress · 09/11/2023 16:15

It still doesn’t mean he is sitting around at home !

Iwantcakeeveryday · 09/11/2023 16:16

No he's out joyriding in his helicopter!

CathyorClaire · 09/11/2023 16:17

Or on holiday!

Iwantcakeeveryday · 09/11/2023 16:19

I guess he could be in the Middle East sorting all that out as it's his 'life mission' but just not telling us....

CathyorClaire · 09/11/2023 16:24

Or maybe he's going barefists with Suella Braverman...

Samcro · 09/11/2023 17:07

If only

When did he say his life’s mission was sorting out the Middle East?

It’s one of the many untrue statements that gets rolled out frequently on here 🥱
