Impressive line up of guests and speakers at the upcoming Earthshot Prize event.

This is a serious initiative, of which Prince William is a figurehead - it's a bit absurd to quibble about him attending given the attention his presence will generate for the cause.

AFAIK criticisms of Harry centered on him specifically highlighting the climate impact of recreational travel in the context of his Travelyst business whilst personally jetting around on private planes.

As a founder and president William needs to be there to present the prize awards.

It’s not as if he were taking a private jet to a Katy Perry concert

Oh, I’m critical of H&M using private jets. As well as the frequent, high fuel emissions travel done by the other RF members, celebrities and rich people. They can all afford to piss off somewhere far away and safe, when fires, floods & other extreme weather events occur.

@Medlady yes a plane trip instead of a road trip that could have been easily made.

Or yes his frequent use of helicopters between homes or around the UK, or private jets.

As I usually say I can post my thoughts as I wish. I also don't care about Harry and Meghan's plane trips either. They're people with security risks and safer in a plane.

I agree. I think so too, as is Charles, and it's fair to fairly criticise/discuss it especially when he has this scheme, in the same way Harry as several others pointed out before me. So I'm not sure why I'm the only one who received the ruuuuuuuuuuuuude reply.

I like William also, and actually the things I’ve criticised William for have also been the same things I’ve criticised Harry for. They are very different people, but in some things they are a lot the same. Just like many siblings.

I'm just waiting to see if the past two years donations have managed to both wipe out the massive set-up expenses of the first year (costs £12m. Prizes £5m) and turn a profit reserve fund this time round.

I have to say I like William too. He is emotionally intelligent and caring like his dm but calm and cautious like his dgm. I think he's naturally shy and has worked hard to overcome it as he understands he has a public role to fulfill. He seems to have a good sense of humour too. I love how he interacts with people, especially children.

I'm not a fan of his personally but there are some cool environmental initiatives being highlighted so that's great.
