What does doors to manual mean?

When the pilot starts to land he sends out a message to the cabin crew “doors to manual” which means the crew press the lever who can switches off the automated lock (that stops passengers opening the doors mid flight). The crew can then manually open the doors once the plane has landed.

I'm interested in what drives the obsession of distant unrelated people to the degree they spend their time arguing online about their lives, is that too difficult to comprehend?

I suggest you ask yourself. You are the one "obsessed". I am mildly interested and join in several discussions - on, you know, a forum for discussion..

Ok 👍🏼

This is a UK site but people all over the world post on here.

I come from a very multicultural country where it is considered rude to correct the grammar of someone you don’t know, unasked.

I know. I'm sorry. I hear and see the English language getting such a battering from all sorts of places and it gets me down sometimes.

Aren't most aristos country bumpkins at heart?
I'm very proud of being a bumpkin. (I'm not an aristo though, so maybe a forelock doffing bumpkin is okay?)

Hence all the socking great country estates they live in.

HM The Queen (deceased) and our current King fit the description perfectly with their dogs, horses, hunting, shooting, fishing and hedge laying.

The journalist is a townie stirrer talking rot.

I always through the three of them had a good relationship, the dynamics would certainly have changed once W&K married abs settled down, but it seemed to work. It also started out seemingly well with the addition of MM but that quickly went south

So he should've been happy being a third wheel? I doubt anyone would be happy with that dynamic long term.

ILikeDinosaurs · 01/08/2023 12:06

Harry has to be happy for them and want nothing for himself. They were not obligated to be happy for him. It's all about the king.

He seemed happy to be a member of what journalists called "The Fab Four". It may be that when Meghan realised that in the RF your position/status is fixed. No matter how successful & loved you are you are never going to climb up the ranks.

polkadotdalmation · 01/08/2023 18:12

Harry is as entitled as anyone to criticise Williams in laws. As long as William and the Middletons are happy with how things are between them, and William has a close relationship with his second family (as so many of us do with our in laws) I don't think any of them will give a flying fuck.

We all know Harry is jealous of William (also as so many siblings are) and the past few years have been a continuing round of digs at Kate and william, so really, who cares what an increasingly irrelevant man says?

No, but seems like some people here can't stand the fact that some people hold different opinions to their own.

Nobody minds different opinions.

It's when those opinions are presented as 'facts' that eyebrows are raised.

Basically it is this:

I state the facts, you voice your opinions, they blurt out their wild assumptions.

😉😂

polkadotdalmation · 01/08/2023 20:32

In my opinion Harry is jealous as he doesn't get to spend time with Meghans wider family and he doesn't get to spend time with his own family. Doria seems perfectly nice, but not having family get togethers must feel quite lonely. Maybe he's happy in such a small circle, maybe not. 🤷🏻‍♀️.

You do realise he hasn't actually said anything, all the quotes and criticisms in the article are from someone with no connection to him?

Honestly, I could write an article speculating that Kate probably thinks Meghan is a shithead, title it "Kate Middleton: "Meghan is a doo-doo head!"" and generate no end of headlines and comments from people too dim to realise that Kate did not actually give a direct quote calling Meghan a doo-doo head.

Many, many people have no extended family, many have difficult relatives they choose not to associate with or live on the other side of the globe from them. It's not the end of the world and not all in-laws are easy to get on with. Harry's got loyal friends who've stuck by him. I actually think William is jealous of Harry, he's forged his own path while W is stuck on one that's set out for him, trying to find things to do to appear relevant to the world. I'd hate not having freedom over my own life.

William jealous of Harry? 😂😂😂😂

polkadotdalmation · 01/08/2023 21:32

William is usually grinning ear to ear and Harry looks like a bulldog chewing a wasp. 🤣

21ZIGGY · 01/08/2023 21:34

There is something extra special about the harry haters. I have no interest in either side of the family but the venom of team william is hilarious. The investment in the stupid family argument of people you dont even know. Pathetic.

No way William is usually looking angry and miserable! And so does kate actually. I don't think they're happy with each other, they often look annoyed at each other. But we have different impressions depending on our biases. Agree to disagree

@BadgerB Methinks they protest too much? Using such colourful language implies a far greater investment than stated.

On the subject of Harry ('despise' is a far more accurate word than hate btw) he's been dumped by Travalyst from the board of directors. The lukewarm statement issued by the company about his continuing involvement, fools no one. Is it because Harry is too lazy (as obliquely referenced by Spotify) to act as a director, or because the optics of flying by private jet to a charity polo match, forgetting his polo gear and sending his private jet back to collect them, too much for a so called ethical travel advisor? You know, the people telling all of us we should travel responsibly?

And was Travalyst set up using money from another charity Meghan and Harry were involved with pre megsit?

Roussette · 02/08/2023 09:30

Link?

I have seen when his polo gear was sent seperately by EV

He's not been 'dumped' by Travalyst.

Statement from the Company
Ms Davey then clarified on Monday: "Prince Harry is the founder of Travalyst and remains an invaluable part of this organization. His role has not changed in any way, and he is regularly involved in strategic discussions and decisions alongside our partners and Board."

They've just appointed a new Board that's all.

It's hilarious how desperate people are to create the narrative that Harrys life is imploding and nobody likes him anymore, reminds me of being at primary school. He is the founder of Travalyst, which is doing well, and he is not going anywhere. Did you see how well Suits is doing on Netflix? All quiet about that here, I think the preference is to comment on made up nasty gossip and not real life events.
