@IamSTARVING except all the quotes bar “relationship hadn’t been the same since William married Kate” which is attributed to an aide, are from TB and what she wrote.Ironically none of them are actually attributed to Harry, despite the title being about Harry being brutal about country bumpkin Middletons.

Oh, so it’s all made up! These headlines are so misleading!

milveycrohn · 28/07/2023 16:20

Not sure about Harry, but the papers at the time reported that the Middletons were considered social climbers, and that some of their (both W&H, I think) friends would taunt 'doors to manual', in reference to Carol Middletin's former job on an airline as a member of the cabin crew (I am still not sure what the 'doors to manual' means anyway).
OTOH, I personally, did not like how Harry referred to his FIL, Thomas Markle, describing him with his belly hanging over his trousers. (I have not read Spare, but heard his own recording of this bit). Considering he has not met his FIL, I found that comment rather distasteful

Genuine question OP, why on earth do you care? How does this affect your life in any way shape or form that you feel the need to discuss it and evaluate it in order to broadcast your opinion and argue with others regarding the lives of people you don't know, bear no impact on your life, have never met and never will?

ILikeDinosaurs · 28/07/2023 19:16

MamoruHisaishi · 23/07/2023 12:28

No need to get upset because someone wrote something unflattering about harry. Based on his shitty behaviour and his claims that don't hold up to the truth either, I wouldn't be so quick to defend him.

No need to get upset because someone wrote something unflattering about harry

Yet, Op, you get upset when anyone writes anything remotely less than completely gushing about Will, Kate, Charles etc, or indeed anything positive about M&H, starting threads constantly, all so you can have another pop at them and anyone who supports them.

Honestly, this is the saddest and weakest of all the royals threads.

Charles? Lol, I’m barely in any threads that is about him. I don’t care if someone creates a positive thread about the Sussexes, why would it bother me lol? If you don’t like my threads don’t bother to post and just ignore but clearly you do care/are bothered enough that you would post a reply like this. Can’t blame me if I find it creepy that some pro Sussex supporters here seem to monitor me by counting how many threads I make regarding the Sussexes versus other royals. I didn’t realise I was that important enough that people would even care to do it. Is there also supposed to be a limit on how many threads I make here?

It's not creepy to point out your obsession and agenda/bias.

Also, I was only curious that the three royal threads I actually bothered contributing on (not a Sussex fan or of any of the royals) were started by you, all in the span of a week.

myrtleWilson · 28/07/2023 22:38

Out of interest @AngryGreasedSantaCatcus are you doing a census check on other threads or just the RF ones? You appear to be taking a stance of shaming @MamoruHisaishi for her activity on here. Surely you're capable enough to engage (or not) as your interests dictate. I don't agree with the sentiment of all the thread starters on MN but I recognise their right to start those discussion points - have you been charging into the Step Parent Board to chastise them for the worthiness of their posts? If not, perhaps ponder why the RF gets under your skin so much?

Surely you could say that about any of the dozens of threads on MN that focus on public figures? Why do you need to ask this question on this particular thread?

Not really a "genuine question" though is it?
It's what H&M fans say usually when there's no reasonable defense of their favourites.
" people you don't know, bear no impact on your life, have never met and never will?"
"feel the need to discuss"; "broadcast your opinion".

It's a discussion forum. People discuss things/people/problems/interests. Why is that so hard to understand

@MamoruHisaishi , I do not know where you live in the world. There is a nasty new trend in English being spoken in Britain, where many people are using the singular 'is' instead of the correct 'are'. I don't know whether this trend has come from somewhere else but I suspect it has and I have a good idea where from. It is widely prevalent. I have definitely heard a Member of Parliament make the mistake and I think I heard the well-educated Prime Minister do it. If I catch him do it, and I am quite sure he has done, I will drop him a line, because there's no point in educating children if they are not taught correctly, and they should hear good examples.
I do not know whether you 'picked up' your English or whether you had formal lessons. If you had formal lessons you will have met: I am, you are, he/she/it is, we are, you are, they are. Stick with the correct 'the threads are about him' and resist any insidious trendy-wendies who would influence you to say 'the threads is'.
I expect I will have to be hung in a cage outside the town hall, having written this post.

Neither of you have answered the question though, you've just tried to turnit into a bun fight. This is specific to this thread.I'm not the only one who finds it bizarre that grown adults spend their lives fretting about other peoples lives. They're royals, they're not meant to be like us. It'd be weirder if they were.

DojaPhat · 29/07/2023 11:34

Isn't it weirder that the concept of being 'royal' even exists? Do they shit diamonds, is their blood quite literally the colour of royal blue?

threecupsofteaminimum · 29/07/2023 11:59

I can't stand them, I'd have thought that perfectly clear!

This is a UK site but people all over the world post on here.

I come from a very multicultural country where it is considered rude to correct the grammar of someone you don’t know, unasked.

No "bun fight". I care very little about the actual subject, occasional criticism of H&M, maybe.
I repeat - it is a forum of opinions.
I find it bizarre that you post on a discussion forum asking people not to post.
You are a grown adult, I presume? Why are you posting? Do you know them, are you fretting? "Spending your life" etc.

But, hey, keep posting telling others not to post if it keeps you busy

Actually in the context of the book that was a compassionate moment.

PH was describing how, in his opinion, Thomas Markle had been both manipulated and humilated by the press. The newspapers ran pictures of him with his belly hanging over his trousers a part of that humiliation.

Sweetheart, you are very high profile!

BunnyBettChettwynd · 29/07/2023 15:42

The headline bears no resemblance to what is said in the article.

Harry grew up in the country riding to hounds and shooting rabbits from the window of a Land Rover. It was the author not the subject hinting at bumpkin in this ridiculous article.

Are you always this aggressive? Where have I asked people not to post?

I'm interested in what drives the obsession of distant unrelated people to the degree they spend their time arguing online about their lives, is that too difficult to comprehend?

I suggest you ask yourself. You are the one "obsessed". I am mildly interested and join in several discussions - on, you know, a forum for discussion..
