Photos of Catherine at Wimbledon - I wonder what her 'regime' is

Whatever you may think of her, she looks amazing. I wonder what her health regime is and what help she gets. It'd be fascinating to know what support money can buy.
Do you think she has a PT and chef?

She has a very nice figure. The tennis outfit is super flattering

WaterIris · 26/06/2023 08:56

God, some of the comments on this thread. She's chubby, she's an ironing board, she's skinny...pick, pick, picking away at someone's appearance. Utterly grim.

Those who are disagreeing that she was chubby as a teen - there's a photo of her pre-William and pre-rhinoplasty that shows very full cheeks and nose. She was probably a 12 but like most people, looked fatter on camera.

Seriously? she’s 5 foot ten. She’s never ever looked fat. I think your view on body image is highly skewed if you think she looked fat. And having a rounder face is synonymous with youth.

I agree, the put downs are awful, and can only be envy or a warped view of a healthy body weight, She’s clearly fit and healthy and always has been. Yes she’s slimmer now than in her youth, but she’s always been slim.

Of course you can! You have to eat really very little indeed before your muscles start wasting away. She looks like someone who eats in a very regimented and careful fashion and couples that with an intensive exercise programme. Nothing wrong with that, but it is very unhelpful to suggest that a standard “healthy” diet and average exercise regimen would achieve these results!

Exactly. Her regime is obviously very strict. I wonder how many people here have actually seen her in person up close. I thought as many did on here that she was just slim. It wasn't until I was 1 to 2 metres from her that I was shocked how very thin she actually is.

blobby10 · 26/06/2023 09:18

I think she has inherited her mother's genes - Carole is also very slim for her age and Pippa too. I do feel they are naturally slim and active but, like with any model/actress/actor/person in the public eye, Catherine will be much more focussed on looking good than someone like me, bound to a desk with the only time available to exercise 5am! She will also have gym and swimming facilities much more accessible than most of us. However I do think she looked 'better' when she was pregnant and had slightly fuller cheeks and a shorter hairstyle.

THisbackwithavengeance · 26/06/2023 09:21

Laughing at the chubby comments. Some posters clearly have a different opinion on what chubby means that I do!

I've met Kate in real life. She's tall and eye catchingly slender.

Which is a good thing for her because if she was any bigger than she is now, people would be calling her fat or "chubby" or "boxy" which was an adjective I saw aimed at Meghan Markle.

But yes, I'm sure she has access to private gyms, PTs, chefs, anything she wants. That's a given. Let's face it, what else does she have to do all day other than work out and look after herself? Kids have nannies, she doesn't work in an actual job.

Genuinely not meaning that as bitchy! I like her, she's done very well in her role.

SmokeAlert · 26/06/2023 09:32

@KnitMePurlMe I was referring to my slim, toned family member with a normal life! I realise the royals do not have one Hmm

It's possible with discipline around eating and making time to exercise for most people.

Also totally agree with PP that many people looked equally as slim, if not toned, in the 70s and 80s. We've just forgotten what is normal today.

Letittow · 26/06/2023 03:51

Would you though? So imagining she does have a chef and time to exercise along with a PT- do you think if you could genuinely request whatever food you wanted your opt to eat healthy balanced meals? Wouldn't be tempted by anything else? In your spare time you'd choose to carry out vigorous and demanding workouts? Not saying you wouldn't, but lots of people who say they would are discounting her self discipline and motivation.

Her whole job is to look good in clothes and make pleasant small talk. She's not working out and eating the healthy balanced meals someone cooks for her 'in her spare time' - that's her job!

HoistWithHisOwnPetard · 26/06/2023 09:37

Personally I think that she is too thin, especially now she is getting older, she is looking very drawn. I believe she is also a smoker which shows in her face. She would look good with a few pounds on I think. There is one picture when she was pregnant with George and she filled out a bit and looked really good. Just my opinion.

gettingoldisshit · 26/06/2023 09:37

Sunnysideup999 · 25/06/2023 21:28

She exercises every day.
And I imagine is very strict with her diet . And likely doesn’t drink.
People saying she doesn’t have a care in the world - I don’t think that is it. She is a parent of three young children - and even with help - that comes with its own stresses and pressures. Especially when you are raising the future king.
I also imagine it’s hugely stressful being in the spotlight all the time and having to show up to everything without a hair out of place - I should think the stress and pressure keeps her slim and motivated.
Plus I think she does genuinely enjoy sport and fitness - lucky her!

This! She absolutely does have stress but just very different stress to most people.

User63847484848 · 26/06/2023 09:37

Imagine the pressure though
imagine the comments running through your head of why does she look so rough/overweight/unfit when she’s got nothing better to do than take care of herself.
I’d hate that.
and ‘not a care in the world’? Yeah right
everyone watching your every move and dissecting your family dynamics and marriage. Hideous!

The same could be said for the comments going on about how great, amazing she looks as well. Neither of those comments are good either. They serve no real purpose other than to reduce her to how she looks, and what she wears. Yet, mostly women continue day in, day out to do so.

That's a good point. I'm 60 and when I was young, most people were very slim. The one "fat girl" in my class would be on the low end of average, today.

She was a chubby teen at school but very sporty so I guess being in the public eye makes her eat better healthier foods etc

Can mumsnet not implement some kind of process where anyone posting ridiculous comments like this has to upload a photo of themselves with their post!

savemyusername1 · 26/06/2023 09:45

I think she looks great. Just being sensible and practical, trying to keep as strong and healthy as possible, to be able to keep up with the demands of her life and to be able to be there for her family into the future.

She looks lean and strong to me. Long limbed does not equal skinny.

Sunnydaysareahead · 26/06/2023 09:46

Nature and nurture. My Mum is slim and so are my sister and I and all our kids. I was brought up to eat healthily (not obsessively) and to be active and I pass that onto my kids. You don't need to be rich or have access to PTs and chefs.

I actually genuinely think that most healthy food is preferable if that's what you're used to.

Massive caveat, I know, but when I'm at an AI hotel, I pound through the salads and fresh fish dishes at every chance.

You do need substantially less willpower if you can outsource that willpower - if the person buying the food, planning the meals and maybe doing a bit of the prep only buys good ingredients and preps good meals, then half the work is done for you, even if you then are the one cooking it with the kids under your feet.

Which is not a criticism at all. She's clearly always been an athletic woman who takes care of herself. I for one think she looks fabulous in sporty and casual clothes, I think her frame is a bit narrow for her "work uniform" - the Glgreen Earthshot dress being a notable exception.

She's skinny, sure, but she doesn’t look strained, fatigued or weak - which other women might at her size.

I agree, I really genuinely prefer healthy food. If I could click my fingers and be presented with beautiful salads every day, I would eat that.

The days I end up eating less healthily are when I rush out the door and then am in back to back meetings so have to have whatever is available at the staff canteen

You can't seriously think compliments are as almost as bad as insults? She looks great. Other people with different body types can also look amazing. There's no point in pretending we don't see looks, it's part of life. Everyone wants to look good.

Interesting that there are no threads asking what Princess Anne had to do and what help she had to fit into a dress she first wore in the 1970s.

The training regime of an Olympic athlete..............................

Gofeta · 26/06/2023 12:37

I think she looks great, she probably has a naturally slender frame going by her family, but evidently eats a balanced diet and exercises. She looks strong. I expect if the general population wasn't so overweight these days it wouldn't look so stark to people.

Morestrangerthings · 26/06/2023 12:55

I’m in my 60s now, and I was the chubby girl in my class. I was mocked and called piggy and went on to develop an eating disorder and was very thin for many many years. Developed Graves Disrase. Lost my thyroid and got very fat despite thyroxine. One led to the other etc, imo. Now I’ve got Graves Eye Disease.

I loathe the focus on womens body’s and looks. It needs to stop. It’s is making many women unhealthy.

I agree with Lady Kenya.
