Why is it always bullying of Meghan when there is something not complimentary about her. Yet for Sarah Duchess of York it's considered ok to constantly have digs at her?

I suspect this was a leak from Meghans team I'm not surprised they will need to earn money to live the lifestyle they wish to live. I don't actually have a problem with them doing this. I'd far rather this than them cashing out on their family connections.

Valentine Low's book is about the people who work for the royal family. Harry and Meghan are just a small part of his book. He has never said he wants to destroy Meghan, that's completely untrue.

The irony of complaining that Harry and Meghan are being bullied while making up outright lies about someone else is astounding.

That has already been corrected on here, so don't worry there is no need to be 'astounded'

There's no need to be huffy just because you were caught making up a lie.

JeandeServiette · 18/06/2023 08:07

Quite likely. Not much to choose between the two. Both making money off the back of H&M with books about how awful they are.

Bower & Low are quite different, and what is Low - a court correspondent - supposed to do if not write about royals?

Blip · 18/06/2023 08:09

"Serenster
You are mistaking Valentine Low from Tom Bpwer I think there, Roussette.

And H&M are making money off the back of the RF with books about how awful they are.

I'm not huffy. I accepted I got it wrong. I didn't 'make up a lie'. I muddled up two writers.

(Cue endless posts all day bringing this up. But to stop this, let me apologise to you personally for getting this wrong)

WeAreTheHeroes · 18/06/2023 08:10

I wouldn't set too much store by that article. The writer thinks Gen X is under 40. Gen X is people born between 1965 and 1980.

MySoCalledWife · 18/06/2023 08:10

Would be a bold move by Dior, as the British RF would never wear Dior again, but maybe they don’t anyway?

I was about to say this. I bought the book hoping for more on H&M and actually it was a very interesting and well researched (with accompanying footnotes galore) of the background to the whole courtier system and details of some of the famous ones who served HMQ and Charles such ss Tommy Lascelles.

It's not a craven hatchet job on Harry and Meghan, IMO

Spectre8 · 18/06/2023 08:15

Lets face it even though its been pretty quiet on their front lately, media still generate enough articles about them. Once again they were frontline news first instead of the rest of the royal family at the trooping of colours and then they switch it so the rf was the headline.

Even on here, the vast majority of threads if they haven't been deleted are about H&M

I dont see a single thread about ydays rf event. And even if there were, I guarantee you someone will bring up h&m in it lol

You see love them, hate them or something in between H&M are what ppl talk about the most whether its good or bad 🤷‍♀️ so like they say all publicity is good publicity, they still make headlines 😉

EdithWeston · 18/06/2023 08:19

Deals to be announced "soon" sounds like "jam tomorrow", do we'll have to wait and see if any emerge. But Dior is a curious choice if she's trying to distance herself from "her husband's toxic dramas" because that's the brand he's been wearing.

But choice of clothes/other merchandise isn't going to distance her from her personal life!

If she is seeking to distance herself, and actually means that, then it is other changes she will need to make.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 18/06/2023 08:21

She's beautiful and generally looks great in their clothes.

Shame the press has resurrected the cream straightjacket dress with the odd hem though.

Dumpruntime · 18/06/2023 08:25

I strongly suspect this was leaked by Meghan as a way to put something positive out there following the grifters comment.

dior are not afraid of controversy, they will monetise it, but sadly Meghan is a different kettle of fish to depp, who maintained a huge fan base, for some reason, and was still active in many huge films and red carpet appearances. Meghan isn’t in this league and doesn’t have rhe same fan base, it’s just a small minority of super fans,

if that deal isn’t pretty much done, then the leak could put the end to it.

GlorianaCervixia · 18/06/2023 08:29

She's very beautiful and knows how to look great in photos but her clothes are often poorly fitted. Sometimes they're too tight and pulling across the chest and back, and other times she's swimming in fabric. I think she'd do well in perfume ads, though. She could even donate a percentage of her fee to Archewell to do... whatever it is that Archewell does.

Ohpleeeease · 18/06/2023 08:29

I think it’s plausible, she’s controversial and high profile, the royal brand still holds value because it’s rare, she is striking, modern and chic in appearance, all things that might make her an attractive signing.

I thought the article was interesting in how critical it was of Harry, and dismissive of his earning potential. There’s definitely a separation of the two of them going on here for PR purposes, no longer joined at the bottom.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 18/06/2023 08:30

I hope the leak won't spoil the deal. It's usually kept very tight and leaks can be damaging.

TheCheeseTray · 18/06/2023 08:37

This would suit her down to the ground. Wasn’t Jonny Depp a face of Dior - suits her free clothes and lots of events to go to? She takes a good photo

AutumnCrow · 18/06/2023 08:43

Well that’s Harry told, isn’t it?

Maybe something like what Emma Watson recently did for prada. She doesn't really do many red carpets or anything now, but did their perfume ad, and directed it as well. I know Meghan hasn't directed before but I don't think Emma had either, and more and more actors seem to be trying their hand at directing and producing now.

I was shocked by the parts of the article about Harry! It's quite clear she's aiming to distance herself from him and I do wonder if the rumours of divorce and living apart have an element of truth to them. If her own PR company is slating him and his drama then yikes!

StrawberryWasp · 18/06/2023 08:49

She is one of the most famous women and instantly recognisable and looks great in photos so I could see how this would work for Dior.

I'm not sure though what it would involve or how much money would be involved?

It would be odd if her PR put this statement out with all the distancing from H references.

@DreamTheMoors @My2pence2day @lifekeepsgoing

So agree with your posts. I am astounded by some of the stuff that has been posted in the last day or so. I have never seen it before like this on MN and I've been here a long time.

So a Spotify guy was rude about them and their podcasts, he was unprofessional, H&M did nothing, haven't shown their faces, haven't commented on it... for that they are dragged through the mud, insulted, mocked, and to be honest it's been a case of people dancing on their graves.

It is bullying, plain and simple. And it appears to be quite acceptable to do that.

I hope Meghan makes a success of anything she does, with Harry alongside her. And good luck Harry with the court case, you are brave sticking your neck above the parapet, knowing what abuse you would get for doing so.

well said.
I really don't and never have got the obsession people have with tearing Meghan down. they pretend they don't hate her, yet thread after thread full of this stuff.

Prelapsarianhag · 18/06/2023 08:51

Give it a rest and leave the poor woman alone.

Rather a rich thing to say when Harry and Meghan have made their money criticising the royal family

justsaxy · 18/06/2023 09:20

Can you please stop? You've been posting the same thing in other threads. Stop making it so personal, this isn't about you, and I suggest you take a chill pill and accept that people are allowed to comment/discuss/and yes even snark on the sussexes.

Wow. So incredibly harsh and unkind there @MamoruHisaishi
