Harry may be in trouble with his Visa application!

polkadotdalmation · 03/05/2023 10:48

So the American Heritage foundation has put in an appeal for their freedom of information application, to see Harry's original visa application, which has incidentally 'got lost'!

They feel that Harry has negated his right to privacy regarding this document because he has already put his drug use into the public domain.

The questions on the visa applications are about drug use or using substances you know to be prohibited, in your past or currently when the application was made.

Nothing to do with the fact cannabis is not prohibited in California currently and his current drug use.

Case I believe, is being brought against the department of homeland security, and the basis for the Heritage foundation is were equality laws followed or was Harry given preferential treatment because of his title. Interesting. Maybe Harry learns to keep his private drug use, private.

A crazy extreme right wing group does an action that will lead nowhere. This is crazy conspiracy theory time OP.

PollyPeptide · 03/05/2023 11:48

I can't see it going anywhere myself. But you never know what tidbits of gossip might be shaken free. I'm always up for that. 👍 😁

Me too! Love a bit of gossip. Harry has an odd alliance with the truth so I'm pretty sure he lied, hence it's got lost.

Don't care if it is a right wing organisation. If the 'conspiracy' is that someone rich and powerful can ride roughshod over American laws while a poor Mexican is barred, than good on them. America is based on equality so why should he get away with it.

Many Americans are already pissed off with him for saying the first amendment is bonkers, so he is trying to shut down freedom of speech in America as well as here?

As a rich and privileged person Harry will not be subject to the same rules on visas as others.

Rockybooboo · 03/05/2023 12:10

I think gossip about Charles would be more interesting especially with him hanging out with sex offenders. I'd totally get rid of the FOI excemption for all the Royal Family.

hattie43 · 03/05/2023 12:10

I kinda think an exemption would be made for Harry .

AskMeMore · 03/05/2023 12:12

It is not simply a right wing organisation. They are extreme right wing.
And if everyone in the UK who had ever taken drugs was barred from the US the planes would be pretty empty.

That's all old hat, though. We've already gossiped about all that. I want fresh meat. Mind you, nothing much fresh about Harry's meat - it's all frozen. Hehe.

Rockybooboo · 03/05/2023 12:22

Well not really as we don't know the full details as its probably been covered by the FOI exceprion.

It's been gossiped about a lot. There are threads on it, including letters Charles has written and everything. What official documentation would you be expecting the govt to be keeping on him?

WheelsUp · 03/05/2023 12:29

I don't think that anything will come of it. They allow politicians and celebrities who take drugs enter the country and live there so unless Harry was dealing or part of a violent drug gang, he'll be absolutely fine.
(Note I'm not saying he is part of a violent drug gang, I'm saying that is what it would take to be deported)

TheUsualChaos · 03/05/2023 12:29

He's a very silly boy. America will soon be fed up of his nonsense too. Feel for their children, that book is an embarrassment.

AskMeMore · 03/05/2023 12:36

@FrippEnos This action is like the BNP taking court action against a Royal. Nothing will come off it. They are extreme idiots with no case.

Bit like our King then. He could murder someone and not be tried.

He is above the law. He cannot be prosecuted under a civil or criminal invrstigation.

caringcarer · 03/05/2023 12:49

Serves him right.

I doubt that anything will come of it.
I just thought that posters may like to have an actual legal view on it.

maranella · 03/05/2023 12:52

It will go nowhere. He's Prince Harry. People like him aren't subject to the same rules as the rest of us. How many British rock stars with very clear drug-addled pasts now reside in the USA? Does anyone think Ozzy Osbourne has been clean as a whistle his who life?

maranella · 03/05/2023 12:52

*whole

Meepledeep · 03/05/2023 12:56

I suspect lots of people lie (and get away with it unless they've been charged etc). I think he's been a bit brazen openly talking about it and might realise that what he says has consequences, but I doubt anything will come of it.

So he used his privilege to avoid rules affecting ordinary people? I don't think it means he is above the law though.

So they would have lied too? America has strict laws on drugs as they have a massive problem themselves. If Harry lied he should have kept quiet in his book and interviews. In fact he should have kept quiet full stop and maintained his and other people's 'privacy'.

Wakey wakey. Welcome to the real world.

This isn't unusual.

WheelsUp · 03/05/2023 13:09

In practice, rich people live under different rules. Not just Prince Harry.

If they are caught by the authorities then they can afford legal advice and get away with things.
