BBC link: Public asked to swear allegiance to King Charles

Apparently during the coronation service, we'll all being asked to swear "true allegiance" to Charles and his heirs.

That's a no from me.

The pledge is among several changes to the service, which will incorporate female clergy and other faiths.

I would put money on....
It was run past him by Welby. Charles said go for it. They put it out in the media. It went down really badly. Charles had a hissy fit and sent out bestie Dimbleby to say it really was not what Charles is like. Dimbleby also saying it was 'crossed wires' and Welby.
Yeah... rightio...

(Disclaimer, I don't know, just my take on it)

One could say it is abhorrent for the King to blame his Archbishop for the detail of his speech

One could indeed, but since when did any of the Windsors show signs of accepting responsibility for anything?

And had the idea proved popular, does anyone seriously imagine Charles would have wanted to share the credit?

Even I'm hoping it doesn't rain, the more elderly people who have slept out for 2 nights already will be seriously in trouble with an added downpour.

It’s not like they have no choice, but to sleep out, like the homeless people who have been swept out of the area. I know it’s not big of me, but I can’t help but hope for torrential rain and thunder storms!

It has rained a bit and is going to rain a lot more in London today.

Regarding the people who camp out overnight, sometimes with children, then spend hours waiting: how to they go to the toilet?
